Dude, I've watched several of these kinds of builds but let me say this - YOU, sir, are the ONLY one I've seen thus far that not only shows how to build the craft but also WHERE AND HOW TO GET THE PIECES!! Thank you so very much, because today I learned that you can buy and attach the components but also, you can SELL/DELETE them at your own base Shipbuilder, and then RE-PURCHASE/ADD them back to your craft. That little detail right there is going to save me TONS of time -- thank you again!!
My pleasure, I’m happy to help and teach! I may not be the only one doing it this way, but it would feel incomplete to leave out where exactly certain parts can be found. It also allows viewers to start with whatever ship they want. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Built this ship, changed some hubs and the cabin (for me, the original one looks a little bit too small). But, overall, such a great, bulky ship. Used particularly this one to wipe out the Crimson Fleet. After that, changed the colours to white/blue (UC colours). Thank you for your awesome build guides!
Oh nice, white and blue is a great combo! I’ve been tempted to brighten up my liveries but then they’ll look so silly when I join the CF. Thanks for watching!
Oh come on, I’m just starting this! There are many other more experienced creators putting out great stuff. Either way, that is extremely kind to say. Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard At this point with my character, I have 4 points in Payload, so I'm betting this ship gives me around 4k cargo. With A class speed. I think it's gonna be fun. I'm sold.
@@WizeOldWizard I noticed on my third Payload point that I was getting slightly better returns than I thought I would be. This ship has 2640 base cargo. With 4 points I'm supposed to get 50% more. Which, by my calculations, should give me 3960 max cargo. I'm not complaining, but I am curious.
I’m trying, and then some! Can’t decide if I should build a new ship for each NG+ once my fleet in this playthrough is full or build out an entire fleet for each NG+…
@savemc6181 I guess it will depend on how many new ship parts we get through DLC and quality mods. If I build multiple ships in each NG+, then I can choose my absolute favorite builds from each to build the ultimate fleet in my final universe. Also thinking of doing at least one home base build for each NG+. Then build them all in the final universe. Man I have a lot of work to do!
ABSOLUTELY love that you used that cockpit! its one of my favorite feeling ones for fighter jet style builds and now works for exploration. knocked it out of the park my friend!
So.. I opted to build this last night w a few minor tweaks and I gotta say.. I rebuilt the frontier.. and it’s finally useful in this form. No more having to jump through hoops just to get a ship that will get you through a ng+ run. It’s not quite as fast as the scythe.. but she will definitely hold her own and has enough cargo to offload into your ship after a few loot runs. Very impressed.
Nice! It’s one of my favorite builds, because it excels in every category. To perform any better in any one category, sacrifices have to be made in others. The Helion was intended to be the best balance that can be struck within the limitations of the ship builder. It has become my go-to because of how flexible it is.
@@WizeOldWizard overall, I’m damn impressed. I’m only on ng+1, so the star born ship is all but useless. This as a frontier rebuild makes a world of difference!
Binging all your vids and this is going on the to-build list…looks like an oversized A-Wing and a U-Wing but with a charm all its own. The proportions are spot on and I didn’t think I’d watch all the battle/performance clips at the end but I’m glad I did… it just mows through everything! Can’t wait to build it!
@DreddPirateRoberts great skill buffs from Connie members, but they literally all like/dislike the same things. Give us Pirate crew alternatives with equivalent skills god damnit! Just like how companions in previous titles all had their own unique preferences.
My guy I've built every ship you have showcased except for the heavy hauler and this one. Absolutely awesome information and the ships are stellar. My favorite is still the Basalisk that ship is an absolute tank. Mine is outfitted with all of the gear from the crimson fleet like the conduction grid and com spike its an absolute beast. Thank you for all the content cheers 🍻
I suppose a Corvette would be an appropriate classification for something between a Fighter and a Destroyer. Probably a good spot for some B-class builds around 60 m in length.
Thanks for the step by step tutorial. Now I know how to build starships! And the Helion is great, love the cockpit, reminds me of George Pal starships of the 50's. Now I need more credits, but the Helion captures other starships easily.
My favorite way to make credits is with the Vytinium mine. That build is included in my Outpost Guide. That can be working for you while you’re stealing ships! Thanks for watching, was this your very first build?
Thank you! Keeping them under 40 m is pretty tough. I let go of that requirement for this one because I liked the shape so much. Loosely inspired by the alien fighter craft from the movie Independence Day.
Another great build. I built the Scythe from your other video and tweaked it a bit for my play style. I never thought an A class build could be so effective and deadly.
Class A is the only way to go if you don’t mind a limited cargo capacity. Now I’ll never choose a class A reactor over the 104ds, but in terms of engines, shields, and weapons, that’s the best choice. Class C reactor and engines are necessary if you want to have a respectable cargo capacity. Thanks for watching again and I’m happy that you’re enjoying the ships! Outpost build up next.
I’m the same way. The convenience is preferable of course, but I have no issue with it depending on what I need attachment points for. In this case I wanted both of those shielded cargos somewhere and they worked best under the cockpit. Also, the side profile of the Taiyo lander is a nice fit with the shape of the rear of this ship. Easy decision!
Just did another NG+ (3 I think), and made this thing as my first “build” ship. Great first build for a NG+ thanks to the cargo and the “everything you NEED” aspect of it
Fantastic, I was thinking along those lines when I built it. Sort of a do-all ship. The only thing it doesn’t have the best of is a class C reactor with 40 power and great hull rating, but that’s what one of my upcoming ships is for.
