3 years ago I was doing Lyft during college… A customer brought a pit bull and was barking and digging into my seat…. @@msmakos1 Oh well and move on? Many people hate dogs. Many people are afraid of dogs. Many people are germaphobes who want to keep their belongings clean. Not to mention allergies. It doesn't matter if the dog is Rin Tin Tin and just out of the groomers. Dogs shed, they drool, service dog or not. And this is coming from someone with a service dog, so I know the ins and outs, and I've heard it all before. Even so, I stick by the people not wanting animals in their car. I wouldn't either.
Most all of the dogs and cats that I drive Are clearly Not Service Animals, they are family pets and I don't mind at all, but Uber clearly states $1.50 extra per trip and I have only recieved that fee one time. So that goes out the door, which would pay for the dog hair I vacuum up after the trip, minus the trips I lost while my app was off during the hair cleanup🥴
I am an animal lover. I have four dogs..So I would not deny a ride to a pet. I had a lady in my car with her dog, the dog was fine until I put a mask on. This was back when it was required. The dog lunged at me . I told the woman, you must control your dog. I cant have it attacking me while I drive. She seemed amused, said her dog never did that to anyone else.I think it is really wrong to force this on drivers. Some ARE allergic, Some do have religions that dont believe dogs should be near people. It seems this violates basic rights. What we have to allow inside OUR cars...They also say we must help with wheelchairs. I am disabled and cant do that. I have been fortunate so far when I pick up a handicap person, there had been someone to help
People with disabilities who have service animals need them and those animals know how to act and aren’t an issue. It’s the people who bring their “service animal” who force it on people no matter how uncomfortable it makes other people because they are sociopaths
It's really a catch-22 because I work in transit myself and we must accept service animals no matter what. When a customer comes up with an animal, specifically a dog, the last thing you want to do is even mention "service animal" because chances are the customer will lie and say it is. You would ask, "Is that your pet?". If they answer "yes", then depending on where you work, you tell them "no pets allowed". If they tell you that's a service animal, case closed.
Uber needs to have people who have service animals upload their documents and have them verified so we don't have to ask those awkward types of questions.

First of all this just proves we're not independent contractors we are definitely employees and if I happened to pick up someone with a service animal and this animal defiles my vehicle in any way I will be getting compensated I don't think this is going to last too long because they're just setting themselves up for more lawsuits 😎
Exactly! Uber and Lyft arrogance is going to get them bankrupt and then we will all see the pain they’re going to feel. Oh! Wait! They’re feeling it now…
I select Uber Pet to take pet rides but sometimes ask rider to provide carrier or blanket for their pet before I start heading toward the rider. One time I unselected Uber Pet and only chose to drive on UberXL and Comfort, and then Uber sent me a reminder that I have to accept Service animal rides. That just solidified any argument about being an Independent Contractor. They control what drivers can and cannot do in the course of drivers' employment.
When I first started driving for Uber, rented a car through Avis (awful experience and they stole money). Avis doesn’t allow any animals in their vehicles or they’ll charge the driver a huge cleanup fee if they find a single hair.
Many patient transport services now are leaching into the Uber platform and ordering rides for their patients, then bill Medicaid and Medicare. These services were provided by specialized vehicles but now Uber and its drivers are fair game.
I've been driving for lyft for over 4 years, almost 9,000 rides. I have never had any trouble (knock on wood) with riders who have service dogs. But I have never had a ride request sent you me telling me the person has a service animal. I usually find out when I'm picking up the passenger.
Holy cow thank you for this info professor, those 2 questions to ask people with dogs are gold, i dont mind giving a ride to people who really have a disability but a regular pet hell no.

Agreed. I had a service dog they dog took a crap and a pee in my car the rider did not even attempt to clean it up. I reported it to left and they said the pictures I sent in did not match with the description of the mess I made and deny the cleaning fee
Nah this should be a choice for the driver. And Uber shouldn't be forcing drivers to take dogs in their cars. They should have incentive bonuses for these trips
WOW!!! Great business opportunity!!!! I provide personal driver service on top of driving Uber and Lyft and other services as well. Pet Taxi service sounds very lucrative to me. At a premium price of course.
