I love sardines and pâtés in general but I find that often the cream cheese overpowers the other flavours. I use cottage cheese instead and it's delicious!
I prefer making a cottage cheese type from Yoghurt. Put the yoghurt with a pinch of salt in a muslin bag and drain for 24 hours & you have Yoghurt cheese. I've even used it in an uncooked cheese cake before the days of keto. Trying to work something out for keto. The base is the problem could use berries for the top?
@@Ariella-mx3xq4cw6n I've never tried with yoghurt but that's a good idea! Downside for me is that it's difficult to find a yoghurt that's low enough carb-wise to suit my needs. I often make a no bake cheesecake with a mix of cream cheese, whipped cream and whipped cottage cheese. I used roughly crushed nuts (whiz them in a food processor) and melted butter for the base. Press it on the bottom of a lined springform pan and in the fridge to set. Berries on top. A real crowd pleaser!
I love the idea of using cottage cheese! Not a huge fan of cream cheese. I most often eat my sardines in an egg salad…my favorite is with king Oscar sardines with peppercorns and a bit of dill relish…so good I just eat with a spoon!! My body doesn’t always like boiled eggs…so I am excited to try your idea of cottage cheese…thanks for the inspiration!
I'm making this pate tonight. When I saw your video, I ran to the Dollar Tree to get a can of sardines. It was a large 235 gr can, enough for two pates, for $1.25. They even sold Philadelphia-brand cream cheese for $3.00; I was shocked. The sardines are packed in water, so I will drain them and add olive oil to the pate. Thank you so much for the video.
I woukd gave used the water too as I believe it has nutrients from the Sardines sitting in there a while. Just like with canned Salmon, I never suggest draining any liquid or separating out the bones. Personal preference I suppose. Good eats!
@@vivianspringer5142I made salmon patties and regret not using the great tasting water, I am keeping it next time. Salmon patties are so easy to make with 1 egg, 1/2 cup pork rinds cooked and browned in bacon fat. Chef Jean-Pierre suggests grinding the pork rinds into flour.
I’m not a dog owner, but I think the information is important and would watch it to support you and for general information! The pate looks like one I’ll try!
I made the sardine pate, yesterday. I made some into a dressing for a salad, some of the pate of spooned over hard-boiled eggs (probably could use the pate to make devilled eggs) and finally, the best of all, was eating the pate like you would eat ice-cream - by the spoonful. It was delicious. Will definitely make it again and would add more sardines to the recipe as I prefer a more fishier flavour. Thank you for a really tasty, simple recipe. I wasn't a big fan of sardines - but this recipe changed all that now. :)
Just sharing a pivotal moment in my keto/carnivore journey. With the 3-day weekend, I thought I would "prepare" to avoid falling off plan and normally I make a homemade carnivore dairy dessert , which I have no problem with, but out of laziness, I bought a popular Keto brand of cookies and I did eat one food that was off plan but I fasted afterwards. So, I didn't feel good doing the "dietary hacks" that have kept me on track in the past and I consider that a win because the things that I fear, are no longer really temptations because I feel confident that I do not want to feel sick. I feel like I'm crossing the bridge, one step closer to being fully carnivore!😊
I found him just 4 days ago and made his recipe with mackerel and then sardines with spring water. Delicious. My 2 dogs have always had raw meat since being puppies. They’re now 10 and 11 and really fit. They haven’t been to the vets for years!

I would like seeing how you are feeding your pups. I fed my dog a raw diet - 1 chicken leg quarter and 1/2 lb ground turkey blended with about a cup frozen mixed veggies. He did very well on that diet and it was not expensive. I tried giving him raw beef a couple of times but that did not sit well with him.
I feed my dog a raw diet and she loves it. She loves chicken feet. She eats gizzards and and beef, liver and heart. She’s all about it makes it easier to shop when both of you carnivore😂😂😂

Our old dog did eat a mostly carnivore diet after researching how to keep him healthy at hoing on 17 years old. A beautiful Blued Beige Husky. He developed a tumor on his spleen. Surgery was offered by 1 Vet out of 2 we took him to. I had him off dry or canned dog food anyway for nany years. Serving his organic chicken or beef of fish mixed with brown rice...added eggs sometimes or cooked vegs. As he got slower and did add in as fresh ground raw beef thay I could get. Learning the effects of grains... he lived for several more months very quietly just ny husband and i conforting him and ourselves. He was beautiful until the day we took him in to sleep on with no more pain. Which he never seemed to have much. But, began not eating and sleeping longer. Broke our hearts but his love & memory was special and an unforgettable journey. And, the knowledge we gained could help if & when we decide to have more pets. We enjoy grand dogs coming over for short visits. As now my husband requires more care. Love learning more! Keep up the goid work Dear! Texas Fan 🤠❤️

I have to try this. I don't mind sardines but I don't love them plain. I have put them in egg salad and I like that, I'm thinking of on top of a harb boiled egg. Because I would like to eat it as a meal I'm going to try 1oz of cram cheese and add if needed but I wan tto keep that to aminimum if I'm going to eat it all! Thanks for the inspiration
Going too add your recipe to my sardine menu😊. I just finished lunch of 2 cans sardines, 1 can of mackerel with red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, mustard, pepper flakes, lemon - mixed all together along with 1 boiled egg chopped into mixture. I sure must have been hungry…I ate every bite. Very satiated right now. Sous viding a porterhouse steak (130/3) for dinner tonight with a hard sear in my Cast Iron skillet. Anita do you think that was too much canned fish for 1 meal?? Pate looks amazing.
From a caloric/macro point of view or from a canned fish point of view? I would say no to both thoughts, just wasn't sure what your concern was, I know some people worry about mercury (not an issue) or histamine or other things.
I used to eat mashed sardine sandwiches and on toast but after stopping eating bread I don't really like the sardine taste. I might try this with just salt, pepper and lemon
Yes yes yes on the dog video! I'd like to know how you knew that what you're feeding them is nutritionally appropriate/balanced for canine health. Did you work with a dog nutritionist? I've seen several vids that show pumpkin and spinach and varios other plant-based foods in the concoction. I didn't feel great about that, but I don't feel qualified to assess what is appropriate for my dog. P.S. Your dogs are just precious! 💞🐾
Thank you! Yes, I worked with Milica (she is a moderator on my livestreams). She has worked with training and feedings for decades and I trust her knowledge. She will help me work on a video!

