I LOOOOVE THIS DAMN MOVIE!! My boss at the weed growing place is a former Navy Seal who served with Jessie Ventura and is still friends with him. I still wonder if the pig scene was inspired by the experience my boss had in Vietnam. While on his first night operation they had an encounter with what they thought was some enemies...they unloaded on the bad guys and blew the pork chops off their bones! When the smoke cleared they realized they had killed a GIANT PIG!!! It was a story Jessie had heard from my boss and it always made me wonder if that story was snuck onto Predator or it was just coincidence
US FORCES WERE ATTACKED BY ANIMALS IN VIETNAM. mARK fELTON HAS 2 VIDEOS, 1 CALLED THE AMBUSH OF BAKER TEAM, ANOTHER ABOUT MONKEYS. tHERE WAS also an incident during WW2. British troops launched an offensive against the Japanese, foring to flee into a swamp. The Crocodiles ate hundreds of Japanese troops. It was a horrific slaughter!

I appreciate Arnold's hero roles. Sure, they win, eventually, but not before hardships, tragedy, setbacks and getting bloodied and beaten up. It makes them relatable and believable, unlike certain other action actors who shall remain nameless, hell, even Sylvester, Bruce, Jean-claude, and Michael got the memo and they made better movies because of it. One of them just doesn't get it and even his villain roles don't get beaten up or defeated. I won't say his name, but it rhymes with zteven zegal. What a schmuck
That's what I hate about modern action stars because they have it in their contract that they can't get beat or made to look weak,like rock vin Statham and segal and because of that modern action movies suck

They don't realize that they can't all be demigods because that would be boring. Even the villains don't get beat up (iron man 2, the avengers movies, etc.) Just because the actors are superstars. It’s funny watching this movie with the knowledge that they filmed this with a completely different Predator design in mind. And you hear them talk about it like a chameleon and a giant lizard and that’s what it was supposed to look like with a tail even! I guess that’s why in that shot with Arnold hugging the tree the Predator is crawling down a tree like Spider-Man lol

This is the single most Laconic better known as spartan film in my mind. Not because the action aspect. That is given, but True lies is also filled with action, yet I don't see the laconic points. This however has a lot of intentional or unintentional points, that makes it (historically or not) spartan. For one, the laconic speech, that is, the one liners. Secondly, the militaristic viev, but my favorite aspect is, how ones hoplite warriors are the helots for other. Those being the people we follow. The predator practically is doing a galactic version of krypteia and it fails in the end. It's either intentional and therefore smart, or unintentional, and history did a loop to the art, and it is smart.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I have such warm nostalgic feels everytime I watch it. I've seen it probably a thousand times however the feels never go away. Besides the first 2 Predator movies (and AVP, which technically is not great but also has a warm place in my heart), i think Predators was actually really good. I really wish they would make a sequel for Predators, it had such a great concept, and there's so much more story there that can be fleshed out in a sequel.
I recorded this movie off of TV as a kid. Definitely one of my favorite films of all time. It has action and sci-fi. There's an eventual damsel in distress. It has it's bits of drama and comedy (mines as big as a house😂). It also has it's moments of suspense and times of comadrie between bros. The producers apparently had to hire someone to follow him around to keep him from getting into fights with the other people working on the movie.
