The 2 biggest for me are upfront info shows a certain time for pickup and drop off but when I check it through my WAZE navigation it can show it's 20% to 50% longer time wise.. But My main cancellation reason is the app /screen interaction. As I'm trying to do something on the screen (expand, reduce, scroll to other geographic area on screen (usually looking for surge areas), turn off app. Etc) a trip request or trip radar will come on screen (at different places on the screen... Requests near the bottom radar near the top) so it accidentally accepts the trip without me getting to see the details because it happened so quickly and unlike lyft's app. after I accept I can't see the price and destination anymore so I just cancel. I'm not taking any rides for which I don't know how much I'm getting paid or where it's going
I missed this in a reply but you are right about that too. I don't know how many times I went to navigate or clear a request and then accepted another by accident because it popped up at the wrong time. But I have figured out that whenever you are close to dropping someone off a fare will show up before you are about to make a turn or figure out where you are at. It's Ubers sad effort to make you accept a fare you didnt want to take by making you accept a ride to see your drop off point.
1. Safety. 2. Ridiculous fare for long drives. Example. Savannah GA to Jacksonville FL for $75.00 Dlrs (120 miles one way and to another State), Savannah to Hilton Head SC for $37.00 (44 miles one way).
If you look at various social media, I see most drivers cancel on going to places where they have to WAIT... supermarkets, hospitals/medical offices, and trips with extra stops.
@@andrade__o8653 As independent contractors we work with both rideshare apps. Sometimes after accepting an Uber ride I get a Lyft request with better pay and shorter distance. So I cancel the Uber one. I guess if the rideshare companies don’t want us to cancel, just make us employees so that we cannot cancel rides. But they fought so hard, not to classify drivers as employees. So unfortunately, cancellations are going to happen.
They add stops right before pick up. I pull over send a message saying since you've added stops without letting me know first I have canceled your ride and find another driver.
I remember cancelling on some dude at the airport. I thought I made great time and when I got out to help him with his bags, he was all over me asking what took so long and he was swearing. And I was like I'm not putting up with this guy in my car. Nope. So I took his suitcase out of my trunk, rolled it toward him and said call a different driver who will get here quicker. I got into my car, started driving away and this maniac chased after me. I heard a fist on my trunk, but the bottom line is I'm sure I made the right decision. Hopefully he broke his Fing wrist the prik.
This is what they seem to forget. It’s YOUR car!! Lol. This is why I’m so hesitant to do rideshare. I do food delivery and other gig apps , even UberEats.. but I know myself… if people get into MY car acting entitled they’re getting kicked out and I’ll end up with bad ratings.
IKR!! One of the reasons I like airport runs so much is *usually* everyone is pretty chill from their flight and they either want to sleep or read their phones. I did report him and I wrote down his name so I'd remember him. I just know if I had driven him, he would have cancelled on me or btched the entire way. Plus I knew there was a 0% chance at a tip. No thank you to PAX like him.
When I have to wait more than 3 minutes, time to get a cancellation fee. I'll park myself in another area pretend I'm there and get the fee. Passengers know better not to make us wait but they do, also they set reservation for that reason so they have more time to get ready, these riders know how to adapt to the system but we drivers also know how to adapt to their sneaky behaviors and also to Uber tricky business
I've learned a lot about algorithms and how they can be used to modify human behavior since driving Uber. I have a new algorithm, if you think you don't have to be ready because your driver will wait 5 minutes or so, you're ride will be canceled.
I keep Uber and Lyft apps, running simultaneously if I accept an Uber ride, and most of the time when I do, it’s grudgingly because it barely meets my minimum requirements, and a better ride comes up on Lyft, your damn sure I will cancel Uber. And vice versa. They could both avoid drivers doing this if they just paid a decent rate to begin with.
Less pay and more mileage, safety, wait too long for customer, too much traffic en-route, quick change of less paying trip, algorithm use by Uber, toll road and many more.
Riders that can’t come to the pickup spots assigned by the app. Riders that take 5 minutes to come outside. Areas in downtown where it’s illegal to stop and pickup riders!
