I just picked up my 2024 MK8 Golf R 0n March 22nd, 2024. I love it. The infotainment system is a little quirky, but it’s just a matter of learning it. Overall a fantastic car. Get ‘em while they’re hot. 🔥

I went with the DSG. I traded in a MK7 Golf R Stage 2 EQT tuned DSG one.
With the six speed, as soon as you tune the motor, you’ll probably have to put a clutch in it. Once the software guys break the code for the DSG TCU, they’ll be able to pressurize the clutches to stay with the torque and horsepower ratings of the new tunes. Either one is a great choice. VW of Ocala only had 1 for sale at the time. So.. now they have none. Either way, you can’t go wrong. 👍

@@grandeprairievolkswagen It is probably built in 2024, but based on current pre-face lift Golf R, which has enginewise remained unchanged since 2020 (only small changes to interior and software werw made). Real Golf R 2024 face lift isn't coming out till summer or fall this year. I m in Germany and follow production closely

I did moved from the 7.5 to a manual 8 and I don’t regret it at all. Mechanicals are better in general. Yeah the infotainment is a long shot but not bad once you learn it and adapt. The thing I hate are all those mandatory European nannies (driver assistance stupidity) that cannot be permanently turned off. That’s it. I’m sure eventually we will find a way to turn them off. Bottom line is just software. I don’t need nor want driver assistance. Let me drive my car peacefully!. If I want it to turn or brake by itself. Then I take Uber! If I’m behind the steering wheel. Let me drive like a responsible adult. I definitely do not need nanny’s