My pleasure! Idk about the best, but that is a very generous compliment. I try to spend enough time that they end up with a good balance and have an attractive exterior with a sensible interior layout. Your support is greatly appreciated, thank you!
Going to have to commandeer a new ship to build this one. Nice looking build, as always. I just rebuilt my Prison shuttle into a Cabot bridge, no ladder build. Looks similar to the Ecliptic Claymore. I will also say that I have become a MASSIVE fan of solo gameplay. The added 40% really makes all the ship damage shine. I can live without the companions and crew. Even on Very Hard, its murder hobo mode.
Thanks for watching again! I’ve not gone solo myself, but I do mostly play that way in other beth games. Will probably shift to solo when I don’t feel like I need to loot anything anymore.
@@WizeOldWizard Side note, want a chuckle? Go land this ship at Lopez Farm in the Bessel system on Bessel II (LIST settlers quest location). Turns out, this sized ship and land bay placement means you land on a ledge and have to leap to get back in. 😄
Thank you! Needed something that filled the gap between the Scythe and the Aetos II. Now I need to diversify my designs on the next one. I have a few ideas in mind…
12:57 You can use a Caravel V101 Shielded Cargo Hold or a non-shielded variant. This way, no need for glitches involve. I am 100% against glitches built, there must be 0 glitches. The shield I use is the Vanguard Bulkward Shield Generator for the top bit. Then where your shield was, I've duplicated the H30 Atlas He3 Tank to look smooth on both sides.
Hey man, if you don’t want to use glitches, that’s your choice. When some parts work on one side but not the other, the kinks obviously still need worked out so, like I said in the video, I only use them when necessary. I’ve seen a number of builds that use excessive glitching to achieve a look and that, to me, is excessive.
I’ve got a whole fleet of vanilla builds for you to enjoy already, and full modded builds are coming soon. Greatly appreciate your interest and support!
Hey Wizard. I really like this build with it being more balanced for more usefulness with more cargo and habs, etc. My current playthrough I am going to use the Razorleaf as the base for this ship. Going to save my credits for building the Citadel, still my favorite. :)
I actually built it originally to replace the Razorleaf, but then I discovered those 3015’s and that made more RP sense to me. This ship definitely has more exploration usefulness versus the Scythe though.
Your builds are fantastic I have built 2 so far. I’d love to see how you approach a build that’s designed for boarding as much as possible. Keep up the great work!
Currently, the most suitable dedicated boarding ship out of all my builds would be the Scythe. I would just replace the Exterminators with your suppressors of choice. Personally I do very little boarding, but I’m going to make a video about boarding without suppressors very soon. Thanks for watching!
I’ve only watched 2 of these vids but man…this guys work is clean. And I’m over here unsure why when I try making a mini fighter it ends up looking like a mid size or a mini cargo.😂
Much appreciated man! The look is important to me, just as much as the performance. In some specific cases though, I have to throw design out the window. Thanks for watching!
I've never been any good at dog fighting in any game. You, sir, are one of the best I've seen. Maybe you would be interested in commenting on your strategies as you play the fights at the end of your videos? That would help poor slobs like me. Because of your Star Eagle upgrade video, I now have a much better ship. Thank you for your very helpful videos and all your hard work.
Love the look of this ship, thanks! Did you know if you have your window overlooking the grav drive and build the armillary on your ship, you can see it spinning around from the window? It may take a little tinkering to fix the collision but it looks cool. Unfortunately can’t see it until you’re inside the ship but you can see it in photo mode in space.
The Citadel has a window specifically for viewing the core, but I wasn’t aware of that until my viewers told me that if I swapped the grav drive and reactor positions on that ship that you’d be able to see the armillary in there. I will definitely showcase that once I advance through the main story far enough to have the option.
@@WizeOldWizard yeah that’s how I found out, I built the Citadel and tinkered with placement. Unfortunately some of the better grav drives are difficult to see inside but the Aurora drives work well with a top or bottom window. Anyway I just built this ship and it works well, thanks!
I love that fact about the armillary. I just built a ship with the aurora drive out in front of the cockpit and completely exposed. I often have to remove, then replace the armillary to get it to show up, but It's a visually gratifying light show underneath it at night. I can only just see the top of it from my cockpit, though.
LOOKS GREAT! It has a Malinium Falcon version vibe to it. And the cockpit is hard to match and look good. Looks amazing! Want to build it in but I need more than 10 spots!
Not if you go and get one of the free ships as a missions reward… Have you gotten the Star Eagle, Razorleaf, UC Prison Shuttle, Junker Watchdog, or Kepler (R or S) yet? As long as you don’t have to buy or capture the ship, your fleet can exceed 10 without mods.
Nice build. Like the lines and shape. Only thought was to possibly extend it by 1 or 2 sections to get it flush with the front (or just beyond). Might play around with it.
Do your thing! Personally I like being able to see at least a bit of the ship from the pilot’s seat, but you could definitely gain some space for extra stuff that you want.
@@WizeOldWizard ya definitely... Nothing wrong with your build at all. Very cool design. Just thought of it as I was watching. I like to have a little more for roleplay options. 😊
@williamludwick77 I totally understand! Everyone’s got their own preferences and I present these as inspiration and reference. I’d never be offended by a viewer commenting about what they would change, because that’s just the nature of this stuff. The solutions that I find are based on what works best for me, but that will absolutely not be the same for everyone. Plus, getting the different perspectives helps me gain insight that I can potentially implement on future builds. That’s why I value the engagement so much. Thank you!
