The last few days for me have been insanely busy, but I put every second of free time and all of my heart into this video. I'm saddened by what I found this weekend. I think gates will go up shortly. It will keep out the good people who want to use this land for its intended purpose and shield the folks who continue to wreck it.
It's getting down to the wire and my lunch break is over. This video will post before I get off work, so I will have to apologize for the short description.
I'll see you again next week, I'll remember to give Toby a big hug for you.

Hi Kenny. You sure know how to make a camping video. Spooky in the dark. No use in putting him thru any trauma. You are awesome for picking up the trash. That’s something my hubby and I would do. I live that you weeded it. Can’t handle tall grass around my feet. I love it ~ but would rather be with another person. I’m gonna sit and watch. I so enjoy.
I’ve learned to always trust my dog’s instincts.
Sasquatch. The dog probably senses it. When I was camping last year, my campsite got really quiet. The animals stop making noises. No birds chirping. The leaves on the trees stop rustling. The wind stop blowing. It was dead quiet. All I can hear were branches and twigs snapping all around me. I get the chills just talking about it.
Not sure of your area but in mine if the situation is like that it’s probably humans, a cougar, bear or possibly a Sasquatch.

Seems so many years ago when I last was in the woods. My son is all grown up and my buddy dog has passed along with a few others after him that shared my life. I'm disabled now, unable to even get out in the yard due to no easy handicap accessibility. So please know your videos mean so much to me. I'm only in my 60's so I could of still had a lot of camping to do. Thank you for sharing yours.💞🏕
My mother is in her late 60s and absolutely loves camping, she, unfortunately cannot go on her own anymore, so I pick her up and take her camping with me , she really enjoys it , especially when her young grandkids set her camp up for her

I live in a small urban town. Our green spaces are being overtaken by homeless tent villages. I used to be able to keep in shape walking our river trails from one side of town to the other- now it’s just not safe. Your videos are my sanctuary to nature. Keep up the great work, and always follow Toby’s instincts!!😊❤️🇨🇦

@@keithtomey5046nobody dislikes them, because they are homeless we all can sympathize with this. It's how they carry themselves and the fact that drugs is what put them there so they are generally dangerous and unpredictable. If homeless people had a reputation for being total angels we wouldn't care where they camped, but the majority are known for their aggressive nature.

Yes, that was an empty tent. There's was mounds on garbage to the left. The pile of rubbish falling down the hill. I think the person heard me coming and took off into the woods line. That is why i didn't stick around and poke through camp. I had a feeling of being watched. I don't think the person was far away.

Watching Toby when you ask him if he was ready to go camping, it’s just like my two dogs. If we ask them if they’re ready to go camping, they run as fast as they can to the camper and we are off on another adventure. Enjoy that sweet boy.

I like the fact that you had a weed eater with you to shorten the grass around your site. Making it a more comfortable length. Cleaning up the trash at your site ahead of time made it less of an eye sore. 👍

When you told Toby let's get out of here, Toby wasted no time getting out of the woods. I did notice he would run a little, but would stop to see if you were coming. I think the last time Toby was there and was spooked he smelled those nasty squatters and sensed danger for you both. So adorable the bond you two have together. What a shame that people choose to leave their trash everywhere, and what a great person you are to clean up trash. One last thing - Your cooking skills amaze me. Kenny, I just want to point out to everyone living in Minnesota...you don't realize how blessed you are to have dispersed camping areas in your state. I live in North Carolina...there is no such thing here. We have state parks and one of the most visited national parks in the US...and you pay for the privilege of utilizing those parks. Those costs keep me home more than I would like. Leave no trace...or you may find the privilege has been taken away ❤
You are 💯 correct. One of the most beautiful spots in our area closed to the public about 2 months ago. These were old mine pits with excellent fishing. They are over 200 feet deep, crystal clear being fed by springs. It was around 1000 acres. I showed that one campsite in this video. There were 18 remote campsites in total. All gone because of this type of behavior.

Thanks! I have been watching what I eat since March. I'm not on a diet, I'm just not eating a king-size snicker bar every day. The heat this summer has helped. I don't eat much when I get overheated. I think the traffic going into BIR this year has been more than usual.
Hi Kenny I discovered your Channel about 4 weeks ago and I really enjoy it. I'm originally from Minnesota and still have relatives in southern Minnesota. I currently live in Tennessee. I really enjoy watching your videos it helps me relax after a long day at work and brings back a lot of great memories of my dad and I camping when I was a kid. We used to go up to the Boundary Waters every summer for a week and fish. Those are some of the best memories of my childhood. Thank you for sharing your camping weekends.

