Jesus Hernandez Mexico are never *not* a challenge. Every single win we have ever gotten over them we had to earn. But you are right that just playing them over and over again won't take us to the next level.
To be fair, the USMNT did actually play Ecuador late last year and didn't really play that well to be honest. Ecuador isn't at the level of Argentina or Brazil but considering that they've made 3 out of the last 4 World Cups including the knockout stages in 2006 I wouldn't put them at the level of Bolivia. I definitely think that it's useful playing a team like Ecuador.
3 years ago nobody would believe that the US would win at Azteca, Amsterdam, and Germany. Keep up the good work guys don't listen to the haters. Congrats from Mexico!
KEEP CALM and PLAY SOCCER IN YOUR PAJAMAS Because ticket prices are much higher in the US. And their target market are immigrants from Mexico who would pay those prices just to get a chance to see their team play. It's all about making money, sadly. It pisses a lot of people in Mexico, including me to see those people being ripped off by having Mexico play against shitty teams as long as those in charge keep getting richer.
Fernando Albo Interesting! I wondered about that but I didn't know. I read that more of the Mexican fans at the WC came from the U.S. then Mexico, so they must have a good amount of disposable income. I think El Tri can sell out any stadium in the U.S. I guess you'll have to watch that playoff for a Confed Cup spot on TV, but people are predicting that the crowd will be 75-85% Mexican fans.
KEEP CALM and PLAY SOCCER IN YOUR PAJAMAS Yeah people in Mexico go crazy when it comes to soccer, they'd sell their cars for a chance to go to the WC. That's why they keep having those unnecessary games in US soil. Yeah I heard that game is happening in California but I think it'll be like 65-35% Mexico to USA fans. Now that's a game worth paying to watch. Hope it's not a dos a cero haha good luck.
I think these past two games have given us a glimpse at our potentially new A squad. The style of play of this team seems so different then even our previous world cup squad. These guys look pretty solid to me. Even our defense, although still needing some work, seems a lot better. Im pretty confident that brooks is going to be our man in the back. I don't think this will be the gold cup squad.
We lacked confidence going into that game and had developed a defeatist attitude. Despite that, we went in over-confident. So, offensively, we created very little. We had no “teeth” to our attack. We scored when we finally turned up the heat on them. Defensively, T&T’s first goal was caused by a sloppy mistake on the part of our defender. We defended too loosely against the guy who scored their second goal. BUT, all of that aside, T&T’s second goal was absolutely out of this world! It would have gone in against many teams. They say T&T were also out for revenge for having been knocked them out of a WC in Trinidad years earlier. It could have been, but, I don’t give too much weight to that. I give more weight to the fact that they were playing at home and that they were loose because it was the last game of that campaign and they had nothing to lose or gain.
I made the same mistake at first but it's actually Hermann the RM who lost his mark. The RB Rudy tucked in to mark Johansson. The trouble all started earlier on when the LCB Rüdiger stepped out too far to mark Agudelo who had come short. It forced the whole back line to shift and Hermann didn't recognize it.
Alexis Perez Alvarado looked like the lost one to me. No clue what he was doing. Standing in no mans land between Brooks and Gotze. Didn't notice Chandler on the play...which now that I think about it, isn't a good thing either.
Ron Burgundy Chandler consistently plays in a top league, Yedlin didn't. Chandler played much better after the first 30 mins. Give the guy a break plus it was Germany....
JuliusC. Yedlin came into Tottenham in preseason mode. Brad Friedel who was commentating on this game said so and Yedlins real “first season" should start next year at Tottenham
First FIFA, then Netherlands and now Germany Good pass sequence that led to the goals, maintaining possession, confidence soaring ahead of Gold Cup, remarkable come backs after being behind in both games..... I think we're onto something.....
Jese Rizo Beat them in what? Friendlies? That really doesn't mean anything. Friendly games are also known to be experimental games. That's why official games are always more competitive.
Jese Rizo I mean, yeah it's great that they beat Germany recently, but they couldn't even touch them at the World Cup. That's what I'm saying. Same with Mexico, they lost to Holland at the WC but beat them in a friendly a few months later.
I went absolutely nuts when bobby wood aka Hawaiian messi scored the winning goal. Felt so bad for the neighbors. Can't wait to see them play Guatemala in Nashville.
Germany likely thought "Oh this will be a relaxing game in our home country, we're the world champions and they are the US" After the first Germany goal "There, now we can relax" After the first US "Damn, we gotta score another one so we can relax again" After the second goal from the US "Oh shit, we better try and score we're about to get embarrassed" Final whistle "Fuck..."
@@frijoleroeltaquero932 I meant they obviously played really relaxed you fucking idiot, they underestimated the US. And generally teams do care about friendlies.
it seems like just a few months ago Altidore was our only decent striker lol Now we've got like a three way tie for #2 with Zardes, Morris and Wood all showing potential. Hope we stay with these young lineups(besides Orozco or Alvarado.. God They're awful) and run circles around these Gold Cup Scrubs
Alvarado is a real great player honestly, he is just getting used to playing on the international level right now...he did play horrible against holland and he did mess up giving that free goal to Goetze, but look at him play with club América...he just needs time. As for Orozco he has played a while now in the U.S. National team and has not really delivered
Adam Brown Novakovich, Tall, Morris, Wood, and Rubin are all promising. I like Zardes but I'm not sure he has what it takes to be a striker going forward. Which isn't to say he isn't a good player. He's flashed good potential. I'd like to see him out on the wings or in a two striker formation as much as possible.