Well, yeah, you gotta put your own touch on it. I was already pretty sure I could use a different bay and gear to raise it up off the ground. Because I'm lazy and don't want to run around my ship to enter. Sometimes, it's tricky, because of weight management and my obsession with 100 mobility. But that's just me. I admit, I do like to see some of my ship from the cockpit, though. That's the first thing I liked about this ship.
What is the attachment method you mention to determine where ladders will be placed? Love the ship and the way you explain the build is the best I’ve seen on TH-cam, keep up the great stuff!
On controller, you hover over the desired door/ladder location, then hold both triggers and press A. On keyboard you just press G. I explain it fully in the Aetos guide and use it extensively during the Citadel build.
@@WizeOldWizard I put the weapons in same place you put them. The ship is just wider thanks to the Cabot bridge. C class Grave Drive and Reactor. I put the nasty guns on also. Rip anybody to shreds in 2 shots.
@waltershan7308 gotcha, well you might prefer those, in which case you can just disregard all this, but if you didn’t already know: Class C weapons are not the most effective choice in most cases. B class weapons generally outperform everything else, but even in a few cases there are A class weapons that even outperform some B class weapons. Even in terms of shields, the highest capacity class C shield in the game is only 100 more points than the 28T Defender class B shield. So really the only need for a class C reactor is if your ship is heavy and needs class C engines for mobility. For me, if I’m not building a heavy ship, then the class B 104ds reactor only has one less power than the very best class C reactors, and is half the size and weight. This allows you to run class A engines for the speed, the best weapons and nearly the best shield, with the limitation being how much cargo you can have until you drop below 100 mobility. For a ship like the Basilisk or the Citadel, those absolutely need class C engines and grav drive, but I still use class A and B weapons. Again, if you knew all that already and just prefer all the class C stuff, great! Just trying to help everyone have the best experience they can in their ships. Cheers, and thanks for watching!
Love the video like always... but here's a challenge for you... single manufacturers build... can be a while new series of videos for those that want a purist play through
I love that cockpit for fighters also, the aesthetic is just perfect. I do wish that your companions would occupy the seats while in flight though, it feels odd when they're all back there having ramen in the middle of battle. I'm really looking forward to the base builds though, I have several farming bases setup but nothing that's actually livable yet.
I like that cockpit too. Regarding companions...I recently built a ship with this cockpit and Sarah decided her favorite position, in flight, was standing on my lap, looking out the window. I had to fly in third person all the time, because first person offered a view only of her knee pits. She did this repeatedly. I had to unassign her...she knows I'm with Andreja.
@@WizeOldWizard Companions/Crew crack me up. When I get up from the Pilot seat, turn around and they're all gathered at the hatch....uuuh hi? Took me the longest time figure out why sometimes I hear them seemingly complaining in agony. The I saw one fall down the ladder. That one still cracks me up, they all have different complaints. I'm loving this ship by the way. Been using it exclusively since I built it. I even downgraded from the Exterminator beams to the PBO-100 auto helion beams. Those Exterminators are true to their name, combat wasn't lasting long enough. :)
Hahaha man I know, when I first flew the Citadel after the build was complete, Sam and then Barrett suddenly made comments like they were reacting to taking damage, then I realized what was happening. Absolutely hilarious. By the way, the PBO-175’s have the highest dps, and the Vanguards are a close second. If you use the same loadout from Aetos II it should feel very well balanced.
I’ve just found your channel and I must say I absolutely love everything you’ve done so far!! I went heavy on the vanguard role play and would love to see if you can make a vanguard dedicated ship! I’ve tried so hard to make one but I think your creativity is what I’ve been lacking 😅 can’t wait to watch every single video you have lol
@@WizeOldWizard Honestly, I really liked that we got the callsign of “Renegade” and would like to see a nice hybrid type ship! Mostly having action in space but can also do a bit of exploration when jumping from bounties or missions!
Thank you! It was the best solution I could come up with for mounting as many weapons in that space as possible without them being stacked or aligned in rows. I haven’t made much use of the nova mounts, and I do need to start mixing it up a bit. I’m going to work on some other content while I design the next ship. I wonder if I should do some purchased ship redesigns or capture ships to fill out my fleet…
Again a cool build, thanks!. But maybe it would be nice to do an all-round ship for very low level? Like level 14. I think basically all of your videos are lvl 60 ships and one is lvl 43. Which is still quite high if you don't craft anything at outposts.
Peregrine and Aetos are both level 14 builds. But it’s unlikely for most players to get the Star Eagle that early due to some of the parts of the Ranger questline.
Is it my imagination or do the different manufacturers' cockpits have different sounds? The Hopetech cockpits seem to rattle and clanck like they may fly apart at any moment whereas others like Strouds and Deimos are quiet and refined sounding. Makes me think of Sam quoting his "Trucks in Space" commercial every time I take him to Hopetown.
I don’t think you’re imagining it. The Nova’s have a but more of the rattle too. It’s one of those great little subtle details that Bethesda is so good at.
Bethesda definitely dropped the ball on the helmet part of the Bounty Hunter set. It just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the set. I tend to run the Deepseeker or Shocktroop helmet instead. You could even use the Va'ruun but not quite as nice, IMO.