Maybe if we all had "service pit bulls in our cars, we could sue anyone that complained. Maybe we could sue Uber or lyft if they ever deactivated us because we felt like it was discrimination
That is so RUDE!! It makes people late or screws up their whole day. Plus, it is DISCRIMINATION. YOU WILL BE DEACTIVATED FOR DOING THIS TO A SERVICE ANIMAL.
The rideshare won’t tell you they charge extra for NON service animals and not tell you only way I found out is because a rider told me her dog is NOT a service animal and pays extra for that and they are not telling the contractors????Look at the waybill
What if the service animal sends the driver into a severe allergic reaction that is a disability a driver has now the animal is messing with my disability
It's been a week I'm driving uber customers again after I quit uber rideshare driving in March 2020 and it is ridiculous. Getting a job with minimum wage here in Los Angeles is better than Uber X . Do the math after gas and wear and tear. So if I get deactivate I really dont give a dam .
I’m under investigation for canceling a ride because I had to use the restroom really bad. Turned out to be a service dog ride. How long are the investigations?
Well In service animal regulation is a K9 type and I can ask where was it was certified as a service dog and if I see a Chihuahua type dog or pitbull about bite my face off and I get bite I'm suing Uber or Lyft and the owner of that dog for putt me in a situation not related too service animal
I, personally, do not care to ride in a car with possible dog hair or dog smell in it. They have plenty or rides available to the disabled, and people who love their dogs so very much should provide their own transportation. Besides, some people are allergic to animal hair.
Who's going to pay for the cleaning after a dog is in the car? And people with severe animal allergies like myself or folks with OCD *which is also a disability* why are these less important issues? Its awful
Never have had it happen in 4 years of driving. Have had people bring pets, if they ask maybe if the animal is clean and with a tip. I am an animal lover however the driver must also consider the next person getting into the car. If I wanted my cats to go with me I would ask the driver first and let them know the tip amount.
I have picked up service dogs but I do think Lyft should hold passenger accountable if the dog takes a crap and a p in your car and then you reported to lyft for a cleaning fee and they say the details and your trip to not match to the mess when you even send in pictures
I was bit by a dog in my car my first week driving for Uber. I don’t know if it was a service dog and I allow pets. It has had me rethink my boundaries. I will share that IF you wish to allow pets you can have pee pads in your car to protect upholstery from their feet, nails and fur. A 4 or 5 pack for $1.25 at dollar tree. You can message your rider before pick up to kindly keep their dog on their lap for the duration of the ride for their safety and yours. All and all, even tho I’m an animal lover I think I’m going to turn off the allow pets feature.. that is IF I can get to a point where I’m earning a little better than I have been ☺️
This is true they will deactivate you. I went thru it with lift. But they gave me a warning because it wasn't true. The man was just very rude and the only way they kept me is because I have gave many riders with service animals rides and had no issue
They need to put service animal on there profile the ada need to do that so they can stop people from lying they put up handicap signs in parking lots with fines why they can't do that
I love love dogs, but the leather in my car is very soft and could rip easy. Deactivate me if they need to. Oh well. I will go get a minimum wage job anywhere like this has become.