Sok- leks never even mentioned dempsey. He and Bradley will be controlling the midfield. And hopefully Altidore can be back in time for Guatemala to get back into playing form but if not I could get two fucks about him as well
To everyone who says Germany had their shit players in the game: Schurrle, gotze, gundogan, khedira and ozil are great players.....USA didnt even have their full team either, so show respect to the boys in blue

3 years ago nobody would believe that the US would win at Azteca, Amsterdam, and Germany. Keep up the good work guys don't listen to the haters. Congrats from Mexico!
Fernando Albo Nice comment, CONCACAF as a region is getting much better, and it benefits us all
Fernando Albo Why is Mexico playing about 80% of their friendlies on U.S. soil?
What happened? 2 years later and we're out of the World Cup...
Watching this and the Netherlands friendly was such a nice treat that summer.
Looking forward to USA and Mexico bringing their best to the CONCACAF Gold cup, no excuses this time😉
Omg thank you
+darknessmadefresh bobby wood is not latino btw
#Haywain
I'm lovin it!
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!!
Bobby Wood comin in clutch
Haters will say "this is friendly match" Lol ! GO USA !
bandwagon
That side foot shot by Morris! kid is fast as hell and has great skill level.
so what if this was the germans bench, where was howard, bedoya, cameron, gonzalez, besler, altidore, dempsey, and jones
It honestly wasn't just the bench, they had gotze, ozil etc.. They had about 5-6 world cup starters out playing
How do we beat the defending world champions but not Trinidad?
spence I was gonna say that
We lacked confidence going into that game and had developed a defeatist attitude.
Wow what a shock
On the Germany goal the right back got lost
Yeah, they can't afford to make mistakes like that.
First FIFA, then Netherlands and now Germany
Good pass sequence that led to the goals, maintaining possession, confidence soaring ahead of Gold Cup, remarkable come backs after being behind in both games..... I think we're onto something.....
Doesn't this makes us the best socer team in the world now?
Deborah Szumski em .. no
Deborah Szumski I know you're only joking, but the USA have to wait 3 more years if they want to claim to be the best.
Jese Rizo We've already done that.
Germany likely thought "Oh this will be a relaxing game in our home country, we're the world champions and they are the US"
After the first Germany goal "There, now we can relax"
After the first US "Damn, we gotta score another one so we can relax again"
After the second goal from the US "Oh shit, we better try and score we're about to get embarrassed"
Final whistle "Fuck..."
Germany won 4 world cups and usa won 0 world cups.
Its a fucking friendly you dumb ass they don't give a shit if they lose. Say something when the US beats them in an actual match
@@frijoleroeltaquero932 in a world cup match Germany 4-0 USA
@@frijoleroeltaquero932 I meant they obviously played really relaxed you fucking idiot, they underestimated the US. And generally teams do care about friendlies.
2015....when we beat germany and the netherlands. i know the games didnt mean much but still. jurgen could get wins against quality countries.
it seems like just a few months ago Altidore was our only decent striker lol Now we've got like a three way tie for #2 with Zardes, Morris and Wood all showing potential.
Agudelo!
Sok- leks never even mentioned dempsey. He and Bradley will be controlling the midfield. And hopefully Altidore can be back in time for Guatemala to get back into playing form but if not I could get two fucks about him as well
Dempsey???
Love this commentator
TH-cam is like:
2015: no
2016: no
2017: no
2018: no yet
2019: now we show what the US could have been
What happened to Bobby wood he would’ve been so good for this current team
He went to Hamburg just for the money. That's what happened.
To everyone who says Germany had their shit players in the game: Schurrle, gotze, gundogan, khedira and ozil are great players.....USA didnt even have their full team either, so show respect to the boys in blue
Nobody is saying that it’s only a friendly but congrats
Just got done watching Mexico lose to German B/C team 4-1 in the Confed cup. Came to watch this :P
USA for the Copa America
Ernie Zuniga Rip 4th place. Still played very well tho
BOBBY WOOD FIRES AND SCORES!

Trinidad lmao
good Lord the atmosphere
OK, we beat Germany, now it's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work, especially in defense.
In retrospect we should never have gotten rid of Klinsman. We wouldn’t have missed the World Cup.
USA BEAT NETHERLANDS 4-3
USA BEAT GERMANY 2-1
In Friendlies
@@m.c.martin exactly
Best team I ever saw change my mind
The one the US has now is way better than this one
@@m.c.martin not saying this new one is bad but this team had basically knocked out Portugal and Ghana in the group stages beat Spain tied England, they just had the ability to frequently conquer big teams.
@@m.c.martin it’s my opinion so if you don’t think that this is true that’s fine.
US beat Netherlands
US beat Germany
Brazil beat US.
Does that mean Brazil are back?
A Big NO!!!
Nah
i have a lot of faith in our team. we're going to be able to compete against a lot of world class countries in a few years if we can play the way we played this game.
Why can't USA play like that now??
Its a friendly German won the world cup a friendly loss isnt gonna hurt them
Good Game, greetings from a German dude