I had a thought. And, yes, I will treat it gently since it's in a strange place. If I use the Frontier as a template to build a ship, any ship. Then rename the newly created ship. Do I still have the original Frontier? Or is it gone forever?
@@WizeOldWizard I meant, how do I keep the Frontier while using it as a template? I would like to keep all the original ship designs I get and create throughout the game. Is that possible?
@@rap33042 there is no way to ‘save’ a design, no blueprint or template feature. If you build over the Frontier, the only way to get that back would be to rebuild it yourself. There are also no blank templates, so you have to start building from an existing ship. There is no other choice. I don’t understand that decision, as you should be able to ‘purchase’ a ship slot for a small amount of credits, like 10k for example, allowing you to enter the builder without a pre-existing ship. But, alas, this is what we’ve been given. Hopefully they make some adjustments to this in the future.
"Fighting in the ship"? Hmm...Did you know something that we don't? 😂 I would be interested if we have hijackers who can steal our ship as well, then we have no choice but to call a taxi or to call another ship of ours to pick us up from the command centre. Nice ship btw.
another incredible build...I'm wondering, with the ability to w-s through the ship parts by spawning them into the redzones, is it still worthwhile to rank up ship building? is there some other perk for it?
While hovering over a desired attachment point, on controller hold both triggers and press A, then select the desired hab module to attach to that point. On keyboard you just press G. This method is not 100% reliable, as there are certain instances where the game will refuse to place a hatch in a desired position based on the proximity to another hatch, as an example. Build order is still important, as there are also some instances where the game will prioritize an undesired ladder location depending on how you placed habs in relation to one-another. I originally explain and use this method in the Aetos build, used it extensively during the Citadel build, and in my upcoming ship there was an especially stubborn ladder that I had to figure out how to prevent. I will describe that scenario in detail when I edit that one.
Yes! But it might not be real soon. My idea with my playthrough’s progression is that I’m going to have to happen upon those rarer ships as I play. Overhauls for ships like the Wonderwall may have to wait for NG+. But I do intend to cover ships like that for sure. Thanks for watching!
Nice build. I cannot for the lifte of me, get the flip glitch to work on ONE of the back spine thingys..... one works fine, but not both. I will manage :)
Thankfully there’s an easier way now. Install the Ship Builder Tolerance Tweaks mod and that allows parts to clip into each other without using glitch techniques. Thanks for watching!
On a gamepad, hold both triggers and press A. On keyboard you just hit G. If you do that when hovering over where you want a door or ladder to be, the game will attempt to prioritize that point. There are still limitations and exceptions though. If you want to see me use that method and give examples of when it works and when it doesn’t, the Citadel is a good build to watch.
You need Piloting rank one, and that unlocks the thruster function for use. I forgot which button because I have mine mapped differently, but you just have to hold the appropriate button to use them.
Built this ship on the Frontier ship allocation. For some reason, after building, shields dropped down to below 600. Is this a bug for using the Frontier model?
I don’t know what causes this bug, but it’s not limited to the Frontier, and sometimes it works in your favor. I also don’t know how to fix it, other than maybe sell the ship and buy it back, but that won’t work for the Frontier of course. Damn, that’s the worst case of the shield bug that I’ve heard about.
It’s an awesome build. If there is a bug fix for this coming, I’ll take it to Serpentis for a trial run. Already know it will demolish opposition. Keep posting new builds…👍
If you knew exactly how much I want new ship parts, you’d be perplexed as to why I haven’t downloaded those mods yet. I’m still waiting for the creation kit. I can’t in good conscience build modded ships when I know for a fact that a large portion of my audience is playing on Xbox and/or GamePass. I want to build ships that everyone can build, but I am absolutely FIENDING for fresh parts.
@WizeOldWizard I get that. Hear me out though, creation kit and DLC are coming this year and with us already being almost halfway through the year it's gonna get here fast. It's gonna take you time to become a wizard of these parts, more time for editing, and by the time it hits you might be the first creator to post a badass build. Just me two cents. Love your channel and your videos, I've just about built all of your ships and watched all of your videos. Love and support going your way bro!
@jasonhyler3644 when we have a firm confirmation for the release date of the CK, I’m definitely going to jump on it before and get something built to showcase the newfound freedom we’ll get to enjoy. Your perspective is spot-on, I just feel we are still a bit too far off for me to dive in. Even if I did it now, I’d still want to wait for CK to actually drop before I publish that build, and between then and now I still have a lot of content to make. I’ll be plenty busy until then.
@WizeOldWizard how do you feel about the new update and ability to decorate ships? Soon as I read that I immediately thought "aw shit wizard is gonna have a field day with this!" But when I went to decorate the citadel I found there wasn't really much to add. Maybe a sign here or there or a plant. I mean the build already feels lived in so.
@jasonhyler3644 haven’t played yet, I’ve been too busy editing! But, without having played it, the whole ‘decorate the inside of your ship’ is a nice additional feature. I’m just more excited for new modules that can fundamentally alter the way we build our ships. Elevators? Stairs? Huge cavernous habs like in the Fortuna? We could really use more diversity with available modules and manufacturers. Structural modules too, bigger, better reactors. So many meaningful things that they could implement.