Screen interaction is the biggest reason. The offline/online button is hidden down the screen, but when they send you an order, you accidentally click on it
Here is the other reason for high cancellations and it revolves around certain locations, Walmart especially, which I think Uber has a relationship with. In my area there are two Walmarts on major roads. When offers come in I'll see the road for a pickup but a better destination for a dropoff. Once you accept the fare it still won't show you its Walmart until you are about a mile away. You can zoom in on the map and it will show you a location close to a Walmart, but until you are about a mile away it won't show you the pickup is at Walmart. So you have to commit or cancel and kill your time getting there. Uber has probablt worked hard at this trying to find a way to keep hiding it for drivers. Uber knows drivers hate Walmart's as its people that don't tip, have a lot of sh*t to throw in and destroy your car. Uber can pay you peanuts, but charge riders out the ying yang as thy know they are desperate people. But they force you to keep commiting to the ride. After five months I've figured out if I can't determine if its a good fare or a Walmart charity ride I'll just pass and move on. Its not worth the five or six bucks being offered.
Because the ride alert popup is too damn sensitive. If you are doing anything on your phone, (texting, internet browsing, navigating the Uber app, etc) it automatically accepts the ride because the pop up comes up so fast.
By the way guys, I just wanna let you know our bill was passed today here in Minneapolis so we’re just waiting for the governor to sign it in three days

ON TOP OF SAFETY CONCERNS, I DON'T WANT TO GO TO THAT DESTINATION IS BECAUSE I SAW A BIG F,,ING $3 DOLLAR RIDE FOR 20 MINUTES RIDES AND 10 MILES PICK UP 👷👷👷
I cancelled a rider who was arguing with me about where I was at an airport. I knew clearly where I was. He had walked to the wrong location. It’s confusing, happens all the time, but he said I was lying and “f-ing with” him. So I just cancelled. There were 50 drivers in the Lyft queue. Then Lyft said they might suspend my account, because I’d only cancelled two other rides in the past seven days! I raised hell with the help line and they apologized. So 🤷♂️
My main reason for declining is the person is 20 minutes away and they are only going a mile and a half down the road. That's gonna be 30 minutes of my time for $3. But I guess that's why my acceptance rate is 60% xD
I could go on and on about cancellations. And there is no one one reason. I have talked to a few older and experienced Uber drivers and they told me accept every ride and then decide if you want it and let it go if its a buzzkill or a better fare comes up, cancelling is ok. And I see that sometimes when a fare comes up with a location but it turns out to be somewhere else, or a better fare shows up. I don't like that strategy as its not good for riders or drivers.. In my area a lot of people are frustrated by constant driver cancellations and I try to explain the business to them and why it happens. They don't like the truth in that we as drivers are all struggling to survive and sometimes people have to cancel to make ends meets and maximize earnings. Riders just want to get somewhere and I am building a reputation as someone that is reliable and doesn't cancel, but lately I have had to change that and its all because of Ubers tactics. In In my area Uber has a big problem determining the correct city when original requests come in, some of these rides will show a city that's nice, but when the air clears you can tell Uber lied and gave you a destination that's not nice, much longer than expected, or a Walmart or Grocery store where you know its going to typically be someone with two carts full of SH*T and want you to make even more stops on the way home. Have to cancel because its going to be a long wait, really bad roads, traffic or construction zones. And lately, Uber had been constantly tweaking down the amount paid to you. And god help anyone that accepts a ride over 20 miles, You will get killed accepting those. Another reason for cancellations is riders themselves. After a few months you figure out people by name or location but since Uber doesn't show a lot off the bat once you accept a ride and then see its someone who makes you wait constantly, wants you to make stops without being paid for it, in a high traffic area or slow, you cancel and move on. Especially if they don't tip which is the majority. Last but not least is Ubers algorithm which makes no sense whatsoever. I can be next to a rider and they want me to pick them up but I'll be a tertiary option to pick up the fare sometimes. In the same time frame I'll get a few requests to pick up someone ten miles away and get paid 5 bucks to drive them another ten miles, no thank you. But I'll only be show the fare for the person next to me when I guess all other options are exhausted, which means Ubers tries to steer business to drivers that are lab rats and don't cancel first and then see who else is left around. The algorithm doesn't understand relationships and trust. I could increase my earnings by 30% and Ubers earning as well if they figured that out. And do it thru Uber so they didn't have to worry about privatizing the rides. But they all have their heads up their arses..