Thanks for this video, Anita, it brought back some lovely memories. remember around 20 years ago or so I found and made a recipe for creamed mackerel pate, which was made with hot double cream and butter and one or two other ingredients. It was for a little dinner party with friends and it was deeeeelicious but because we were warned about ‘high fat’ I never made it again, sadly, and now I’ve forgotten the recipe. I will keep looking but maybe I’ll just experiment, lol! 😋🥰
Yes would love dog food videos !!! 😁😁😁I have not bought kibble in a year-our dogs eat cooked chicken, I mix in veggies or rice as just meat was giving them very loose stool…😮😮😮
Although my dog died he was a month of 18 years. I don't have a dog at the moment, but I fully intend if I get another one she will be on a carnivore diet. As I always have rescues it will need to be a slow process to retrain the gut to healthy eating. I am very interested.
I can't remember exactly which video BUT if you scroll down on my website here you will find the Sardine Cheat Sheet and can download all the info including that recipe: ketogenicwoman.com/sardine-challenge/

What a sweet story, thank you for sharing this!
I draw the line before chocolate & garlic!!
No good livin' for me without those 2.
Can't have dairy but I did just buy some Miyoko's vegan cream cheese so I can still make it!! EXCITING!
Thank You SOOO much for all You do for Yourself & us 😍🎉😍
Yes, I would love to hear about your process for introducing an all meat diet to your puppies.
Yes I would watch it. I have 3 Yorkies
Thank you very much for this recipe, Anita!
Yes, I would like to see a video of you making the dogs’ food
Your outtakes are funny!
Noted!
Anita, I’ve been feeding my dog carnivore and she’s doing wonderful. I’m so glad to hear that you are feeding your dogs kind of more just makes sense.
It sure does make sense!
Hi Anita... thanks for another great video... Even though I don't own a dog, I think it is a good idea to do a video on feeding your dogs a meat diet.
I used to eat mashed sardine sandwiches and on toast but after stopping eating bread I don't really like the sardine taste. I might try this with just salt, pepper and lemon
Love it, I get great ideas from Chef Jean-Pierre, some clean carnivore ideas like Eggs Benedict.
Yes, love it when I can adapt something from an actual chef!
Awesome…..will try this for sure
Anita you look so good. I have started an Omega 3 day or 2.
Wonderful!
love the apron!
Could be nice with Tuna instead of the Sardines. But add some Cod liver oil and Pumpkin seeds to get same Omega 3
I would love a video on your dogs carnivore diet.
Yes I love the disguising the sardines
I just can’t put those !fish’ in my mouth 🤢
This could work
I’ll rewatch get sardines figure out how to eat it rinds are 👍 good ezeee ❤
It looks & sounds good. I need to increase my intake of sardines, etc.
I am interested in the dogfood video.
That sounds good too!
@KetogenicWoman YES! True to your word… and really fast too! 😁 Thank you so much Anita. I’m onto this one today! ❤
PS: Pronunciation = Woostershear
😊❤
We, here in Winchester, England just say, please pass the "Wooster"
haha, glad you saw it! 😍
@@denim4821 yes I know you do, I’m born a Pom myself but live in Australia. No one would know what a Wooster was over here except for ex-pats. 🤣
@@KetogenicWoman 🥰🙏
Anita, A recipe I heard about is to dip your sardines in egg, ground up pork rinds and air fry them. Have you ever tried them this way?
Yes, I'm sure I tried that. But I like this recipe breading better if you have any egg white powder? : th-cam.com/video/m7P3tPqqNjk/w-d-xo.html
I have raw fed my dogs for....good heavens, must be somewhere near 20ish years. That is a crazy amount of time!
Amazing!
Same! Raw food = healthier dogs and cats!
Yes would love dog food videos !!! 😁😁😁I have not bought kibble in a year-our dogs eat cooked chicken, I mix in veggies or rice as just meat was giving them very loose stool…😮😮😮
Sardines not my fav, but this Im looking forward to try😊
That looks so yummy! Yes to a carnivore dog food video. 😊❤😊
Yes please on the dog food videos 👍❣️👍🥰🙌
Although my dog died he was a month of 18 years. I don't have a dog at the moment, but I fully intend if I get another one she will be on a carnivore diet. As I always have rescues it will need to be a slow process to retrain the gut to healthy eating. I am very interested.
Wow, almost 18 years old, that is unusual these days!
Yes! Videos about the dogs.
Looks Delish!
I’ve been wanting to switch my doggo over so I’m very interested in seeing what you do!
Me 1st!! I Love You!! Just ate a can of brislings & am going to join Y'all for Omega Mondays!!

Would love to learn more about putting my dog on carnivore!!

Yes, I would really like to know about feeding my dogs meat. What about eggs? would that be good, too?
I will look into this! I have not tried eggs with them yet!
