Martin Morano, To compress the brake pistons, loosen or remove the brake reservoir cap, then move the " ears " of the brake pads side to side to compress each piston. The OEM rotors have an aluminum hat, which saves about 2 lbs per corner. Might not sound like alot, but unsprung mass has a very large effect on handling dynamics. Slotted and drilled does close to nothing for performance, so I would say no.
