EASY ONLINE GALLERY/ LIGHTROOM/ how to present your photos to clients

  • New tutorial guys! I show you how I create smart previews to sort through photos quickly, how to watermark all your photos in one go and send a selection to your client in an online gallery in built into Lightroom Classic. Also how to create an online gallery to present your final images to your client. Show your watermarked unedited photos easily to your client for them to choose which photos they want edited.
This is my workflow that works for me, and is very handy as I am already using Adobe Lightroom Classic to edit.
I hope this helps you out as a photographer dealing with clients and if it did maybe consider liking and subscribing, it's up to you. I hope to see you in the next one. NEVER STOP CREATING

The second way you mentioned is what works for me… I narrow down the selection and do some basic fixes. Then show the clients so they can pick out what they really want. Then I just edit those. Saves me loads of time. 👍🏼

Hi! Thank you so much for this helpful video. I just want to add something about what you said in the beginning. If you ask clients, of course they'll want all the pictures but here is the thing, we should find a middle ground. I suggest to all the photographers out there, specially beginners, to take enough photos and do a vast first selection of all the images and then sharing the rest with the clients.
Because the final photographs are not only for them but for us as well. We are artists, if we only think about the commercial part of it we'll eventually get burn out and we'll start to hate what we do. Be patient, with time you'll get to know better what your niche likes and it we'll be easier for you to make images all parties will love. This is my personal experience, and I hope you don't struggle with the same thing I did. Or maybe you already did? We are all together in this journey...
    With love,
    Melanni

Cameron, maybe it's a newer feature since this video was made a year or so ago, but you don't need to make the smart previews before you sync the photos. LR classic only syncs smart previews to LR (mobile). You place the photos you want to share into a collection, then sync the collection to the cloud. And here is the most important nugget of knowledge, photos synced from Lightroom Classic do not count against your Lightroom cloud 20 GB of storage. I did learn a few tips about the settings and sharing. Thanks!

Hi I'm having problems with this whole workflow but this is what I figured out. If you upload raw to cloud, they get a tiny jpeg. You would have to save edited photos to jpeg on hd then re import to lightroom, re create a collection as jpegs then upload to gallery and share link or add to existing gallery. I haven't tried this yet from PC but when using phone full jpegs are shared and downloaded as same.

this was super helpful, the only thing i would say is that after the client make their pic with watermarked photos, and you edit the ones in Lightroom, the original photos WITHOUT the watermark to get automatically edited as you edit the ones with the watermark. Unless i'm doing something wrong, please let me know. The only photos that are updated with the edits, are the ones with the watermark that re-imported into Lightroom. At least that was my experience, this was still a great tutorial for me, i use to send the pictures through dropbox and this gave me a much more professional look, so thank you.

      @cameronmcdonnell912  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Good question bro 👍 You have 2 collections. The Raw photos and the watermarked. (Nearly identical, except for the watermark of course)
You send the watermarked collection to the client for them to choose which photos they want. This is set as a guide. So if they chose photos for example 2,7,10.
You would go to photos 2,7,10 in the Raw collection and edit those ones.

Can you also let clients find the raw photos in that folder or do you do that separately?

Why? Is a raw file really gonna help sell an overly edited file with some lame filter slapped on it?

I right click on collection and I don't have option there 'sync with Lightroom' or 'Lightroom links'. What am I doing wrong? I'm with Adobe photo plan. I need client to like selected photos so I can postprocess them.

Cameron, I followed your instructions & my client is saying they need to sign in to like the photo or comment. How do I not allow that to happen. I made the collection public & made sure the slider for like & comment is on. Why is it doing that?
In your video you're able to like & comment cause you signed in to your account. My client doesn't have an Adobe account.

    • @cameronmcdonnell912

Yeah I had someone else ask me that question aswell. When I send the link to the client, I now inform them all they have to do is create an account which take 2 seconds. Then it’s straight forward from there

@@cameronmcdonnell912 Ok cool, if that's all it is then, that shouldn't be a big deal. I'll create a quick video & screen share to show them how to do it. This way I can send them a link to the video to watch how to create an account (obviously for those less tech-savvy) LOL 😃Thanks again for the vid & quick response. I subd!

The only downside of this is that clients have to make an Adobe account. Some clients hate it to make "accounts for everything".