What I don't like is if we are independent contractors, how could they penalize us for our decision. In Saint louis in City, they send us down alleys and the south side some street they send us down are the wrong way. I just feel like if we are not employees, then stop treating us like employees.
In April 2023, I had to cancel on my pax at Angel Stadium bc the police placed orange cones so I could not turn right onto State College Blvd. I called the pax to explain the road block & that they should walk to some place more accessible. I accepted another ride request and tried to enter Angel Stadium from the opposite direction but the police had placed more orange cones along the center divider so I could not turn left into the stadium. So I had to cancel again. I also called this pax to suggest they walk a few blocks to a different pick up location but the pax barely spoke English. Why are the stadiums making it so incredibly difficult for people to get an Uber or Lyft ride? So frustrating. Why is there so little cooperation with some of these venues (post pandemic)?? Maybe Uber & Lyft corporate offices needs ro contact them & ask nicely if they could be more accommodating to rideshare drivers. Is this only happening to me?
I agree we have the same issues here in Australia. Riders booking in areas where it’s blocked and you can’t get to the pick up. Uber punishing drivers for canceling because they can’t get to the pick up. They also punish riders if they cancel after 5 mins. Uber needs to send a message to the rider as soon as they open the app. Telling them to walk out from stadiums.
Camden Yards in Baltimore has made the handicapped pick impossible to get to unless the person leaves at the end of eight innings and you are already in the lot waiting you can't get in until all the other traffic is gone.
I noticed that traffic officers were manipulating the flow of traffic so that the people who parked at Angel Stadium could exit the parking lot more quickly but unfortunately blocked access to Uber/Lyft drivers. I hate leaving my pax stranded but I had no choice but to cancel twice. That's 2 strikes against me & my cancellation rate. Bummer. Makes me want to avoid Angel's Stadium. Seems like there was more cooperation BEFORE Covid. If I were the Uber or Lyft CEO, I would try to work something out with these major sporting/entertainment venues. Or risk losing the public's confidence in the service. Nobody likes being left stranded. That's a Blinding Flash of the Obvious (BFO).
I went from 100% acceptances to 3% and the cause for that drop is because the lower pay that Uber is paying me to take the ride . We the drivers should be allowed to put our own price on the ride .
Well my primary reason for the cancellation is I been on rush few time at row to accept new ride .I have no time to make a rational decision and I realized the trip is total ripoff. Then cancel and feel so much relief.l
The app seriously needs to be fully transparent on pickup and drop off locations before accepting a ride. Not giving full detail to a driver is super shady. Also he needs to do a big survey for the drivers and then he can clearly see why there are cancelations. Taking a guess at why there are so many cancelations is not proper. Put out a mass survey to all the drivers, see whats going on through the surveys, and build a better rideshare system that makes everyone happy. For starters he can stop being greedy. Thats a huge start right there.
I cancel because uber makes it sooooo extremely easy accidently accept a trip you don't want or didn't see where it was going because your being bombarded with pings and radar trips while trying to drive. Also when your busy concentrating dropping off passengers and forget shut off trip request they seem to know the exact time your reaching down to swipe end trip and a trip request pops up about 1 millimeter before you touch the screen and BOOM you just accepted some upfront trash not knowing anything about the price, where how far or anything
In NJ we only get how far is the pickup and travel directions and distance. We have to guess where they are going. I have gotten to some and told them no I not going to that town or NYC. When they start yelling and screaming I tell them to complain to Uber. I don't work for free
**Lyft/Uber pings me with a trip** **I except** -- immediately get a message from the Pax -- Pax: "What is taking you so long... I am going to be late" **Cancel**
The biggest reason I cancel trip that I’ve accepted is because it came so quick that I didn’t realize where it was going. Or I was gonna accept a different one then it flipped you know it they flip them as you’re going to accept it, they shotgun gun in the trips And you go to accept one and it flips to something else that you don’t want and you have to cancel it because it doesn’t pay enough. That’s the first thing they gotta do is change that. And I decline long trips all the time because I don’t get paid for the return. I’m not a charity. Also, after you except the trip, the destination disappears and you cannot see it until you start the trip. Luckily I use Mystro and Para. They catch the destination and I can look back at it. I’m Finna throw so many trips at you literally crashes the app. That’s really stupid and of course they’re throwing these things at you while you’re driving in traffic also so it makes it dangerous. That’s another reason why I use Mystro. Mystro is like an answering machine for apps for the trips.