Ok… Starfield is going to need to give me more ship to ship stuff to do. I dont even care about landing on planets anymore LOL. Made this a few hours ago. Flying around found the Scavenger Capital ship and fleet.. took it down with the ship… fast quick.. great mobility.. easy to strafe on flybys.. shield get low… boost away. Recharge turn and attack again.. Capital ship took out its engines multiple times.. took out its weapons.. was just able to be that annoying buzzing bee… This ship took the place of the frontier for me…
The Helion really is great, the balance of speed and firepower with a useful amount of cargo is unmatched compared to any of my other builds. I never get tired of ship combat. No matter how repetitive it is, it’s always fun and dynamic. Bethesda really nailed it with that especially.
I'm having trouble making money I've been trying to get an amp production going but I'm having trouble with the base my ship never seems to want to land on the landing pad and sometimes when I go into overhead mode in the build menu nothing seems to want to work also when I walk up to my workstations it says there obstructed even though I have them inside buildings? So I'm not sure what's going on but it's making things difficult to try and make money? Have you or anyone else had any of these problems?
The idea of interconnected outposts all sending materials to one place to produce something sounds very cool, but the reality is it is much more painstaking and time consuming than it’s worth. I use the Vytinium Mine from my Outpost guide for credits. Because it’s just one outpost, the setup is easy and it is immediately profitable. As far as the build mode bugs, I get those same things all the time. For the Landing Pad, when you first build it, DO NOT spawn your ship using the builder screen. Instead, go back to your ship, take off, and then land back at your outpost with your fresh landing pad. This USUALLY prevents it, but you’ll find that sometimes it will persist. If it does persist, you need to rebuild that landing pad in a different spot in your outpost, run or FT back to your ship, take off, land. And the only solution I’ve found for the overhead mode lockup is to take off and land again. Usually ok after that.
Best explained in the Omen build guide, first explained in the Aetos build guide and used heavily in every build since. Absolutely essential when laying out hab modules, ESPECIALLY for big ships like Citadel and Krakatoa. With your 'cursor' or 'reticle' hovering over a desired attachment point, especially where you want the game to place a door or ladder, hold both triggers and press A, or just press G on keyboard. Highly recommend you watch the Omen build guide to see it in action while I explain it, and also talk about some of the nuances of the feature.
And these are basically the only cases where I’ll use the flip glitch. I won’t however, intentionally use it to merge two parts or hide a part inside another one.
A warm hello to ellagoodnight, and thank you for watching! You are a part of the less than 1% of my audience, the other 99% being male. I appreciate your feedback, cheers!
The reactor and the PBO-175’s, off the top of my head. But like all my videos, I always clarify that the requirements are there if you want to build the ship EXACTLY as I do. If you’re a lower level, you can choose alternative parts that you have available.
Bay on tail is an insult to my esthetical eye. That, and the fact is absurdly high ( 4 fraking levels high ??? ) ... Then you put the ugliest/ smallest cockpit in the game.... More errors: no weapons facing the rear ! Another error : you ignored the game best guns - Vanguard particle guns, who have THE best dam/sec in the game, and use only 2 power ! That, and the fact you have no EM weapons on this build, making here crappy for boarding, makes me, sadly, to give this build a 4 from 10 points. You can do way better than this, mate.
Gotta say, this is by far the most colorful feedback that I’ve received. Guess it makes sense, considering this ship is also the most colorful build that I’ve published. A ship this fast doesn’t need turrets. If you need turrets on something like this to survive, then you don’t know how to fly. I have used Vanguard Obliterator Autoprojectors on every single build, including this one. But you still got your facts twisted, because they are second best to the PBO-175’s. Also, you don’t need EM weapons to disable ships. If you don’t believe that, subscribe and I’ll prove it. Last thing, AESTHETICS (not esthetics) are subjective. What you think is ugly is based on your opinion, which others likely don’t share. And the ship is three levels high, how high were you when you wrote this? I’d guess 8-9 out of 10. I can do way better than this? How many builds have you published? I’m 3 away from a full fleet! Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard "But you still got your facts twisted, because they are second best to the PBO-175’s. " 🤣🤣🤣 Really ? 456 vs 438, but in fact Vanguard not only have a better RoF but are only class A, unlocked at level ONE (vs lvl 48 on the PBO 175 !!! ) but also they cost roughly 10 LESS ! But since the creds are not an issue in this game, we will ignore this last one - they are BETTER simply because of the RoF - more chances to hit the target since they fire faster. The fact one has 2% more dam age is irrelevant when the other hit more often ! " Also, you don’t need EM weapons to disable ships." - sure you do not need, in most cases, but is a lot harder and stupid than using DEDICATED weapons for that, since such weapons can / and will - disable most ships in JUST ONE hit, without risking destroying that ship. Very usefully, especially when you align with the Pirate faction, and you do not want to destroy the ships but yes, only incapacitate them. And last, this "pearl" you wrote: "How many builds have you published? " I have 1976 hours in this game, right now, 3 fresh starts from zero after reaching 4 times lvl 170-180 on NG+ 7 or 8, and I build over 300 + ships easily, probably. ALL my play-troughs are in "very hard", except the FIRST one, back in autumn when the game was released and I bought the early version. I have a feeling you are still far from my experience. Especially when I read this silly statement: "A ship this fast doesn’t need turrets. If you need turrets on something like this to survive, then you don’t know how to fly." Play more, dude, reach lvl 150-170, then you will get those nice moments ( if you have the "wanted" perk ) and you get ambushed by a pair of Claymore III and 2 other lower class... a mix who will eat your shields in less than 3-4 sec, then will keep chopping at your hull when you try to get away... Play more, and maybe you will learn how is when, as a Pirate, you engage the full fleet of UC near Jemison, and you will fight 15-20 ships at once !... Only with frontal weapons you will be dead in less than 1 minute, lol, no matter your "flying shills" ! Obvious, in my opinion, you still have to face harder fights... then you will understand what I am saying. Do not assume some critic on your build always come from dudes with no experience... want more ? You have THE worst visibility on that cockpit, ( also THE most vulnerable at that bug who bring poorly codded AI companions to walk just in front of your front window then get stuck there, during a fight...) - then you add one of the worst fuel tanks there... pay attention at the ratio between fuel and hull weight added - 480 :56, ( more weight for less fuel) when the best tanks there have 650:60 ( under 1 ratio, MORE fuel for less weight ! ... look at THE best fuel tank there, the 900T heavy tank... ) ; You need ladders to climb to the cockpit, when, with another design, you can build something who allows you to get to the cockpit right from the bay... but obvious NOT with that cockpit you chose. I hope you get a better design next one, keep trying. PS - did you see the weird position Vasco get stuck, right on the cockpit door ? That is one of the many reasons who made me consider that cockpit one of the worst in-game...
