    Popping back in here late to say how much the lens of how fun a deck is for the table is fantastic and very much appreciated. It’s easy to brew something that plays like a Stradivarius in practice but leaves you feeling deflated as you watch your fellow players lose their own energy and engagement as they experience it at the table. More deep dives into your decks please!

      Thanks my friend, it was a really transformative video to make - I've gone from 19 decks to 10 and many others are getting overhauled. Always appreciate your support.

    I enjoy it when creators make videos like this. My son was born last spring, so I'm the guy that gets to play once a month, if I'm lucky. Which led me to disassemble the majority of my decks. 15 down to 4ish when all is said and done. I wanted to condense/retool and have decks that are enjoyable to play with and against. Haven't gotten to play any, but its been an enjoyable endeavor.

      I'm glad this video found you. After this, I am considering condensing my roster also, would like to know a few decks really well.

    Love this way of thinking on the commander format!
    More people should led their focus on the experience on others.
    Having multiple decks of varying power levels and differing experiences for all players are always nice (and in my opinion needed) to have a good time at commander, with random people or your play group

      Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. Changes to where I live and my working pattern means I'm now the guy in the video who can't get to game knight as often as he would like and we recently had an evening where my wacky, experimental decks got stomped by high power and it was pretty disheartning. But I realise it wasn't about power level, it was about not communicating beforehand or bringing, as you say, a range of different power level decks.

      SAME! It's changed how I approach building decks. Really glad I went through the process.

    I am working on a Temur deck with the 12th Doctor and Clara (as green). It’s designed to demonstrate fun enchantments that let me opponents draw more cards, cast more spells, and generally “do the thing”. Stuff like Burgeoning, Mana Flare, Forced Fruition, Dream Halls, Aluren, Sneak Attack, etc. Hoping it will be a good play experience for others!

      THAT is a deck I wish I had thought of - amazing. I shall have a list when you have one, thank you, please! What's your win con?

    Stangg was my first deck that I built. Insane ramp and card draw if you let him go a turn.

      He's amazing, completely original design that does the craziest stuff. A top five deck (favourites) for sure.

    I’m sorry, I have to be that commenter who vehemently disagrees with you. Tom Bombadil has the exact same problem as Niv Mizzet, I don’t think having effects on sagas are that much better than them being in the yard. Bar that your top ones are some of best game experiences, I do think Samut should be way higher though. Stang is a nightmare to play against though, I feel he gets really immune to removal pretty quick. It’s telling though that all your bottom decks feature a lot of Sakashima: much like spider-man in the 90s, you have a clone problem.

      Hey! Firstly, I want you to know you directly influenced the placement of Gor Muldrak - see, I do listen to opponent feedback. I appreciate your thoughts about my choices - for me, Tom B presents all the information to opponents very openly and that's no different to say, someone playing elves or humans that are all buffing each other - I agree both involving lots of tracking and questioning but Niv's spells in the yard are stacked on top of each other - for me, it's about what's visual. I'm interested in why you feel Samut is higher? I should play her more . . . . As for Stangg, I knew that would be controversial 🤭and . . . I start Sakashima therapy next week. Pray for me.

    If your number one palatable commander has the word "Eminence" on it...
    Dang...
    I think your playgroup just has a high pain tolerance. 😅

    • @mtgspecs

      I hear you! 😂. I think he gets a pass because of how I've built it; it's in a different class to Edgar, the win rate is so-so. I'm just doing dumb stuff with changelings and lords. I watched someone play it with dragons the other day - jeez, it certainly can be a busted build, I'm too busy trying to get a win with Ramses, Assassin Lord 🙏.

    • @mufasafalldown8401
      @mufasafalldown8401 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mtgspecs That makes sense! You really have to drag down those Eminence commanders to keep them from being oppressive. Such a broken mechanic!
      Look how fast they banned/altered rules for companions. And Eminence is in some ways stronger.
      If you couldn't tell, I think Eminence and cards like Yuriko are fundamentally at odds with the format. They break the rules at the most core level.

      @mtgspecs  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely right, love a suboptimal build as it is (not sure anyone has forgiven me for my suboptimal build for Nadu..... Cursed video ha). I've put my time in with high power and I still have three I'd call HP on retainer for when everyone is bringing the spice. Recently a returning guest on Erinus TV's twitch and that comes with building to a budget which mean ejecting the overpriced staples for creative solutions. And Yuriko, well, I had that deck for a second but soon tired of how it made others feel and now it's Marvo 8 mana value with top deck shenanigans and it's way better received.