On Friday and especially Saturday night I dont even wait the 5 minutes anymore, thats burning premium gas and waiting time! Pay more!!! 3.24 for a ride is not worth it!
All my cancellations are stupid pop-ups, you touch anywhere on the screen and it accepts. Dangerous and deceptive. Had a 20 item order Walmart pop up while driving, hit a bump..finger touched upper left corner of screen and it accepted. Cancelled it. My CR went from 2% to 22% in 2 minutes.
My reason is because I just don’t like going to jersey at all then dealing with that traffic back as well ..plus I can’t work in the city only eligible to work suburbs 🤷🏽♂️ so yea
Going off topic to the Uber minor terms of service. As an independent contractor, I am not responsible for verifying passenger accounts. The fact that Uber does not collect vital data from passengers that would include date of birth, legal name etc... It is the negligence of Uber to not collect that data, and they would be legally liable.
My top two biggest reasons, bad passenger behavior, but the number one reason I cancel ride is if I’m sitting in waiting for more than a minute. A passenger should already be ready to go as soon as they put that ride request in so sitting in waiting when you can be out picking up somebody else.
Uber should not allow to change trips like add stops or different destinations after accepted by the driver. That trigger my cancelation automatically .
Anything can occur in the process of a request, a vehicle incident on highway of Main Street, road closures etc. and the driver is unable to complete task.
I had a drunk attorney threaten to sue me after his dumbass left his wallet in the car, instead of just asking me to return it. I threw it out the window and gave him a one star. FU
Dara puts drivers in harms way in San Diego, CA! Lyft lux is the PREFERRED here! Uber MATH is does NOT work in San Diego,CA! Dara charges the customer and pays the driver a WHOLE LOT less! DELETE UBER ALREADY! Dara is DISHONEST!
If it wasn't for the good people.....I'd rather pick up animals. I will never let a soul sit in my vehicle ever again that has the ability to destroy my livelihood. Those people who tainted my vehicle with their worldly sespool existence...when they get in the car I instantly feel a dead carcass entered my vehicle...it's sad .........
It really doesnt matter where you pick people up. My worst riders were rich folk. Good and bad everywhere. my main complaint is trip radar. Fuuuck trip radar..
You can’t assume that the undesirable destination is due to safety. The undesirable destination can be and is mostly for me an area where I am unlikely to get a rider back to the area I want to be located at.
I cancel when they are too far away. I canceled on a guy tonight who was nearly 6 miles away, low rating... 4.56 and in bad area. If they have a fake name.. that is scary or obscene, or a low rating. The area is important but not the main reason I cancel.
@RideShare Professor you should start a rideshare company. Start collecting money from all gig riders. I'll contribute myself, it will work I guarantee it.
Trained qualified staff? That is an absolute laugh! With every single issue that I have had, I have talked to no less than three different people on every single issue in chat. When I would call support, in a live person would finally answer after a close to 30 minutes instead of doing the chat, there was such a language barrier like it was somebody from a third world country that spoke extremely broken English, that had no idea what I was saying or what the problem was. They would always need 3-5 minutes to review the chat conversation, and it seemed like reading comprehension was not there. Also in my state of Florida, the closest hub and only hub is in Miami. They're just throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks!
I was assaulted by a passenger that refused to get out of my vehicle. The police were called and arrived took the report and I reported to Uber. They deactivated my account. Damn
Upfront time changes upwards as soon as you accept the ride surely then the upfront money does not make sense either. Riders take their own sweet time to be on time for the money paid I don’t wait more than a minute
Not mine. My main reason for canceling is when GOING TO GET THE RIDER IS LONGER THAN THE ACTUAL TRIP THAT PAYS ME. But I actually wish Uber would do what Lyft does…show us HOW LONG THE RIDER BEEN ON THE PLATFORM HOW MANY TRIPS AND THE RATING.
It's all BS. Some Desperado Driver will take the trip. Only half the story is being told. Uber is pointing fingers at drivers and not the real problem.
UBER requires background check for driver, on contrary why UBER doesn’t require background check of passengers. The drivers and passengers both should be free from danger.