Thanks for sharing this information. I want to ask you if you know if there is a way i can get activated. I was deactivated due to having two accounts. But one was for uber eats that i used before i started driving and the second for uber driver. Im a driver from NYC and here we can’t deliver food on TLC vehicles. So when i started driving i just forgot about the uber eats acc. But after a year a got message saying that i was Been deactivated because fraudulent account. I called them up call me I went to the office and the people help me out but they said that it was up to Uber whether they could activate me back again or not. Every time I call the Uber support I would have to explain my situation over and over again To the representatives help me out so I just left it at that. But I have proof that I never use my Uber eats account once I started driving I have to consider it a fraudulent activity
There is a difference between a service animal and a pet as much as I like dogs I don’t like to have them in my car 99.9 percent of the time its just apet The fact it’s they always call their dog 🐩 pet dog a service dog so most of the time 💯 it’s not a service dog
Service animals 99 percent of the time its aregular dog as pet if its a service dog they have to required by law certificate because most of the time its nota serviceanal at all
Except that in the US, per the ADA, there is no legally recognized certificate or certification. In Canada only certain provinces have a Provincial ID that certifies a team, and even in those provinces, it is not required that a service dog team beat registered and have a certificate. If a team chooses to not get the provincial certification, or in provinces where no certification exist, any issues would need to go through human rights.
So just pull up and act like you're crying uncontrollably and say I'm so sorry.. so-and-so had a heart attack I have to cancel. And then just pull off. That is of course if you think they're taking advantage of the system. I myself would be more than happy to help out people with real disabilities.
So let's say you've got a little bitch on your back seat that is nipping at you. Do you remember the movie Identity thief with Jason Bateman? The scene when they slam on the brakes causing the other one to hit their head and say oh my god there was a badger in the road. Send a little fucket flying and say that!
My friend I got deactivated for having duplicate accounts for ubereats, will I be able to get my account back need it for rideshare now. Got banned in 2019
Service dog and emotional support animal different things, you know a service dog by behavior of the animal, emotional support was a BS created to get pets where they shouldn’t be
Today i have my frist dog service with lift passenger i said no dogs sorry she said is the law u have to take me or u go be faired like very rude. i ask do u have any iD of the dog she give to me a paper with no name of the dog or somethinglike that .... well im deactivated ...ok next app bay bay lift. My 2023 car and my body is safe ...one bait of a big dog in this moment no thanks im to old for be in the hospital for $6 dollar
Question: When doing taxes for uber, do you use ubers tax form or one where you calculated the actual money you make and miles like through the stride app? Which should I use in your opinion?
Uber don't track miles that you driving to pickup location its after pickup and dropoff only uber track that and its free service uber give to riders and on end your screwed same time. So no used miles tracking
Going through all that extra effort to decline somebody with a service dog Hass to be a new level of scum bag every I'm a driver and I also have a service dog and I've been declined by drivers and I've had them deactivated
Just one more example of misclasdification drivers as independent contractors when they are really employees. Professor, re-read the part about "...employees cannot ask..." If we were Independent Contractors, we could accept or reject any ride which we do not feel safe in taking. Read the IRS publication 1976 Section 530 and also this information: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p1779.pdf
I hate that shit!! uber should force customers with pets to just use uber pet only thats it. I blame the rider because they should know to order uber pets! 😡

She admitted it wasn't and did not want to pay extra for uber pet driver and I took her anyway and after I dropped her off I had so much hair in my back seat that I had to stop working and go get the car detailed! She earned that one star! yes she did! I don't mind taking them but I do mind the asshats that abuse the system! I am slowly transitioning out of rideshare as I am getting just a bit tired of the mess!
You don't like it get a different job. The disabled people have as much right to take a uber as you do.
my car my rules and i'm a dog lover
They should provide documentation. We have a right to safety in our work environment.
Got to do to much to be a Uber driver. Pay not that good to have to deal with that.
Just got this stupid email this morning from Uber. 🤦🏾♂️
Let’s say I drop one service animal/dog very next customer going to the office he/she can seat on the dog's hair all around the car.
They are looking to thin the herd.
Why are the dogs are not required too wear a muzzle
One time a rider fooled me,she claimed it was a service dog but actually it was not.
If there's an animal, just keep the wheels rolling. I didn't have a safe place to park and didn't see the rider...
That is so RUDE!! It makes people late or screws up their whole day. Plus, it is DISCRIMINATION. YOU WILL BE DEACTIVATED FOR DOING THIS TO A SERVICE ANIMAL.
