I still find the video a great watch. I can only look back at my own projects that I've either stopped working on due to some hitch or just getting burned out. Looking at this video really makes me look at my project bin and one of my bigger projects just sitting their unfinished due to math issues (I work on software engineering but this was a hardware/software project involving accelerometers). I was able to use some of it for other projects, but the original has never been finished.
I don't focus on mods, but this video is still pretty inspiring on maybe returning to an older project and finishing it, even if there isn't much of a point to it.
Great to see this finished! Remember the worklog from back in the day. I was (and am) a big fan of the Wiicube Fusion, so I was exited to see the new build, and they were a great inspiration for my own builds. Too familiar with the problems that just pile up when finishing a portable, annoying errors that you didn't account for and make the end result further and further from the project envisioned at the start. Kudos that you stuck through and can now call this finished!

I typed in modded electronics and stumbled upon the original video series that went unfinished. I was crushed. I was really excited to see the finished project and then I found this video. And now I feel satisfied. I think you have downplayed your awesome creation. There are many people who couldn't have even attempted to create what you did. It's really freaking cool! I wish I had it to keep in a display case or even show off at get togethers. You created something awesome. Be proud of it! You definatley deserve more love on this channel! Subbed!

F-Zero GX' save data is not copyable or movable. I think this data management could interfere with any modifications applied to the memory card system

Rome wasn't built in a day, the final design for the original gamecube wasn't created in one day, this is an amazing attempt, but nothing goes perfectly the first few times, you've clearly learned from it and this is much better than me or anyone I know could make
This is pretty interesting, and I'm glad you were finally able to talk about why Gamecube portables are outdated.
I hope that one day someone makes a step by step tutorial on building a Wii portable, much like there were for N64 some years ago. I still really want to make one but there's just so much that can go wrong, that I don't wanna risk it

A portable is is truly the final form of a GameCube Wii and Wii U, I mean those low-power chips and low-resolution screens are really meant for portable devices.
Heck you can emulate GameCube on devices that cost as much as the GameCube did at launch for a portable device, and for $100 if you don't need it to be portable.
Depending on the pre-built you could get it for like 60 to $80, and you pretty much have to live in this big city, so you don't have to pay shipping.
FUCK that, I loved that you showed this off. If it can game, I'm ok with it personally and this this is awesome.

I dont know of anyone has answered the memory card issue. But you can not mix JAP, NTSC or PAL Iso's since you can only save games in the same region. If you mix save files the saves will be corupted.

I really would like to make a portable nintendo 64, I'm still new to modding, The only thing that i modded is 2 Gameboy Advance's, which is just installing the backlight, glass panel, and installing the rechargeable battery so really the only thing i had to do in it was trimming and using the solder iron .

So this is anecdotal so I don't know why it happens or if it's consistent, but I've also had a game corrupt every memory card on my original Game Cube.
When I was young, I pulled out a memory card while saving in Super Mario Sunshine. This ended up wiping the entire card. Now, the weird part is that years later, I fished out the old Game Cube and tried to play the same Sunshine disk again with a different memory card. It ended up fully wiping the new card as well.
So it's possible that the game itself is corrupted and can somehow destroy memory cards, caused by it unplugging while the card is in use. If anything, it probably tells you this isn't a fault of your project, but likely a fault of the Game Cube or the way it handles games.
I feel like you couldve avoid the nasti hot glue >. > and optimized the case a bit better. The wiring may look like a mess, but I'm sure you could've done better ;3 All in all tho, you did good :D