@@noahjohansen6747 My cancelation rate is 35% and I receive hundreds of ride requests a day. It doesn't matter how high my cancelation rate goes regarding amount of ride requests.
I don't usually cancel if I accept the ride more than likely going to pick it up I will cancel if they're at the wrong location and I have to do too much pick them up. Riders should tell the driver anything that will help and this can be avoided. Another reason would be that it's pretty obvious that they are minors in a school zone I don't want to deal with it.
Yes!! End multiple stops too. Weed shops, Liquor stores, drive throughs, end this. I cancel all these trips and If I accidentally accept it I explain I will not wait to long so take your "anchors" with you. if you don't I drive it to the local police station and drop it there as a lost item.
We must open our own ridesharing company and it's more than 2 millions ride-sharing and delivery drivers in the usa 500$ to 1000$ and we get more than a billions $and drivers gonna be ready to open a rideshare company own by drivers and this is the best ideas ever and rideshare professor stand up for this idea and you are gonna be the first CEO of the new rideshare company own by drivers thanks
1. 5 mins waiting time for 100 rides a week =500 mins a week sitting and waiting for riders and you spending more mins to go pick up the rider doesn’t even count .(I don’t see you , be right there don’t work , canceled and move on the next one) 2. Longer ride and way less pay , don’t even accept 3. Trashy ride don’t even worth to pick up . 4. Any rides doesn’t make sense as business mind , canceled 5. Too many stops on 1 rides , canceled 6. Pick up location blocking by the traffic , canceled 7. Shared ride calling in the middle of the carpool lane , canceled for safety 8. Destinations gets too far away from civilization, canceled
I don’t do airport rides anymore because no one tips and there is no one to get a ride back out because we are over saturated with drivers. I drive in Denver and every time I look at the airport waiting lot with both Lyft and Uber it’s always full. There are Times we have 170 cars with Uber and 120 with Lyft waiting That’s 290 cars ahead of me. It’s out of control. 😂it’s like the United Nations in 1 parking lot. 😅
Exactly uber is already using AI Systems in driver support and all support is third rate offshore they closed down a'll the Uber hubs here in Australia so dri ers have to deal with Chat AI Systems and support staff who have no idea what's going on as their system will flagged drivers and they will cop a warning or deactivation. Here in Australia drivers do not get full details of where riders are going or how much pay they will get for that trip. That's why there is high cancellation and media blaming drivers
please do a video on lift new scedule rides they do not give the driver the cancell fee i have done at least 5 rides that have been canceled under 10 mins after ap said prepairing ride they charge the customer $ 7,00 give us nothing cancelled under 1 hour
Dara is Delusional...He's making his 50 million/yr and are directing his team to squeeze everything out of drivers pay so they are force to MAKE IT MAKE SENSE when accepting rides...💯..
#1 reason is Safety, when ur pax is drunk or suspicious, #2 reason is Pay, it just doesn't worth ur time and petrol. Just waste of time tbh. The last reason is nowhere to stop or bus lanes where you get a ticket.
Greetings to you, Professor! Hope youre doing well!🎉❤ Safety concerns and suspicious riders accts.!😮 Very true..Low ratings on rider's accts by other drivers, too!😮 Excellent annalysis on this subject and the CEOs findings, based on his experiences as an Uber Rideshare driver, himself!🎉❤ Thx and stay safe ans may all your shifts be prosperous !🎉❤ Agree 100% being an Independent Contractor, one has a right to choose and decline and CXL, unsafe rides or riders!🎉❤
Accidentally accepted when window suddenly popup in the middle of something
Just turn off the appear on top option. No more pop up
Same. Like Uber I’m not for play play.
Same!

Exactly. My most common reason is literally BY MISTAKE
Yes!!! I Agree!! I hate that and I sure do cancel the rides too!! I'm not taking nothing without knowing where I'm going.
Exactly 💯
I missed this in a reply but you are right about that too. I don't know how many times I went to navigate or clear a request and then accepted another by accident because it popped up at the wrong time. But I have figured out that whenever you are close to dropping someone off a fare will show up before you are about to make a turn or figure out where you are at. It's Ubers sad effort to make you accept a fare you didnt want to take by making you accept a ride to see your drop off point.
Same. Totally.
1. Safety.
2. Ridiculous fare for long drives. Example. Savannah GA to Jacksonville FL for $75.00 Dlrs (120 miles one way and to another State), Savannah to Hilton Head SC for $37.00 (44 miles one way).