@@alisonallred7760Hi Karen, did you know for just 2 to 5 dollars extra, you can get an uber pet x ride?
Thank you for the information
I don't mind pets. But the short haired dogs that shed like crazy are the worst.
How about if you as a driver, can you bring your service animal along to drive with you? Like your PitBull.
Its also dangerous AF for a driver to be driving while having an allergic reaction
Also, the law states that you have to take them, but there is literally no laws that say you can't make them let you put the animal in the trunk
legally you cant separate a service dog from its handler or in any position that the animal cant task for the handler or alert
If you pull up slowly and drive off and cancel you won't get deactivated I've done it before
It's been a week I'm driving uber customers again after I quit uber rideshare driving in March 2020 and it is ridiculous.
Im a Uber driver and I’m allergic to Dog ?
You used to have to agree to service animal rides, now they made it mandatory. Not happy about that at all. Many peoples “service animals” as BS.
In 23k rides I've given like 12 of these rides.
Do you need a lawyer to appeal or you can do by self
Drive off . Problem solved
If I have dash cam footage of a dog that’s growling etc would that work
Where do you shut off Uber pet?
I’m fine with an animal but PAY ME! I also want to get paid extra for more than one passenger! 🐶 💰 🚙
I talked to them about that they didn't give two shots about my opinion on that bullshit
I haven’t being deactivated I have refused ride with pet ,legally in power reasons where simple those dogs where not to help them walk exc
Bring a Towel to use it every time you have a ride like that 😢😂😮
Thanks for sharing this information.
I lost my uber account because of service animal. I want Gig rocket but I can't afford to pay.
Do It Yourself DIY CEOs from Uber and Lyft
Great channel.
There is a difference between a service animal and a pet as much as I like dogs I don’t like to have them in my car 99.9 percent of the time its just apet The fact it’s they always call their dog 🐩 pet dog a service dog so most of the time 💯 it’s not a service dog
Sometimes if the owner keeps their animals in good condition while in my car I'll give them 5 Starz
Got banned in 2019
Let’s fight that wrongful deactivation for you. Here, use code HELP20 www.gigrocket.com/p/deactivated-to-reactivated-the-white-glove-course
If I see a dog am out
Question: When doing taxes for uber, do you use ubers tax form or one where you calculated the actual money you make and miles like through the stride app? Which should I use in your opinion?
Uber don't track miles that you driving to pickup location its after pickup and dropoff only uber track that and its free service uber give to riders and on end your screwed same time. So no used miles tracking
@@rabidgoon if we didn’t get a 1099 from Uber, do we need to just report how much we made from Uber?
I will no longer except Uber Pet Ride, due to all the dog hair. I ❤ Dogs
Just need proof the Animal is a service dog.
Going through all that extra effort to decline somebody with a service dog Hass to be a new level of scum bag every I'm a driver and I also have a service dog and I've been declined by drivers and I've had them deactivated
Tell rider you have cynophobia thru the app. Then the evidence is there.
From what I've heard, service animals are groomed to the point they rarely shed.
Just one more example of misclasdification drivers as independent contractors when they are really employees. Professor, re-read the part about "...employees cannot ask..." If we were Independent Contractors, we could accept or reject any ride which we do not feel safe in taking.
Read the IRS publication 1976 Section 530 and also this information:
www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p1779.pdf
hi
nobody should drive for uber and LYFT these rideshshare company who does not values the card working drivers who bring searius money to company
I hate that shit!! uber should force customers with pets to just use uber pet only thats it. I blame the rider because they should know to order uber pets! 😡
Service animals go through training and are licensed by the state so the owners have an ID badge proves it's an service animals here in New York state.
There IS NO identification given to service animals in the United States.
I take all . Uber Pets. .Look you never deny one anyways ADA best read rules . Send all too me ..I take all Breeder Groomer send all to me . Blah blah . LOVE pets .
