      @@chastekirkpatrick9414 Fantastic. Shot a deer at 250yd with the 6.5 last yr dropped in tracks. 350 Legend is great also I would recommend it out to 150-175yds being as far as Id want to shoot an animal with it. Both guns dead accurate, I didnt even pick up my trusty bolt guns last season

    In 2019 I used my CVA Scout II elk hunting. It is a .444 Marlin and I made a 266 yard shot. The elk did not take another step. The shot passed completely through the elk from top of shoulder and out the bottom. With a handload (not maximum) the 240 gr. bonded bullet left the barrel at 2415 fps. If your scout is like mine it has a wonderful trigger.

    my neighbor he bought up his 270 to sign in for him, he had 3 new boxes of 130 grain of remmingtons, when i was sighting it in and i could hear the difference of the power charges by shaking them, so i got the chrony out and shot a few, well they chrony 300fps spreads on them. later that night ended up pulling all the remmington bullets out and measured everything and most of the powder charges was 8 grain spreads worse one was 15 grains off!

    I haven't same rifle in 35 rem. And the hunter series in 44 mag. Both shoot accurately. The 44 even tho a cheaper of the two in cost shoots very accurate . Great trigger for the price point .

    I love your videos - great shooting and lots of fun. I have an advice on shooting that gun. A super lightweight gun like the one you test here were ment to be held hard and not in a crossarm position. You can se the muzzle flip on the video wich will produce larger groups and flyers. Try to hold the forend with your left hand. Grip it hard and pull it down and backwards. Your right hand holds the pistolgrip firmly but not to tight - you trigger finger should be able to manipulate the trigger slowly and easy. Now the difficult part is to maintain this setup through out the hole process, before, during and after the shot... it takes a lot of practice to master but it will award you in the end when shooting lightweight rifles. There is more to it than i describe but this will give you results from a bench...

    I have the same rifle. My results with the Remington cor-lokt and the Hornady American Whitetail pretty much mirror yours. Something about that 129 gr Hornady the rifle just doesn't like. I've found that the 140 gr. Federal Fusion is pretty consistent, producing groups under 1.25" more often than not. Recently picked up some 131 gr and 156 gr S&B soft points. I'm really curious to see how the rifle will handle/shoot the 156 gr soft point. It could make for an interesting hog load.

      chris wilson Thanks keep us posted.

    • @chriswilson5657
      @chriswilson5657 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Finally was able to get to the range and shoot the 131 gr and 156 gr softpoints by S&B. The 131 gr didn't do half bad with groups running around 1.25 inches. The 156 gr load was running around 1.5 inches on average. Not bad but not great either. I've been able to run almost two full boxes of the 140 gr S&B soft points through my Scout and I will say that the rifle seems to really like that load. It's produced several sub 1 inch groups with most running just a hair over an inch. The last group the other morning using the 140 gr load was right under 2.25 inches at 200 yards. With hunting season not too far off, I may just stick with the 140 gr sp to see how the do on game.

      I have read that the 6.5 Creedmor was built with the idea of using 139 to 145 grain bullets. I don't know if that is correct but my books sow the ballistics right with those weights but the longer heaver bullet will have a better sectional density thus giving a higher BC which I suppose should increase accuracy. Then it's a matter of the other components.

    Beware!!!!! I have a CVA Stalker with a Bergara barrel. I have just under 300 rounds through it. I usually shoot Hornady Light Mags out it. No problems and accurate until 250 or so rounds. Then it started getting flyers and then erratic groups over 8”. Of course I’m checking screws, scope, mount etc. Then I notice the barrel moving side to side slightly in the action. Not up and down, so you really don’t notice when it’s sitting in the bags. I called CVA and they said the GUN is just worn from shooting. I asked to send it in for service and they stated that they can’t fix it. The guy just said sorry and said good luck. After 300 rounds of factory ammo??????? I have a 1932 BRNO that is still amazing and still is factory stock. CVA will never see another dime from me.

Like I want another POS rifle I'll never buy another cva or support such unprofessional products I suggest someone put 100 more bucks and buy a browning or winchester. Very poor quality products and very poor customer service. What rifle looks like that in a month? It's not rust at all.