How about this: Instead of just bashing decisions made by another creator, and loudly proclaiming that everything you say is right, why not try a bit if constructive criticism? Or, at the least, just stating your opinion, because no one person’s opinion can be widely considered “right”. If you think I could have made better choices, or you want to show off how YOU would build this ship, then you can make a video explaining how and why you took my build and made it better for you. Then we can all learn from it and help each other, instead of going in the comments and saying how all my choices were the worst ones. One if the things that I’ve done throughout all of my build videos is that I’ve used a different cockpit/bridge for each one. For ships that have the space for it, I do use the 900t fuel tank, this ship is too small for that. The tank that I used here has the best size-to-capacity ratio, so it is very useful for a build like this. And yes, the PBO-175’s do have the highest dps for a particle beam. That is not opinion, that is just a fact. And no, I didn’t make that up, go look it up for yourself.
@@mirandela777not sure what you're on about with the "best", but if you're looking at straight numbers in terms of an objective values, the Vanguard Hellfire Autocannons (with a full set of 6) have 810 DPS on hull and 225 on shield. Obviously, shorter range and need "help" getting the shields down first. But back to the numbers, the true "winner" is the Atlatl 280Cs (with full set of 4) have 792 DPS on both hull and shield - once locked on. But as far as practical use is concerned - range and locking on - the PB0-175s have 456 DPS on both hull and shields while Vanguard Obliterators have 439 on both. Particle beam weapons by themselves are better, but it depends on your gameplay style and whether or not you're combining different weapon types and whether or not you have room for a full set of the chosen weapons. As far as EM weapons are concerned, yes having dedicated are good, but not always practical - again back to the available weapon mounts, and whether or not you want to board ships as a primary role. Some will want a 3rd particle beam weapon for damaging ships, others may stick to the boarding aspect. Basically it comes down to your play style and there is no "wrong" way to do it, if it ultimately fits what you're going for - roleplaying or strictly shooting for the min/max experience (or somewhere in between).
Best ship building channel I've found so far.
Oh come on, I’m just starting this! There are many other more experienced creators putting out great stuff.
Either way, that is extremely kind to say. Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard Eh... There are a few other builds I've done, but I keep going back to yours for both the interior layouts and exterior appearance.
@brian96597 well then, I guess I’m doing something right! I appreciate your support, have a good day!
I like this ship a lot. A medium sized ship suits me well. Great work, Wizard.
Thanks man! It’s a nice balance of speed and cargo, making it a very flexible, multi-role ship.
@@WizeOldWizard At this point with my character, I have 4 points in Payload, so I'm betting this ship gives me around 4k cargo. With A class speed. I think it's gonna be fun. I'm sold.
@@WizeOldWizard I built it this morning. Lots of fun. Kind of OP. With my Payload +4, I get 4158 cargo. Crazy.
@maybedrinkin3241 damn those are great numbers for such a small ship. I really need to get points in that skill. Glad you dig it!
Homies giving us a fleet one ship at a time 💜
I’m trying, and then some! Can’t decide if I should build a new ship for each NG+ once my fleet in this playthrough is full or build out an entire fleet for each NG+…
These videos are a ton of work. Can’t rush perfection.
I’m definitely not rushing but I do hope I can one day have more time to devote to this. Nothing but fun for me so far!
ABSOLUTELY love that you used that cockpit! its one of my favorite feeling ones for fighter jet style builds and now works for exploration. knocked it out of the park my friend!
It’s one of my favorites too, thanks for watching!
The ship building and the fight was ingenious and intense. Thank you for sharing
Thanks a bunch man, glad you enjoyed it!
Im diggin this build alot man. Please keep up the amazing work
Thanks for watching! I need to spend some time and draw up the next ship, but you can count on more builds coming soon.
@WatchedZ01 I really dislike the starborn ships. Is it sellable? I have not started NG+ yet
You’re going to enjoy the hell out of the Helion for sure, I always appreciate feedback so please feel free to provide that if you’re so inclined.
21:07 - Jeez, Barrett creaming himself over you disabling an enemy's grav drive, as though there was any chance they were ever going rabbit.
