    You can probably thank MB Xentry for this technology I remember this feature in 07-08. As usual they are way ahead of most manufacturers in (over) engineering. Good Video. I had no idea Autel would do this. Wonder if it does just Japanese cars or ?

      Thanks for the compliment. Yea, MB, BMW etc the overengineers. Lol. I can't say if it's only for Japanese cars. I think I've seen this function on a Ford, but can't recall. Autel's coverage tool is here if you want to check other cars autel.com/vehicle-coverage/coverage2

      I'll want to believe that it would be available for other recent models of Honda of similar years: Pilot, Oddysey CRV etc since its a feature of the HDS. I'll be on the lookout for checking this on other cars...

    Greetings, I just performed the service, they applied new brake fluid but the workshop did not have a scanner. Should I go to a workshop to have the scanner installed so that they can inspect the ABS module? Don't tell me that I will have to drain the brake fluid again, repeat the process and buy the brake fluid again? Or should I just check it with the scanner without having to drain the brake fluid again?

  • @ttamn92

    This is definitely more of an advanced or refined way to do it but this is not a new thing when I was a young subaru tech at one of the training courses (back in the 90's) we were shown how to do a quick test with the oscilloscope and from what we could see there we knew 100% if we needed to do an actual compression test...and if you know anything about subaru engines any time you need to remove the spark plugs it's not real fun..not "hard" but you damn sure didnt want to do it and realize you didnt need to...was kinda cool to see the voltage drop test on the screen and right there you could see for example 3 voltage peaks that match and one that didnt ... less compression =less effort required of the starter=less amperage pulled from the battery ...
    Anyway just though I I'd leave that here for those that didnt know about it or maybe havent stepped up to a newer or more advanced scan tool or whatever... scopes are really cheap these days lol

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice comment. Haven't done or used the scoping method before! Good to know.
      Subaru and boxer engines😀. Is it boxer engines in general that have their spark plugs difficult to remove?

    • @ttamn92
      @ttamn92 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIYAutoworksNG well the duel cam engines can be a pain just because you don't have a lot of room between the valve cover and the subframe..you kinda have to remove to coil but one at a time put the socket in then the extension (or some add a wobble) then you have just enough room to break the plug loose and get a couple turns and then u better hope you can unscrew it the rest by hand because (until a few years ago when snap-on came out with that super thin head 3/8 ratchet ) you run out of room and have to pull the ratchet out and loosen by hand then pull the extension out then socket and the repeat lmao its not too bad after you get the hang of it

      Can check fuel pressure in cars equipped with fuel pressure sensors usually CAN OBD protocols and up. Some cars have a active test for this. Maybe check Autel's coverage tool autel.com/vehicle-coverage/coverage2
      Out of the box, tool must be registered (Internet access required) before first use.

    I want to know if you have MS906ts /would it work in Africa /How different is ms906ts from MP808ts

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes, different authorised distributors implement the region lock on some devices while do not. I would recommend you chat with the seller to verify if their tool is region-locked. The links I have in videos of the MP808TS are not region locked.
      The MS906TS and the MP808TS have virtually the same functions. The main difference is that MS906TS has improved hardware (processor, battery etc) and supports the use of 2 other accessories: oscilloscope and video camera. Note that these 2 accessories are bought separately. Also, the MS906TS comes with the full obd adapter kit for older vehicles. Hope this helps!

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good comment. Seems you're posting this under the wrong video since it's the MP808TS I used here. Are you referring to the XTOOL D7 I reviewed recently?
      I agree that the MP808TS is definitely not for everyone, depends on how deep you are into DIY. For me, the MP808TS has been a great investment which I don't regret despite the fact that I'm a DIYer... Well, fair to say I'm neck-deep 😂.
      It just makes all the sense being wireless, with more advanced coding/programing options plus being able to activate TPMS sensors. I hate wanting to do something only to discover I need to buy e.g. a separate TPMS tool in other to program or relearn TPMS sensors. On updates, I am yet to update mine since it expired and it still works great. I think I'll update during the sale this year😁

      @@DIYAutoworksNG Hi ! No, it was about this same device. After watching this video I ended up buying an Xtool D8 which doesn’t programs TPMS but there’s a BT version that does. I rather have a separate device since (it’s just me) I don’t want to rely on batteries since I’m a DIYer so I won’t be using it that often. Right after this I’ll be watching your Xtool D7 vid. Thank you

      I’m wondering what the TS version gets you over the regular? I know there is a TPMS option in the service menu on the regular MP808, but what TPMS features does the TS version have? And do you know what the difference between the older DS, MX and MK 808 versions is in comparison to MP? I’m looking for something with good TPMS capability and ECU coding and programming capability

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Autel tools that end with TS have a TPMS RFID reader built into the tool. This is able to activate TPMS sensors directly by placing them in proximity to the sensor. This must be done if you want to relearn or program sensors. The regular MP808 can read TPMS codes but it can't activate, relearn and program sensors. E.g the MP808K cannot be used for what I did in this video th-cam.com/video/joAxsv3C_Tw/w-d-xo.html

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are roughly on the same level. In some ways, it's like asking between BMW and Mercedes which is better. It comes down to preference and a few other things. From my experience with the D7, I'd say the Autel is a tad more refined plus it has full access to the TPMS module. However, the D8 is comparatively cheaper including the cost of updates. Also depending on the cars you want to get it for, you may find a thing or two that either one of these devices has an edge over.
