I'm surprised you didn't have anything for Bruce Campbell as the surgeon
The OG Solid Snake
L.A. Colosseum. Home to TWO Olympics, and the Raiders for awhile.
I’d take this 1-on-death basketball tourney over NASCAR at the Coliseum any day
The off-road racing there was the best 😊
I watched an HBO documentary about the making of this movie. Kurt shot the whole basketball scene in one take, including the full court shot.
Supposedly, Kurt Russell sank that full-court basketball shot in a single take. Legend.
He did the whole scene in one take, including the long shot
The surfer dude is Peter Fonda, son of legendary actor Henery Fonda, and brother to Jane Fonda, oh yeh Bridget Fondas Dad ( Melanie in Jakie Brown). And oh wow Jakie Brown herself, Pam Grier.
And the esthetic surgeon is Bruce Campbell
Did you call Snake Plissken, "Blissken" this whole time? Was it just for that one joke at 10:05? Ohmygod
I thought I was just hearing it wrong! Glad I'm not crazy
Yeah, I caught that too. Lol. Scrolled through a lot of comments before I saw anyone mention it and was beginning to think that I was the only one who heard it. Lol.
"His leather jacket needs rehydration". 😂
This movie is one of my all-time favorite not-so-guilty pleasures. It is unashamedly weird and just embraces the absurdity of its setting and lore with enthusiasm.
HAHAHA there is only one word to describe the humour... legendary. Several other TH-camrs has a similar concept, only a single one managed to have the DNA to take on the task... Mr RedEye.... I bow down for you sir... not like that 😂.
I'm a big fan of Escape from New York, but this one is just goofy.
Except for the ending, which is awesome.
As an aside, Redeye pronouce "c'est la vie" very naturally :)
Yeh after sitting through a mess, the ending was really cool, sounds like a good idea.
Frank an Charlies landlord, still after the rent money 😂
Meanwhile in Japan a man named Hideo Kojima was like "hold my sake"!!!
Kojima has stated that the escape from New York Plisken was the inspiration behind solid snake.
@@Uneedskillyeah I read that a while ago. He even used a photo of Kyle Reece from the Terminator for his nes version of Snake. If you ever see the comparison photos you will be amazed!
Shout out to the patreons, Kurt Russell and John Carpenter are unstoppable.
What up hommie!
I can't believe you left out the scene where Snake goes around the camera and appears behind the guy that was following him in the forest! 😥
Excellent video, as always. But you forgot to mention that the bad guys have a secret Bajoran spy! Ro Laren herself
I love the influencers who go out and do tremendous things for homeless people, and then tape it and then show it to the world, about how great they are. Like the guy who took his shirt off and gave it to the homeless person ,but just so happens if somebody was taping it.
I like your approach. You're like half way between an actual movie review and what Space Ice does.
The only reason this is the second best movie ever is because escape from New York came out first.
I love it in the early 2000s late 90s every evil take over the world global weapon was a EMP weapon.
I saw this movie when I was roughly 15, and even at that age I couldn’t squeeze a drop of enjoyment from it. It’s sooooo bad, and I really should have watched with a couple friends so we could make fun of it
A dude named Stacy was in this he was hilarious in the TV show Titus
Usually I see this movie and forget that he was in it only remembering Bruce Campbell odd cameo
LMAO Im watching this while on a treadmill!!! Have to walk 10 k a day and watch the channel to get thru it.
OOOhhh yeaaahh!! It was about time!!!!!!
Just got off work and this was at the top of my recommended... youtube knows what i want to watch. Thank you RedEye. This a great birthday gift, a week late.
🎉 happy birthday 🎉
Carpenter didn't actually want to do a sequel to Escape From New York so he did a parody of a sequel and a satire of Hollywood and other stuff he put in front of his crosshair. The surprising thing is that the producers let him do it -these days they would have fired him in the middle of production and replaced him with JJ Abrams.
A shame we never got a third film but a good showcase for Snake's unique code.
A Red Eye video! I clicked the second I saw the upload notification
Only other channel I get this excited for is Howsenberg films 😂
Solid snake at his finest. What an amazing piece of movie history.
Kurt Russell is a national treasure
Blasphomy but this is my favorite of the escape from movies.
One of my favs
Knows Santa Monica Pier, doesn't know the LA Memorial Coliseum. 🤷♂
Still hoping for that rumored anime "Escape from Tokyo"
Okay I stayed silent after the thunder in Paradise episode after you forgot to acknowledge that flash Gordon is actually the villain, I am not staying silent that you didn't point out Bruce Campbell being the guy that he blew the dart into the face in the plastic surgery scene. Instead of focusing on that landlord guy. Red eye I've been with you for a while now and even though I'm not a patron I totally wish I can help you on many of your adventures as I know all of the Easter egg stuff
You know the surgeon is Bruce Campbell right?
Greetings Mr. Red-eye, have you ever considered a Michael Dudikoff review? Ninjas, soldiers and what not 😊
Pam Grier looked amazing 😍
I remember going to the movie theater and seeing this movie multiple times
Hell yes
Escape from New York is the better, more iconic film. But I find LA way more fun, for all its faults. In fact, its faults make it more fun.
NY - Thunderball
LA - Never Say Never Again
Literally the same movie yet played for laughs
Will someone please pay my mortgage?
The one thing that had me wincing were the VFX for this movie despite having a massive budget compared to the first one which still kind of hold up.
Other than that it was an okay film.
YYYEEEAAAHHHBBBOOOIII!!!
My eyes are usually red when I watch this channel
Red Eye 😭 it's Plissken with a P
Call me Snake.
No. On second thought ... don't.
Bliskin ball
Pure classic
Sanke B-liskin or is it P-liskin? I always thought it was the latter.
It’s Plissken, not blissken
That's the woman from Hot Shots!, right?
Did you say Blissken? It's Plissken.
Dude i can't find the lawman review on Playlist ?
This movie was confusingly bad, and yet somehow still entertaining?
No Evil Dead joke?
Bliskin or Pliskin?
Wasn't Buscemi also in the first one?
No, the dude your thinking of was very Buscemi though, very much so.
Love this film. Purely for kurt and producer. Is a bit of a mess plot wise compared to escape from new York kinda was a bit more believable plus better music. But guess they did best they could with budget. Is almost like a remake of escape from Newyork. Similar plot charactors and weirdness.
Blisskin?
14:19 where is this scene from?
I've been in love with Michelle Forbes forever. She replied to me once on a political post. She's based af.
John Carpenter shouldnt have made any movies after the 80s, im mean really, did he make anything even close to his early career?
They shot pee-wee's girlfriend how rude
wow, that wasn't so good
What? The movie, or the review?
I'm a big Carpenter fan but this movie is awful, it's the exact same as the first but worse in ever conceivable way.
First
5:00 i was SURE that this scene was from Johnny Nemonic
