Thank you, random Canadian guy. Blower vibrated itself outta the housing and I had to seat it back in--how it stayed semi-housed for as long as it did is beyond me. Cheers, bud.
Awesome! Thanks for this vid! I had no idea it was a twist-in/out and I was contemplating the task of taking out all of those small screws that hold in the surrounding housing.
Thanks! The mechanic wanted about $200. After watching this, I went to the junkyard and bought a used one for $20 and installed it myself. Knowing that blower twisted out instead of screwed in was key. Also note worthy: Mine had a small tab you had to bend down before it twisted out.
Great vid. Replaced my squeeky fan in 15 mins. Still feeling some odd cold drafts when the inlaws are sitting in the back, but i think thats a seperate issue.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Derek Henry i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
This helped me a lot! Mines made a lot of noises. Opened it up and found all type of seeds and dog foods. I guess the field mice were hiding things to block the fan from moving freely lol
Some aftermarket do have the tab. Just purchased one from Autozone and both brands they carry have the tab. Also, O'Reilly's has one that has the tab. Works great and fits well.
I just bought a Chevy Avalanche and thought I needed to replace the blower motor because it has stopped working. I look over and see that it's actually hanging out and vibrating. I was like this thing broke because it's not mounted correctly. Just be us and around with it I realize how it goes in and then I found this video confirming what I thought
Question, is the fuse box under the hood in the same location on an 05 Suburban? I'm not with the truck right this second but am looking for hints where to look for the rear climate control fuse is.
You make this look so damn easy I am halfway tempted to do this on my own. Do I dare try? I'm going outside to check to see if a) I can find that box; b) if it's twist. If it is, I am about to show my dad, the engineer, how awesome girls are!
Great video. . Anyone know the part number for a AC DELCO blower unit , that controls the A/C on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche with climate control. Please advice , thanks
I also have a 2005 avy did you end up replacing your blower motor? if so could you send me the part number if you still remember or have it? Mine needs to be replaced and I’ve been a little confused when looking for a replacement
So I replaced the blower with only a few f-bombs dropped. But speed 5 still does not work. Any ideas what else could be causing just the highest speed not to work? A blower resistor?
TheYoshiClan Hey you got a video on pulling the resistor? Is it on the printed circuit board with the multi-colored cable then connector feeding into it? The one in a housing sort of in front of the blower? Thanks again.
TheYoshiClan did you order that part online? I went to my local chevy dealer and it was the blower with the pigtail. Im having trouble finding this part
Great video man, very helpful !! I seem to have lost the 1st, 2nd and 5th speed on my blower motor, only 3rd and 4th are functioning. Do you think that is a problem with the speed controller or the blower motor itself ?
I know you probably fixed it I hope it is called a blower resistor if you have automatic ac control it's about a hundred bucks real easy to do in same area
If it's just making some racket but still working, you can spray some love into the small hole in the black plastic. Should take care of your issue. I used lithium grease into it with the tube that every can of lube has, and it took care of my issue. No need to replace it.
Just did this, and it’s not staying in place. Took my old one in to make sure I got the correct one. Looks to me like it just burned the housing case, plus it fell out crooked. No amount of toggling it, turning it keeps it in place but they tell me it’s the only part that fits….
Try changing a blower motor on a Cadillac Eldorado, it is located in the engine bay, bolted to the fire wall. It was one of the worst jobs I ever worked on. Tip, buy a brand new one or you may end up doing it again like I did, because I wanted to save a few bucks. Won't do that again.

Thanks for this video! Turns out I didn't need to replace the blower, just clean it very thoroughly. Saved me a trip to my mechanic!
Awesome! Thanks for this vid!

Thank you!! I've been having a hell of a time figuring out why i couldn't turn it.
Great vid. Replaced my squeeky fan in 15 mins. Still feeling some odd cold drafts when the inlaws are sitting in the back, but i think thats a seperate issue.
Great comment haha.
Thanks for the vid! My blower squeaks cause it was always on HIGH when I had a control issue. Does it need replacing or greased? (Anyone??)

Thank you for your in depth video..fixed the AC myself, I’m sure you helped me save a few bills

@Duke Arthur no problem :)
Great tip on not getting aftermarket junk.👍
This helped me a lot! Mines made a lot of noises. Opened it up and found all type of seeds and dog foods. I guess the field mice were hiding things to block the fan from moving freely lol
Thanks brotha!! Saved me $120
you don't have to really pull the fuse. I did this at 1am after watching video, thank you.
Pretty sure he did that just to show the location. You are correct, though!
Thanks for a really simple video man.
Some aftermarket do have the tab. Just purchased one from Autozone and both brands they carry have the tab. Also, O'Reilly's has one that has the tab. Works great and fits well.
Just did this repair; exactly as the video! Thanks!

Personal experience, 2009 Tahoe, with tab, twist out (clockwise) Amazon $42.fits fine, twist new one in (counterclockwise) Happy Days! Ben
Damnit boy. Thank you for this video. I was so dreading this repair on my Chevy avalanche.

adgra did you end up changing it?
I enjoy this video most our of the ones I've seen however, this is the only video in which you disconnected the fuse. How necessary is that?
Good vid buddy, Im rewiring my resistor and was wondering how to remove the motor since I have to hook the pig tail into the blower motor.
Great video. . Anyone know the part number for a AC DELCO blower unit , that controls the A/C on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche with climate control. Please advice , thanks
Mine was sometimes working and randomly would stop. The fuse for the HVAC blower wasn’t pushed in all of the way.
Any explanation on the small metal clips on the fan?
it is use to balance the fan
Thanks teacher 👍🤠
Can ask you a question about Chevy avalanche?
Will this be the same method on a 2002 GMC Yukon Denali?
Thanks for the information You saved me time and $$ Installed Advance auto part #7584 in my 2012 Avalanche works great
Awesome video!!! so easy! thanks so much
Thanks for the vid! My blower squeaks cause it was always on HIGH when I had a control issue. Does it need replacing or greased? (Anyone??)
Sealed internal bearings. Replace it and clean any debris out
Very helpful!
Other than great video thank you
I have a 2005 avy ... how do you know if it's your blower that's bad or resistor/relay ??
I also have a 2005 avy did you end up replacing your blower motor? if so could you send me the part number if you still remember or have it? Mine needs to be replaced and I’ve been a little confused when looking for a replacement
what size nut driver for removing the kick plate?
7 mm
Thanks, I just use this to change out the blower motor on my 04 Tahoe. funny thing, I only had to clean the fan because there was a dead mouse in it!
great video it works on a avalanche 07 1500 try it myself
So I replaced the blower with only a few f-bombs dropped. But speed 5 still does not work. Any ideas what else could be causing just the highest speed not to work? A blower resistor?
Yeah it would be the blower resister or a bad connection to the resister.
TheYoshiClan Thanks. I'll check it out.

Is there any chance it could be a Front Blower Motor Resistor? Would that cause the 30 to blow?
I change my blower motor in my chevy suv but the motor wont go into place. Anyone have suggesting
Great video, I think there is a rodent in my blower motor, I believe he entered into the ducts underneath the dash! Damn him and all!
i wish it was that easy on a chevy silverado 1990 or is it ??????
+rexter4 we wish it was that easy. Especially with driver side airbags.
Thanks for sharing!!!!
Nice work
It sure pays to buy AC Delco parts, they last longer and fit better than parts store brand parts.
Tks for the info
where is the cabin air filter for this model of avalanche????
No cabin filter
