This wouldn't be a bad design, but for the plastic clips for the rods. Their method for latching closed on the rods is not robust enough. The after market clips are sure not. I am re- engineering, and fabricating mine out of aluminum. I believe and hope they will work well, and I don't have to mess with this, ever again. Third time is the charm.
Thank you for posting this video. If you have the time and get this comment…. Does cutting that portion of the “tailgate” affect the use of the lock? Can someone just lift the handle to see or get to the rods where a needle nose can activate their release? Thank you.
Bro HOW TF DO YOU OPEN IT WITH BROKEN CLIPS?! IVE BEEN WATCHING PEOPLE MANAGE TO GET THIS SHIT OPEN WITH NO EXPLANATION. THE BOLTS ARE TOO TIGHT TO REMOVE THE COVER, THE BED COVERS ARE STUCK ON BECSUSR I CANT OPEN THE BED. How has this not been addressed by anyone???
@@wrencheswithtom To each, there own, but I don’t know why anyone’s background music would affect the quality of and video here. If the voice is clear and understandable, than it’s just fine. Great idea cutting off that piece. Saved so much time
Nicely demonstrated and explained. Thanks!
Very strait forward with no nonsense - thank you

How does the trim come off
You take the two outer bolts out on the inside of the tailgate and pop the two plastic fasteners loose behind the trim, like I said in the video.
But what do you do if the cover is on the bed ?
I'm not sure what cover you're referring to.
Use a flat blade screwdriver to push down on the rods
Thx bro
You’re so cute 🥰 thanks for your video

Content is good, why have music that is redundant is beyond annoying
Thank you for the feedback, I'm new to making videos.
