It wasnt until 10:15 (local time) on a Sunday night that i realized i need a 1992 Geo Tracker camper….That is a fantastic build im gonna share in some of my facebook camping groups
I put one of those ICECO 20 freezer fridges in my wifes 06 4Runner 2 years ago, and it has been great for her grocery shopping in town. I installed a Bluetti 300 to power it and wired in her charging system to charge the Bluetti when her engine is running. I also bought one for my Granddaughter for a graduation present, and she uses it all the time in her car for camping in Colorado where she lives. That little Geo tracker camper is great for a short weekend getaway. Or a homless shelter. Love the thinking outside the box.
I have a 02 Tacoma 2 door with a custom aluminum shell, windows (& screens) both sides & double rear opening doors in the back. I never even tricked it out with aux power or appliances, just wood bed frame for thick comfy foam mattress & storage underneath. It's short so gets into small trail campsites, lived out of it for 18 months on a massive trip. Soo much better than tent camping... it's actually kinda like your build in a lot of ways

Idk why I'm drawn to things like this, I just am. Maybe its a desire deep inside to downsize and just get away and enjoy life more. The whole "the things you own end up owning you" is true. So much stress n worry over the ultimately unimportant, is stopping us all from enjoying life with what we already have.
That is a great build, thanks for the video. My wife has a 1999 Chevy Tracker and it just turned 36,000 miles. It in great shape and I would love to do what you did.
New life goals! I rebuild and remodel campers, right now I'm working on a van conversion and rebuilding my 13ft from hitch to bumper 73 safari pull camper. The camper is a log cabin look and think the van is going to be a boho look lol. I really enjoy doing these kinda things. I love your little geo hut! Excited to see how it turns out....

Okay Larry, now this is awesome!!! First it's adorable & compact and I like that, but thought there was no way you'd fit in there. Then once you showed it open I was really impressed!! Clearly the dogs already love it! Great tiny build and certainly looks to have enough room for you and the pups! I'd say get you a good thick piece of heavy duty foam as the base of your bed and you'll be good to go! GREAT JOB!!😀

I LOVE THIS! I used to have a 96 Tracker, yellow with black soft top, 5 speed, 4wd and I took it everywhere! I hung onto it forever because I wanted to turn it into an off road vehicle. They're good vehicles, very underestimated. I hope to get another one and do that someday

Thats pretty cool. I guess you have weather stripping at the front of the camper to seal to the Tracker. To keep weight down, maybe you could cover the outside with foam panel insulation and put a layer of fiberglass cloth on top. Keep the interior rustic and get weatherproofing at the same time.
That rig is so cool. I have a Buddy who also has a blue '92 Geo Tracker in Tucson. I will try to forward this clip to him. A future version, might be able to slide-out in back, making it a longer unit. Or UP like an Alaskan.

Just a thought! I can't wait to start seeing where you go in this. Super cool you can still tow it because it's not that much more extra weight. And can go off a do little trips from wherever you already are. Game changer if you do go out on trails and have to spend the night.

I used to have a Suzuki sidekick. It was my all time favorite car. Just loved it (never should have sold it!, Duh!) Always used mine as a work truck...but that camper version is just fantastic! Great job!

Plus in the winter I used Mr buddy Heater work nice in the Geo tracker I used a fire material and built a small box by the rear corner and open door window around half in and let them open .Reason I build my Geo tracker with heater is because I trim grapes fields in upstate NY and I stay overnight from Nov through early April.And kp rolling up and down hills to the south kp making money.Geo tracker are the best in any environment plus cheap to maintenance and gd on gas I think you have a beautiful thing going there plus you can make it to a nice little business
I had a 95 and a 96 geo tracker. My favorite vehicle! I loved those little 4x4s so much but the Northeast salt took them.😢 my red one was a 95. So much fun!
I’ve never seen a camper on a Tracker… I loved these little things back in the day. I wanted one really bad but after test driving a new one it had zero power and I changed my mind. I still love the looks of them though. Maybe one day they’ll come back. This thing is amazing, I love it!

Less is more, this camper van really got me, simple, small, agile, but has enough function for camping, that is enough for me 😂