Yes Those pay rates should actually be MORE than double what they are.
I did a ride 550 miles and I got ~ 450. Remove gas 150.00=300 for 1000 miles round trip. I was expecting at the very rock-bottom at least twice that.
Shiiid….I would have left that right on the app or I would have told the client I’m not out there unless you pay me privately $200!
If you look at various social media, I see most drivers cancel on going to places where they have to WAIT... supermarkets, hospitals/medical offices, and trips with extra stops.
It depends on the markets time of day ect.
If you see supermarket or Costco CANCELL it, you will spending too much free times for a short ride.
The number one reason it's the money , because it's not worth it period .
When l cancel l give a reason , not worth it .
Agreed!!! Same with ME!
Why accepted in the first place ???
Yeah, this is a Business! We’re not employees of UBER and we’re certainly not running for free!
#1 reason is adding stops after the ride was accepted!
They add stops right before pick up. I pull over send a message saying since you've added stops without letting me know first I have canceled your ride and find another driver.
@@blockshaker 😂😂😂😂
@@blockshaker I had a passenger who kept changing her destination during the ride🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ I wish that I would have canceled
I am like you… if they add I cancel
My main reasons for cancelations are that the trip doesnt pay enough
So then you should not accept the trip in the first place
Agreed, I say no for long rides with short money as well.. Depends on the time of day as well
0:05 I laughed very hard when the Professor said "Dara Khosrowshahi my favorite friend." Thanks Professor for making me laugh.
Professor omitted one between favorite and friend: "lying"😂
I remember cancelling on some dude at the airport. I thought I made great time and when I got out to help him with his bags, he was all over me asking what took so long and he was swearing. And I was like I'm not putting up with this guy in my car. Nope. So I took his suitcase out of my trunk, rolled it toward him and said call a different driver who will get here quicker. I got into my car, started driving away and this maniac chased after me. I heard a fist on my trunk, but the bottom line is I'm sure I made the right decision. Hopefully he broke his Fing wrist the prik.
Wow! Smh
@@Michael_W007 completely understand.
That should have taught his ass a lesson about respect 😂😂😂😂
When I have to wait more than 3 minutes, time to get a cancellation fee. I'll park myself in another area pretend I'm there and get the fee. Passengers know better not to make us wait but they do, also they set reservation for that reason so they have more time to get ready, these riders know how to adapt to the system but we drivers also know how to adapt to their sneaky behaviors and also to Uber tricky business
I’ll just say could not find driver and 0 cancellation fee
I've learned a lot about algorithms and how they can be used to modify human behavior since driving Uber. I have a new algorithm, if you think you don't have to be ready because your driver will wait 5 minutes or so, you're ride will be canceled.
😂😂
Preach that 5 mins need to be cut to 3 or two they are using or to play games i have many bone walking out right as it about to hit zero
We are definitely not independent contractors. More like glorified employees with the independent contractor tag over our heads.
Every time Dara says something, my BS alarm goes off.
An undesirable area is any area that is over 60 miles away from our starting point knowing that we have to come back empty. UNDESIRABLE.
Spot On! . Many at times that's me! And telling myself What the Hell was I thinking!
Someone remind him if the money don’t make sense the trip will be canceled

2.24(f) Beginning July 1, 2024, and each July 1 thereafter, the minimum compensation
2.25amounts under paragraph (b), clauses (1) to (4), must be adjusted annually by the percentage
2.26increase, if any, in the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers published by the
2.27United States Department of Labor.
2.28 Sec. 3. [181C.04] DEACTIVATION.
2.29(a) A TNC must have clear written rules stating the circumstances under which a driver
2.30may be deactivated or sanctioned, either permanently or temporarily, and stating fair,
3.1objective, and reasonable procedures for a driver to request a reconsideration of a
3.2deactivation. These rules and any updates must be available both online and in written form
3.3to the drivers at least 30 days before they are enforceable. The rules must clearly list the
3.4circumstances that constitute minor infractions and major infractions, and indicate those
3.5infractions that subject a driver to deactivation or other sanction and the corresponding
3.6number of days or range of days of deactivation.
