Bro HOW TF DO YOU OPEN IT WITH BROKEN CLIPS?! IVE BEEN WATCHING PEOPLE MANAGE TO GET THIS SHIT OPEN WITH NO EXPLANATION. THE BOLTS ARE TOO TIGHT TO REMOVE THE COVER, THE BED COVERS ARE STUCK ON BECSUSR I CANT OPEN THE BED. How has this not been addressed by anyone???
Time wise how long do you think it took to replace?
It has been a very long time since I did this, but I'd estimate about an hour and a half.
Which way to loosing the alternator nut
Great idea cutting off that piece. Saved so much time
Very strait forward with no nonsense - thank you
If you want the real answer to solving this tailgate problem then watch this! These videos don’t explain anything and it’ll fail again th-cam.com/video/438sLWDJo7Av/w-d-xo.html
You’re so cute 🥰 thanks for your video
Thank you for posting this video. If you have the time and get this comment…. Does cutting that portion of the “tailgate” affect the use of the lock? Can someone just lift the handle to see or get to the rods where a needle nose can activate their release? Thank you.
That first comment about the heavy drinker then immediately transitioning into the "J/K remove the negative cable from the battery" wuz freakin classic 😂😂
Nicely demonstrated and explained. Thanks!
TURN OFF MUSIC
Thx bro
Nissan can suck my 🥜 for making this job overly difficult 😒
So i have everything apart up until that lower rear alternator bolt. Its seized on there wont budge tried extensions, swivle heads, breacker bars/ longer leverages ... soaked it in PB blaster. Knocked on it. It just WILL NOT pop off there any ideas?
I’m guessing you got it off by now but did you try using a blowtorch
But what do you do if the cover is on the bed ?
I'm not sure what cover you're referring to.
Use a flat blade screwdriver to push down on the rods
Is the alternator same place on. 2009 maxima?
Sorry, I hadn't had a chance to log on and answer comments. I don't believe that the 2009 Maxima is the same, but I could be wrong.
How did you start the video w that 😂😂
I just thought it was funny because a lot of the videos that I watch start out with telling you a lot of things that you don't need to know, haha.
Content is good, why have music that is redundant is beyond annoying
Thank you for the feedback, I'm new to making videos.
@@wrencheswithtom To each, there own, but I don’t know why anyone’s background music would affect the quality of and video here. If the voice is clear and understandable, than it’s just fine. The contents you selflessly provided truly helps us DIY’rs is the most important facet of these videos. Thank you so much for a very easy-to-follow video.
This wouldn't be a bad design, but for the plastic clips for the rods. Their method for latching closed on the rods is not robust enough. The after market clips are sure not. I am re- engineering, and fabricating mine out of aluminum. I believe and hope they will work well, and I don't have to mess with this, ever again. Third time is the charm.
Great video . Exactly what I needed ... thank you for making it
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it.
Soooooo... when are you going to be here to replace my alternator ?!? 🤔🤞🤷♀️
That can be arranged. 🤷🏼♂️😂😂
@@wrencheswithtom I’m waiting on you . Don’t worry, I already took the fan out for you 😎
How does the trim come off
You take the two outer bolts out on the inside of the tailgate and pop the two plastic fasteners loose behind the trim, like I said in the video.
It's easier to loosen the 'tensioner pulley nut' before loosening the 'tensioner'. This will prevent shearing the threads on the 'tensioner shaft'. I learned the hard way. $75 to replace that part. Sure saves time and trouble not having to remove the radiator, yes it will come out with not much effort. Also found it is easier to slide the long bolt in with a bolt holding the alternator in place. On the opposite side of the long bolt, just slip in a smaller bolt, slide in the long bolt as you push out the holding bolt. I actually used an allen wrench for this task. jrv
You're right. I'm aware the tensioner pulley nut is also the lock for the tensioner bolt, but I'm very new to making videos and I think I mixed the clips up when I made the video. Thank you for the feedback!
Great video. Really helps that you even say what size sockets / wrench someone would need to complete the job. Well done. Thanks.
jose alcendra you’re welcome, thank you for the feedback!
I think you meant "remove battery cable from alternator", not starter!!hehe good video otherwise..
Adam McDowell yeah, you’re probably right. I’m still a newb when it comes to making videos. Thanks for the feedback! 🤙🏻
@@wrencheswithtom I wasn't trying to be critical, I know these videos have to be tough to make and you got my respect for doing it!
Was just thinking that. Love the video.