I left you a comment that I wanted to get a Truck Camper and I finally found one it’s lance 2001. It has been redone on the inside as far as painting, new cushions, new mattress and it is in very very good condition. Never has it ever leaked and of course he has the metal roof. I’ve only had it for a month and I’ve already went camping three times, and I’m the happiest man on earth right now. This is awesome! I'm glad you are using the camper. I found the more I use mine the more it feels like home. Going camping is not a chore anymore, it's just second nature. It's really nice to get off work and jump in the camper for a few days. It definitely beats sitting on the couch all weekend.

Thank you for showing the reality, even though it wasn’t nice. I’m sure that was a hard decision in some ways, but it’s honest. I noticed when you went to the first place that on the way in, Toby kept checking to make sure you were right behind him. When you said it was time to go, he bounded ahead with a happy tail. I’m sure he was thinking, “Thank goodness we’re getting outta here!” He sure didn’t like the vibe either.

No, Toby has his own bed as he explains in another video the queen up top isn't big enough for both of them. I think a queen is plenty big enough so he's probably like me where I love my animals very much, but they are not allowed in my bed or sleep with me. It's not really good to let animals sleep in your bed as they will try to show dominance by sleeping at the very top of the bed. So, if you do let your animals sleep in your bed make sure they sleep at the bottom of the bed so they know who's boss.
Sad to see that some people lack respect for places, or others. Good to see you out there. Toby is a smart dog and I see he can smell trouble.
The trash is truely disgusting! That is my biggest pet peeve! I know when I’ve done trash pickup you have to be very careful where creeps have been partying and just living very often there are used needles laying about so you and Toby be careful you don’t get stuck! Toby is doing so great! He really is the perfect dog for you and camping!
I got jabbed by a hypodermic needle when I was a kid. It was laying in the street and I picked it up and it poked my finger. This was back in like 1980 and you didn't really have all the fears we do today. I was tested for Hepatitis and that's it, but since then I've been tested for everything and I'm pretty clean.

People bash the homeless, but we need to remember at times that so many suffer from mental illness, they have and kicked out of probably every friend or family's home that has tried to help them, and sometimes off their meds, who knows what other challenges they have endured.

We don't know what happened to them. They may have passed away or something. They could have went into town to get another hit of drugs and never made it back to camp. They could have had a medical emergency. They may have seen the light, got sober and moved on ( in which case they should clean up their mess). They could have went to the local store and hit it big on a scratch off and never went back. OR, they're just pigs that don't care about polluting the area and the reason they moved on is because their trash became to much so they went somewhere else and trashed that place up, too.

The one site with the tent is it looks like they may have had a run-in with a bear and just vamoosed. The other is an all-to-common problem on our state and National Forests. When I was a ranger (1989-2015) I can't tell you how many times we had to clean up all manner of things; TVs were common, desktop computers, mattresses and box springs, even a 6-cyclinder engine block and 11 cannister vacuums lined up neatly in a row. It got worse during and after the pandemic. Like you, I still clean up my site before and after. Like you, I haven't given up camping. Press on!
I agree. That person took off quickly. In fact, I think he heard my truck and took off. I had a feeling like I was being watched. I was a law enforcement officer for years and a correctional officer before that. Over that time, I've learned to tune into those senses. That is why I didn't go poke around in the site. There was a good chance I would have known the person. I was an officer in the town over.
It's definitely sad how people can trash a beautiful area like that and leave it. Kudos to you Kenny for always doing what you can, leaving places better than you find them and raising awareness to things like this.
Also, I'm pretty sure I'll be testing out my new Wal*Mart dutch oven this weekend over my fire pit in my backyard. To add to that, you gave me a great idea with that beef stew..

That just enrages me to see beautiful campsites just totally trashed, I have personally gone in and cleaned a couple of sites up on my own, by the time I was done I was fuming, but, humanity is is like that in some instances, unfortunately, thank you for cleaning up your sites and picking up others trash in some cases. Hi Kenny, it is so heartbreaking to see how a few Homo Sapien animals can trash their, yours, our environment. One of my least favorite calls was for trash dumping in the County. We didn't take it lightly. Going through people's bags of trash was not fun BUT you would be shocked how many times it resulted in a piece of mail or magazine with their name on it. It would result in either a very expensive ticket, them be charged for the County Road Crew to clean it up or them having 48 hrs to clean it to our satisfaction.
That really was a sketchy trail you and Toby were on. I was wondering do you carry on your strolls? The way the Country is going right now it would be appropriate. I'm in a total state of shock how things are..............I need to go fishing!!!

Thank you for the donation! I agree with you on the dumping calls. It's amazing how many times I would find a food delivery receipt with an address attached. It led me right to these people's doors. If it was the first time I'd cut them some slack. I'd give them the opturnity to go clean it all up and make it shine! But there were no second chances for repeat offenders. A lot of times, it was younger people who were moving out of their apartments. They didn't want to pay the fees at the landfills.

Sometimes it is probably best to leave trashed sights in a video. Maybe if people see what they left behind & what we think of their rudeness, they will take the hint & do better
