  • A beautiful day hitting the trails with the girls in the Ocala National Forest. In this off-road adventure we check out the Pinecastle Electronic Warfare Range and seek out some mud on the southeast power line road.

    Man I miss that forest. We use to to our there with rails. I’ve been shotgun in an expensive long travel buggy doing about 80-100 over those whoops on power line.

      Awesome, we are glad to have you! My buddies and I just had one of our most eventful adventures and it was great to meet you all along the way. Keep an eye out around Thursday as we typically post 6pm weekly on Thursdays as long as the work week doesn’t hinder us from getting the edit done on time.

    Just picked me up a 96 four runner a few weeks back and in progress of putting my rough country 6inch lift on her and 33 inch nitto grapplers with a Detroit rear locker.. can't wait to get out again and hit these trails! Great content 👍

      @@SunshineStateVikings my wife has a 4Runner TRD off-road 4x4 and I have a 2wd tundra. Do you think I could take my 2wd along on the trails? We take the 4Runner all the time, just worried about the tundra getting stuck.

    • @SunshineStateVikings
      @SunshineStateVikings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say The 2wd should be fine as long as you stay off the super sandy trails typically found near the power line roads and don’t play too hard in the puddles.

      Awesome, Thanks for the support. We definitely suggest checking Ocala out for yourself, we just recommend staying on the bigger trails in the system as @305_blackram is to beautiful for the tighter trails! we checked out your instagrams and followed you as well.

    Perimeter around the bombing range use to be nasty sand and mud when I was a kid. Forestry built it up and improved it a lot

    How much of those trails required 4 wheel drive? Looked like the sandy trails would be fine for a 2 wheel drive truck/SUV. I'm looking to get up there and explore a bit with my 2 wheel drive truck (looking into a 4 wheel drive one). Thanks for the solid video!!

      Most of Ocala is perfectly fine for 2wd just watch out for the wide open areas as that’s where most of the deep super soft sand is located and that’s really the worst of it. Happy adventuring!

      Soft sand rutted up at the intersections. Keep up the momentum in a 2x. If it rains the clay roads get super slick. Your done.

    Newbie here, what is the tall black scoop thing on the passenger side? Air intake?

    • @SunshineStateVikings
      @SunshineStateVikings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome! No problem being new, what your asking about is in fact a relocated air intake via what’s called a snorkel. It’s commonly thought that snorkels are for deep water crossings, however they are just much used for keeping dirt mud out of the intake. Our ARB safari snorkel install video goes further into explaining this and shows you what our issue was. One of the best pieces of insurance we’ve installed on Loki!

    What suspension are you running? I like Ocala, haven't been in quite a few years. It's also the only place I've seen a black bear in the US, I live in VA and am from MI. Was in FL for only 4 years.

    • @SunshineStateVikings
      @SunshineStateVikings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are currently running ARB’s Old Man Emu BP51 setup all around. It’s been an absolutely solid setup for us. We have seen a couple black bears out there as well mostly off the power line roads. It’s actually pretty cool to see from a distance and the safety of a vehicle.
