Yeah. I got 2 tattoos recently and had amazingly beautiful art & also very good guides how to Take care of them. Tattoo artist told me that at least 2weeks no sun and after that good sunscreen. I just used light scarf around them first 2+ weeks whenever there was sunny and walked my dog. Was not too hot for me to wear but protected tattoo. I would not want to screw the artistry up.
Letting it dry out probably isn't a good idea. It increases risk of excess scarring and can make the ink become uneven. Aquaphor? A&D ointment? Tattoo goo?

Buy hand sanitiser, perfume free soap, and an ointment för baby's. Wash hands with sanitiser and soap. Wash tattoo few times during the day with soap and then put ointment on. Avoid taking long hot showers and be in the sun. And if you work with your hands where it might be dusty/dirty, always protect with new wrapping.

You’re supposed to keep in under the film wrap for the first five days and then treat it with disinfectant and healing ointment, tattoos are wounds and should be treated like ones. I have never had this happen to any of my tattoos
1. Day 1, the sleeve is on a white towel 2. Day 4 and day 5, the sleeve is on same towel 3. Day 1-day 3 is an aftermath of Day 5 4. Day 5 is when the ink just got dry and the client or artist is about peeling of the excess ink 5. Day 4 is when peeling off is 90% in progress

The reason it's not good to tatoo your body is the same reason it's not good to write on library books. You're supposed to keep it as close to the same condition you received it. Because when your soul is done with it, it's returned to the original owner.....God.
You should really keep it a lot softer. Use aquafor the first couple days make sure you keep a nice thin layer on. When I do it day three when I wash it off I could go a whole day without putting lotion on a new tattoo. The more moist you keep the skin the first theee days the better it’ll heal