They always do that, meanwhile I’m just shooting for the kill!
@@WizeOldWizard Yeah, I know.
It's primarily why I keep them off my ship.
@DreddPirateRoberts great skill buffs from Connie members, but they literally all like/dislike the same things. Give us Pirate crew alternatives with equivalent skills god damnit! Just like how companions in previous titles all had their own unique preferences.
@@WizeOldWizard Exactly. They're all in lockstep.
Nice ship. During your test flight you flew like a fighter and hit like a tank. Well done.
Thanks for watching!
Oh man you’d love this one!
I love this compact builds that are a bridge between heavy fraither and kind of a heavy Corvette. Just love your work.
Love the videos. You’re the best ship builder I’ve seen. I’ve rebuilt all your ships except the heavy hauler
Man I’m gonna have to change the classification of that one when I release the next cargo ship.
Thanks for your support!
I really dig the shape of this one. And the fuel tank peeking out asymmetrically at the rear is really cool. Keep up the great work Wizard!
Thank you! Keeping them under 40 m is pretty tough. I let go of that requirement for this one because I liked the shape so much.
Loosely inspired by the alien fighter craft from the movie Independence Day.
this build is very efficient, great use of space. Nicely done!
Thank you!
Excellent build WOW! Don't mind rear bays when the overall aesthetic is awesome like this. Nice work again.
I built this ship. It's awesome. It's very fast and deadly.
Glad you like it man, thanks for watching!
Really appreciate your build videos. Best in the biz, for sure. Thanks!!!
Haha oh man of course. Can’t be the only spot either. I haven’t done the LIST missions yet so now I have a reason, and I’ll make sure to fly this one.
Great job. Well worth the time you took to make this video. Classy. It shows.
Thank you! Needed something that filled the gap between the Scythe and the Aetos II. Now I need to diversify my designs on the next one. I have a few ideas in mind…
Another banger from WOW! Keep it up, dude!
Thank you again!
Another banger, can't wait for the next one!
Ok, your ship builds look awesome! I'm still in awe of the Matrix ship but this looks awesome as well. Keep it up!
Great ship!! I will def be building this.
So stoked ya’ll like my ships so much!
This ship looks sick!
Thanks! For such a small ship I definitely think it’s got an interesting and recognizable shape.
Another great build oh wise wizard! Love the Scythe…. But still love my Citadel. Will give this one a shot on my next NG+ round.
Awesome man thank you for watching again!
That’s a good suggestion! I can definitely explain my space combat strategies, I don’t see many of those videos out there.
Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard I've learned a lot by just watching you bust up those ships with seeming ease. Thanks for that...
Oh word haha it’s hard to keep track of who says what, my bad! Glad you dig it!
Even just seeing a little bit of it adds a great visual interest. Very sci-fi alien tech. Exotic power source. That kind of thing.
Thanks for your video, I thought it was excellent
Thank you for watching!
Man, another killer ship. Almost like a miniature version of the basilisk... compact and refined :)
It does have a similar feel, I see the Aetos minus the large middle section though.
@@WizeOldWizardThank you, much appreciated!
Nice build. I built this with a Nova Galactic bridge.
With the Cabot bridge? Cool idea! That would change the look of the ship dramatically. Where’d you move your weapon attachments to?
@@WizeOldWizard I put the weapons in same place you put them. The ship is just wider thanks to the Cabot bridge. C class Grave Drive and Reactor. I put the nasty guns on also. Rip anybody to shreds in 2 shots.
@waltershan7308 oh you widened it, nice! I love the low and wide profile. I’m curious why you went with a C class reactor and drive?
@@WizeOldWizard The big guns and C class engines.
@waltershan7308 gotcha, well you might prefer those, in which case you can just disregard all this, but if you didn’t already know:
Class C weapons are not the most effective choice in most cases.
Nice design!!!❤️
Thank you!
Love the video like always... but here's a challenge for you... single manufacturers build... can be a while new series of videos for those that want a purist play through
I’ve gotten a fair amount of requests for something along these lines. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@WizeOldWizard always dude introduced my brother to your builds and act run the basilisk modified a bit
Sometimes they use those cockpit seat, but yeah usually eating noodles lol.
Dude Andreja does this from time to time but never Sarah. I have Andreja as companion only, not crew, and Sarah’s on the crew.
Really good Video❤
Thanks for watching!
Sounds like a good idea for a mostly Deimos build. Would you rather see a big Destroyer, a Fighter, or something in-between like a Corvette?
@@WizeOldWizard Honestly, I really liked that we got the callsign of “Renegade” and would like to see a nice hybrid type ship! Mostly having action in space but can also do a bit of exploration when jumping from bounties or missions!
Deimos Corvette, ten-four!
I was surprised you did not use the nova weapon mounts up front cool idea for mounts intead.
@@WizeOldWizard Oh damn I thought they were higher level! Thanks :)
Nice very nice 👍🏻
19:16 What helmet is that? I have the Bounty Hunter suit, but need a helmet and pack to match it, lol.
Mercenary, I believe. Not my favorite looking but it isn’t bad with the bulky suit.
Agreed, and I actually prefer the Xenowarfare helmet with the Bounty Hunter suit. I like the solid shielding over the visor.
@@WizeOldWizard oh ya, I like that one too... But that one is Roleplay dependent and I'm not always on the UC side 😀
My only RP is that I use the factions for my own gain. If they have something I like, I’m taking that shit!
