    Just found your channel..
    Great info brother...
    I'm doing exactly what you've done. Just build my Ls 6.0 w/ turbo and next purchase is this same transmission.
    Thanks for all the info. Great help for all of us.

    Info is awesome, got me a tr6060 from a 2014 hellcat, looking to put mine into an 80’s car with an iron block LS gen3 swap.

    You forgot about the tremec T56 m12s Ive got a couple of them They had the lower 2.97 gearing and triple coned Syncros one came in a GTO it was the direct drop in my 99 z28 needed.. But I first got another one from a cts-v it looks like tr6060 but same internals as my other t56 the weird shifter and no tail shaft I still had to get it cause it came with a low mile complete 04' ls6 the 405hp one.

    I literality did this swap out today: 11/15/2023. I installed a '1998' T56 in my 454 equipped 1970 Chevelle back in 2004. The conversion kit I bought was from Weir Racing in American Canyon, Ca. and featured in Hot Rod Magazine. I got 20 good years from this combo. I have built a 540 Dart M block that will produce 700+ hp as the 454 is tired. I bought the 'exact replica T56 Magnum F" to support the major HP upgrade. FYI: The Tremic T56 Magnum F *** It is not an exact replica.*** The input shaft on the F Magnum is 6.5" long. The input shaft on my old T56 is 5" long. Nothing fit. I ended having to get a new bellhousing, new throw-out bearing, and new driveshaft. The modifications to my transmission tunnel with my original T56 install were not large enough for this extra 1.5". I am absolutely positive my original T56 Borg Warner is from a 1998 Camaro. Measure your input shafts if you are upgrading. Also, if you are doing this conversion, get the Holley X-Member for a GM A-Body. That is worth twice its price. Peace.

      I was thinking about the same thing, but when you look at the cost it’s pretty close and I just decided to sell the T 56 which puts a good chunk down on a brand new transmission

    Big L for me, gambled on a used t56 though I did do my due diligence of testing it but turns out reverse was toast so ended up having to get it rebuilt and now the cost of the whole deal I could have just got the magnum F 🤦‍♂️

      Sorry to hear that, yeah it’s just not worth messing with t56 now that these are out. It was even worth me selling mine with syncros destroyed, t56 is still expensive and worth money

    I'm looking for a transmission that is a direct fit into my 87 iroc with the nwc T5. I've heard some horror-stories of the T5 grenading that I'm considering swapping it out for something stronger. Do you know of any vendors that sell used or refurbished nwc t5's and that can ship to Norway? If not, do you know of any other transmissions that are a direct-fit? It has an lb9

    • @FireballMullet
      @FireballMullet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, depends on your power level, but if you are starting to get up above 300 it is probably wise to look for a different one. Most guys looking for a better transmission will go to a T56 (4th gen) six speed. You can find a used one or check out Tick performance.

      @@FireballMullet Hey man! The car is is stock engine-wise. It only has a different exhaust from the Y-pipe and back towards the rear, and KN-filters. Don't know what brand of exhaust it has. I think an exhaust-shop made it prior to to the car being shipped here. The roads are narrow and has alot of twists and turns so I'm mainly thinking of upgrading the suspension instead of the engine. The car feels fast enough as it is, with these roads. I like to do some accelerations and letting the tires rip when getting out of intersections once in a while. Feels good with 3.45 gears(Can't help myself, too darn fun). I'm thinking about the transmission just for peace of mind.
      Thank you so much for answering me, I really appreciate it my dude!

      For the most part it is a swap similar to a stock t56, I believe the only thing different is you may have to expand the shifter hole towards you

      @richardprice5978 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      technically yes you could use a 2012 Camaro remote shifter flipped 180* forward's, as i have a C7 transmission in a 60's charger and it's under the dashboard/firewall as i don't like kicking the shifter rod or boot and the back pocket if i was using the magnum or F-variant would put it behind me/hip's so to me it's uncomfortable to use AC-ace cobra style rod's my 2-C
