Ben the owner wanted to keep everything Renault, so no K20 swap in this, he has sent a normal 2ltr Renault Clio 172 engine to the moon and he still wants more! The finish on this Kangoo Van is just unreal.

@MotorAddicts glad he did this thing is amazing I would love to build somthing similar but use a mk2 caddy platform then swap a pd150 into it that's a dream build which some day hopefully will happen. 😂

Loving this van, been in noisier diesel kangoos. Looks amazing and the fact he tried to keep as much Renault as possible makes you think what else one make wonders you could make

This Kangoo is sick , brilliant build 👍 I used to drive a delivery Kangoo when I worked for my local motor factor, I definitely wouldn't have had my customers moaning about deliveries if had this 😂😂

Just one question - is there an advantage to starting with the N/A engine over the original turbo?
Is it better once built or lighter or is it what happened to be there so why not?

Doesn't really matter but the Clio N/A F4R engine is probably easier/cheaper to get a hold of.
@@EdgeOfPanic Thats what confused me though because its going to be cheaper to get but then he must have thrown a fair bit at it to get it to this stage.
I guess if you're going to build it up anyway there's not much point in paying more for the motor you start with?

This type of build is what keeps me interested in cars. So much of the same old same old these days. Even the graphics are period correct, not over the top and look OEM. Absolutely fantastic.

This gen kangoo 2 drives really good. Some suspension parts of a clio 2 rs (172) fits on this gen kangoo

I've also used a gearbox from a diesel (JC5) on my Renault 19 16v (F7R) turbo setup because the stock gearbox (JB3) is quite short and weak, also Clio 2 RS gearbox has quite short gears.
Nice thing is on the highway is when putting it in 5th gear it's nice and quiet too, downside is that 3rd and 4th are fairly long and that does costs acceleration.

This is really really stupid. IN the best possible way. Way to go. I'd probably just add a net behind the seats, maybe in yellow just to put a little more color into it and the back doesn't look this empty.

good question, how long that would last is another question with 340+hp.
@@SimonBauer7 I think you're right, from what I remember the Kangoo Trekka running gear is only a viscous diff, and I'm not even sure the floor pan is any different to a normal Kangoo. I think they are just jacked up on leaf springs/blocks 😂
@@supremecamels7736i assume the Suspension is the same just raised, mine is setup quite high on the rear, and its just as tall as the 4x4 version. about the floor pan idk might have a look if there is space left out for the driveshaft of the 4x4 (mine is a normal FWD gen 1).

Got to love there still more and more motor heads out there who do not do it normal. Dude made a rocket .. just wondering if he could ?? Would he go all wheel drive aka 4x4
We did ask about all wheel as the Kangoo does a all wheel but I don’t think he’s going that route
Unfortunately the gearbox is it’s week point so to put 4x4 transmission will not cope and because I live it to all be Renault it’s a no go unless I put an other brand in 👎🏻

honest, i'd drive that with a regular exshaust. hood mount means it's not going to meet track noise limits, cant be parked outside when it rains without some kind of cover, cant have rolling antilag (cuz it'll blind you at night) or do any kind of long drives since after a while the exshaust temp will be eating the windshield and the rubber joints...
and holy shit that cabin drone picked by the mic is no joke. right before the turbo spools, so what, 2200-3000 rpm? right where you dont want one.