I had a thought. And, yes, I will treat it gently since it's in a strange place.
If I use the Frontier as a template to build a ship, any ship. Then rename the newly created ship. Do I still have the original Frontier? Or is it gone forever?
If you build a ship over the Frontier, the game will still consider it the Frontier, it will just look different.
I think that’s what you were asking…
@@WizeOldWizard Thanks for the quick response
"Fighting in the ship"? Hmm...Did you know something that we don't? 😂 I would be interested if we have hijackers who can steal our ship as well, then we have no choice but to call a taxi or to call another ship of ours to pick us up from the command centre. Nice ship btw.
Haha yeah that would be a fun experience, but no I just meant ship combat.
Nice design, I have a video pending showing all of mine.
another incredible build...I'm wondering, with the ability to w-s through the ship parts by spawning them into the redzones, is it still worthwhile to rank up ship building? is there some other perk for it?
If you mean Starship Design, yes. That’s the only way you can gain access to all of the parts.
What is the "attachment method" you are referring to in the video?
It worked! You are certainly a wizard, my friend!
Any chance you could do a Wonderwall rebuild? love the videos
@@WizeOldWizard This is hilarious, but right after i made that post.. i tried again and it worked immediatly o.O
@graveborne8724 haha of course, at least you got it though!
What's this attachment method you mentioned I can't seem to get my ladders to line up
On a gamepad, hold both triggers and press A. On keyboard you just hit G. If you do that when hovering over where you want a door or ladder to be, the game will attempt to prioritize that point.
There are still limitations and exceptions though. If you want to see me use that method and give examples of when it works and when it doesn’t, the Citadel is a good build to watch.
@@WizeOldWizard thanks man! I’ve been looking for ways to place ladders where I wan them.
How to use thrusters? Never seen this option before.
I wish we could line up our ship builds on a landing platform.
I’ve seen a lot of people that share this opinion, and I wholeheartedly agree!
You would be absolutely a beast at building a ship using avontech or derretech mods that introduce extra ship parts
Capital ship took out its engines multiple times.. took out its weapons.. was just able to be that annoying buzzing bee…
This ship took the place of the frontier for me…
The Helion really is great, the balance of speed and firepower with a useful amount of cargo is unmatched compared to any of my other builds.
Omg, this screams Star Wars Fraither ships like Ebon Hawk, etc
NOT NOW, CORA!
Yeah yeah, sure sure, here’s some credits for books, now go take care of the heatleeches!
I made this one with the UC Prison Shuttle I got from the Pirate questline. And I left it's name on my ship. 😜😜
Well that’s a poorly disguised Prison Shuttle hahaha!
What is the attachment method? I'm confused about that.
@@WizeOldWizard Thank you, I will!
Next build UC Prison Transport upgrade? :D
Well it won’t be NEXT next, but I’ll be doing something to it once I have it in my fleet.
They are going to need to add more ship slots
Or mod support on consoles. I could add more right now but I still have all my NG+ runs ahead of me still.
13:59 That's weird, should be able to, what the hell is wrong with this side. Hmm.. I think it's a bug.
And these are basically the only cases where I’ll use the flip glitch. I won’t however, intentionally use it to merge two parts or hide a part inside another one.
Ok I'm liking. i like your voice. Pretty good content. And I'm learning. Not bad. O by the way.EllaGoodNight Says hi. But so far so good. Chat later.
A warm hello to ellagoodnight, and thank you for watching! You are a part of the less than 1% of my audience, the other 99% being male. I appreciate your feedback, cheers!

This video came too quick!! I’m barely financially recovered from the scythe
Aww boo hoo hahah gather your materials and make the sales baby boy! I’m building these bad boys for YOU!
I got plenty but you know how rich people be, penny pinching. I had to make back what I spent on the last build first. I’m good let’s go!
@otissanders2624 “how the rich be” laughs in opulence while single-handedly funding the economy of the settled systems
Why do you need to be level 60?
The reactor and the PBO-175’s, off the top of my head. But like all my videos, I always clarify that the requirements are there if you want to build the ship EXACTLY as I do. If you’re a lower level, you can choose alternative parts that you have available.
Aww man, it looked great on the thumbnail but seeing it closer-up now it just looks like all the other LEGO balloons in this game.
Word, well this isn’t the only ship I’ve built…
Thanks for watching!
Really ?
And last, this "pearl" you wrote:
"How many builds have you published? "
I have 1976 hours in this game, right now, 3 fresh starts from zero after reaching 4 times lvl 170-180 on NG+ 7 or 8, and I build over 300 + ships easily, probably. ALL my play-troughs are in "very hard", except the FIRST one, back in autumn when the game was released and I bought the early version.
I have a feeling you are still far from my experience. Especially when I read this silly statement: "A ship this fast doesn’t need turrets. If you need turrets on something like this to survive, then you don’t know how to fly."
Play more, dude, reach lvl 150-170, then you will get those nice moments ( if you have the "wanted" perk ) and you get ambushed by a pair of Claymore III and 2 other lower class... a mix who will eat your shields in less than 3-4 sec, then will keep chopping at your hull when you try to get away...
@mirandela777 you’ve now left more comments on this video than 1 of your 2 ship builds has received total.
Your support is greatly appreciated!
How about this:
Instead of just bashing decisions made by another creator, and loudly proclaiming that everything you say is right, why not try a bit if constructive criticism?