3.7(b) A TNC must provide the driver with a written basis for any proposed deactivation
3.8or other sanction, including the alleged infraction and the rule or rules the TNC alleges have
3.9been violated. The driver has a right to a meeting with the TNC to reconsider the deactivation.
3.10The deactivated driver must have an opportunity to present their position and any other
3.11relevant information or witnesses regarding the alleged rule violation. The TNC must
3.12consider any information presented by the driver. For a deactivation to be upheld, there
3.13must be evidence under the totality of the circumstances to find that it is more likely than
3.14not that a rule violation subjecting the driver to deactivation has occurred. A traffic ticket
3.15or other traffic or criminal charge alone is not conclusive of a rule violation unless there
3.16has been a conviction.
3.17(c) Except as provided in paragraphs (f) to (h), a driver must request a deactivation
3.18reconsideration meeting within 15 calendar days of receiving notice of a deactivation. A
3.19deactivation reconsideration meeting must occur within 15 calendar days of receipt of a
3.20driver's request for a deactivation reconsideration meeting. If a deactivation reconsideration
3.21meeting does not occur within the required time period, and no continuance is agreed to,
3.22the alleged violation must be dismissed and cannot form the basis of any further deactivation
3.23or other sanction, unless the driver is later found guilty of a crime that endangers public
3.24safety or of a violation that constitutes a major infraction.
3.25(d) If a rule violation is not substantiated at the deactivation reconsideration meeting,
3.26the TNC must immediately reinstate the driver's account.
3.27(e) This section does not affect deactivations for economic reasons that are not targeted
3.28at a particular driver or drivers.
3.29(f) Any driver who has been deactivated by a TNC from January 1, 2021, until the day
3.30of enactment, has the right to reapply for driver status and request a deactivation
3.31reconsideration meeting, consistent with the procedures provided in this section, to determine
3.32if there is a valid basis to uphold the deactivation, and whether the driver should be reinstated.
4.1(g) By August 1, 2023, a TNC must provide notice of a right to a deactivation
4.2reconsideration meeting to all drivers deactivated since January 1, 2021, by contacting the
4.3drivers through the following means, in no particular order, until actual contact is made:
4.4(1) emailing notice to the last known email address;
4.5(2) texting notice to the last known cell phone number;
4.6(3) mailing written notice to the last known home address; and
4.7(4) calling the last known phone number of the deactivated driver.
4.8(h) A deactivated driver notified under paragraph (g) has 90 days to request a deactivation

4.16pregnancy, or to remedy previous discriminatory behavior.
4.17(b) A TNC may not retaliate against or discipline a driver for raising a complaint or
4.18pursuing enforcement of the provisions of this chapter.

Their not paid enough for the ride
So 🤷♂️
I disregard all of their BS warnings. They're all generally just a bluff -- especially if you have a high rating.
My main reason for declining is the person is 20 minutes away and they are only going a mile and a half down the road. That's gonna be 30 minutes of my time for $3. But I guess that's why my acceptance rate is 60% xD
Exactly, who the fuck would even accept that???
I’m right there with you. It’s not worth 15 to 20 minutes to earn 3 or 4 bucks
Pay is the number one reason 4.00 for an XL with 6 people 2 miles total took 36 minutes? What?
Don’t even consider under 9 dollars for that . In fact don’t take that b s
Yes I've had that same thing happen many times at sporting and concert events, the police have the area blocked off
Camden Yards in Baltimore has made the handicapped pick impossible to get to unless the person leaves at the end of eight innings and you are already in the lot waiting you can't get in until all the other traffic is gone.
They know why they don’t want to be transparent with drivers. Uber is become a joke of company
Lyft is better, you can see everything, unlike Uber, you can only see it when you got ping.
**Lyft/Uber pings me with a trip**
**I except**
-- immediately get a message from the Pax --
Pax: "What is taking you so long... I am going to be late"
**Cancel**
That's me!
@@500Angelface Amen
I'm sure poor pay is a close second.
When the passengers request uber be outside ready to go. The wait time should be only 1 min.
I cancel when I don’t see rider waiting for me outside…🤣
Anything can occur in the process of a request, a vehicle incident on highway of Main Street, road closures etc. and the driver is unable to complete task.
My #1 reason is problems with the route. Trains, drawbridges, traffic, dangerous road, flooding
We are not independent contractors
We are Uber slaves… 😂😂😂
You stole the word out of my mouth .😂
Slaves 5.0
Slaves? I make $40+/hr, no cap, and can drive 24/7 with no gaps using Uber and Lyft in St Louis. Slaves....😂
You can LOG OFF anytime you want, BUT you can never leave!
You're preaching today Professor. Thank you for commenting on this. Blessings always!
I had rider.. name was scrw daddy
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Blade, lady with problems, mama, daddy, corrupt, Jdub, sexy, ratchet, money, drama are just a few
Damn
If a rider starts writing me messages trying to rush me or anything like that I’m will cancel.
Does he not understand how the app works???
Trips with multiple stops, Funky names with no pics.
Upfront time changes upwards as soon as you accept the ride surely then the upfront money does not make sense either. Riders take their own sweet time to be on time for the money paid I don’t wait more than a minute
We cancel because you don’t know how to run a company properly
This isn’t Iran Dara.
Shitti app, all mine are accidental, I go to tap log out a ride pops up.
It's all BS. Some Desperado Driver will take the trip. Only half the story is being told. Uber is pointing fingers at drivers and not the real problem.
After request is accepted, Riders edit trips, they add stop change destination, or not at location indicated on the app.
UBER requires background check for driver, on contrary why UBER doesn’t require background check of passengers. The drivers and passengers both should be free from danger.
Dara missed his calling. He should have been a comedian. 😒
no ten dollar trip is worth my life or my property
From Friday until Saturday, I was only sent about 5-10 rides. I don't know what's up with that!!
Because they limit your rides if your cancelation rate is too low. I never dealt with that in CA, but in Dallas they did that to me.
They shadow banning us 😢
@@noahjohansen6747have you checked the wait times I live in your area so I know
@@noahjohansen6747 My cancelation rate is 35% and I receive hundreds of ride requests a day. It doesn't matter how high my cancelation rate goes regarding amount of ride requests.
I cancel cause the trip request pop up in my screen when im doing something else
No car seat… or late arrival..also
If the compensation was" fare" i would never cancel after up front pricing my cancelation rate soared and cherry picking began
Isn't he the one who wasn't taking trips to Oakland when he moonlighted as a driver?
Yes!! End multiple stops too. Weed shops, Liquor stores, drive throughs, end this. I cancel all these trips and If I accidentally accept it I explain I will not wait to long so take your "anchors" with you. if you don't I drive it to the local police station and drop it there as a lost item.
Anchors,funny ha,ha
Does anyone know if Minnesota past the law giving drivers $1.45 cents a mile ? If so then great , the rest of the country will follow
Today I rejected 2 trips from Houston to Austin for $84
We must open our own ridesharing company and it's more than 2 millions ride-sharing and delivery drivers in the usa 500$ to 1000$ and we get more than a billions $and drivers gonna be ready to open a rideshare company own by drivers and this is the best ideas ever and rideshare professor stand up for this idea and you are gonna be the first CEO of the new rideshare company own by drivers thanks
1. 5 mins waiting time for 100 rides a week =500 mins a week sitting and waiting for riders and you spending more mins to go pick up the rider doesn’t even count .(I don’t see you , be right there don’t work , canceled and move on the next one)
2. Longer ride and way less pay , don’t even accept
3. Trashy ride don’t even worth to pick up .
4. Any rides doesn’t make sense as business mind , canceled
5. Too many stops on 1 rides , canceled
6. Pick up location blocking by the traffic , canceled
7. Shared ride calling in the middle of the carpool lane , canceled for safety
He is the artificial intelligence
I cancel if I see someone with an animal
Everything I complain about is everything you just said, so you are a 100% right
please do a video on lift new scedule rides they do not give the driver the cancell fee i have done at least 5 rides that have been canceled under 10 mins after ap said prepairing ride they charge the customer $ 7,00 give us nothing cancelled under 1 hour
The number 1 it's the pay .
If the money it's right , not only l will never cancel but l would go anywhere .😅
Most common reason is it pops up you accept on accident 97% aren't worth it profits wise no wonder you cancel
I cancel rides for FUN! 😂
My main reason is touching the app for any reason only to accept a trip that quickly pops up on my screen.
Because the Uber app pops up until I turned it off but the main reason is preserving a surge for a decent ride
