These devices all have the same two purposes: 1. Have the customer beta-test them so that the manufacturer can eventually come out with something that's actually worth buying. 2. Collect data to train their AI systems with. Conclusion: *you* are paying the manufacturer to work for them and give them your data. These stupid things are absolutely not worth buying.
This is very useful for the 0.0000000000000000001% that don't carry a phone with them. But I'm guessing if they are not willing to carry a phone there is no way they'd carry one of these lol.
Both Humane and Rabbit will iterate and get better until they are bought by or bested by devices introduced by Google and/or Apple. I'm sure in near future all of us will be comfortable using multi-modal devices. Great review of this early technology.
This seems like pointless versions of smartwatches. You can ask it questions and bearly have to take out your phone during the day. All those watchmakers have to do is add a camera for Google Lens and it's everything you could need if you're not actually web browsing. I find voice responses tediously slow so always set them for text response which can only do with the clunky rabbit that literally would sit in your pocket next to your phone. Everyone raising their voice saying stop for the 3rd time constantly doesn't need to take that outside.
Well, talking about wearable AI, the first thing come up to my mind was smart watch. They have potentials as they also allow internet connectivity, they just need a powerful chip and probably a larger battery as well.
Im excited for the independence these tools can provide for the visually impaired community. The cost and availabilty is amazing compared to the current market VI tools.
As an owner of a Google pixel phone, I can assure you that everything she tried achieving here.. can be done with the phone. One button away... Even voice command if you want
I’m not the only one who feels the pin is maddening. I’m glad for that at least, but sad I’m gonna have to return it. Seemed like a cool idea, maybe it needs a few years to mature. Connecting to all of your things, including your phone makes sense, but it’s possible the companies that make phones make that hard or impossible in some way while they slowly make their own versions. I definitely don’t want to keep waving this slab of metal and glass around forever, it should stay in my pocket and almost never leave at some point in the future.
You kinda have to know how to talk to LLMs to use them. Otherwise you aren’t going to get what you want. With humane, you have to know what to day to get the right service to respond. Whether theirs, gpt, Google or wolfram
Kinda sucks that network issues prevented certain features from working... I think the R1 would fair better, if that wasn't giving them trouble when you were testing. I've seen it work far better.
The Ray-Ban Meta glasses would not be veery useful for those of us who have to wear transition eye wear. I would love to have a good translation feature while traveling!
0 user experience on R1 and humane... Those product try their best to be a phone while not being a phone lol. If they can survive the negative feedbacks and make a new version it might be interesting to try it out hen
Wow I got Meta Raybans for the camera and speaker and day one beta ai invite was a surprise. I love some overpriced Teenage Engineering garbage but let’s be real they’re all just leveraging off LLMs currently and not even well. Don’t like Meta but it’s really just a solid product… that and you can get some slick prescription transitions and let your optical insurance cover it if you have.
I believe non of these devices will survive. Phones are already stronger. Companies will just buy them out and add it into a new phone as a feature. The glasses tho has a chance
Meta has all the labeled pictures in the world and you @wsj expect it to perform worse than unknown brands ? Recognizing a pet was not a fair product test if you put any gafam in the basket against brand new competitors.
someday AI would actually understand the nuances , context and illogical nature of language rather than calculating billions of possibilities before approximating the closes answer it doesn’t even understand
It's really sad and annoying how these 'AI' first companies are putting out all these trash just to be in the spotlight first to gain attention. I understand the concept of bad publicity is still good publicity but they are literally putting bad images of AI even though it can be so much more. Feels like a crypto bubble all over again. But then again, well made AI software still has some good uses. Can't wait until we get through this messy period of underpromised crapware launches.

I like how excited the waitress got after the mandarin translation 👏
It is like they are trying to make Siri look good
5:03 “What a good day for Siri”

Really true though.
They understand that we need to be on the cutting edge in order to keep up with the speed of innovation
Especially Tesla's cars. But when they crash, it's your fault.
“What a good day for Siri”😂😂😂 such a fantastic insult for all involved including you Siri 😂
This is very useful for the 0.0000000000000000001% that don't carry a phone with them.

Joanna is so funny. Love every video she does
For once MKBHD did not made the best tech review. Great and very entertaining job! 👏🏻👏🏻
He's going through his vengeance arc right now
Joanna always had the more fun ones.
Joanna's reviews are always entertaining and informative. More so than Brownlee's.
Meta Glasses make sense ngl
Just wish they weren't made by such a company.
The real usable AI gadget is the one you've got in your pocket. It's not the humane pin. It's your phone.
And Rabbit is literally an Android app behind the scenes.
Nah, I use google Gemini and google lens for translation, they’re pretty good honestly
I love how much effort Joanne put into these tech reviews.
Joanna is the best ❤
Love these! Good work Joanna!!
The meta glasses form factor is a winner
They need to make it look not-dorky or creepy too. Lack of style killed the Google Glass.
@@Nainara32 You can get them in a number of styles and they are designed by Ray-Ban in collaboration with Meta.
Just makes me realize how far ahead Google Assistant was when released.
This is another phase in which some companies try to predict the next big thing and miserably miss…like those modular phones or google glass back then
I'd argue it's a question of timing rather than vision. Google was far too early and it's yet to be seen if this generation is too.
I'm not gonna lie, the humane AI pin sounds EXTREMELY depressed.
This was fun to watch. Thanks Joanna!
I love how psyched the waitress was when the Humane worked.
You're fun and insightfull ❤❤
of all the boring tests about these stupid devices, I like your review the most :)
No local compute? Not worth it
The difference between the Meta glasses and the other 2 is that the Meta glasses are useful without the AI features
I love my Meta Glasses, and this lady. Her reviews are always on point! Great job asking all the right questions and comparing the 3 !
i have the rayban meta and i actually like it.
I really laughed on this. Really good.
Good one 👌 Agree with the conclusion
Another great video
nicely produced informative unbiased video. Thanks.
I’ll take that as a win for the R1 as I don’t want to wear glasses.
All AI gadgets - We're powered with billions and billions of parameters.
Also these gadgets - Unable to SET A TIMER!!!
Both Humane and Rabbit will iterate and get better until they are bought by or bested by devices introduced by Google and/or Apple. I'm sure in near future all of us will be comfortable using multi-modal devices. Great review of this early technology.
Glasses + phone seems like the 2028 move.

Those dumplings look amazing
rabbit, meta glasses, and humane find wsj for advertising together
The meta glasses don't have a transaltion function? Since you didn't test it.
They said it doesn't support Mandarin for translation at this time.
Binggo👏👏
Im excited for the independence these tools can provide for the visually impaired community. The cost and availabilty is amazing compared to the current market VI tools.
Very well done, Joanna! Best video yet comparing these three devices. You rock! 🙌
I would like to see a company make the ultimate translator
As an owner of a Google pixel phone, I can assure you that everything she tried achieving here.. can be done with the phone. One button away... Even voice command if you want

I have the glasses and I have never used the ai feature. They are definitely the best pair of wireless headphones I’ve ever had though
She’s one of the better journalists! Bravo! Super interesting articles 😊
Google was already ahead of translation of texts. I used to use it for playing chinese version of pubg
Asking for AI devices for a timer function is like asking Apple to put a calculator or weather app on an iPad.
What a good day for Siri 😂😂😂
can't wait for them to start selling my biometrics!!!! yay!
2:24, a Japanese teaching Mandarin.
It’s one finger tap and hold to change language two finger tap and hold to translate.
You kinda have to know how to talk to LLMs to use them. Otherwise you aren’t going to get what you want. With humane, you have to know what to day to get the right service to respond. Whether theirs, gpt, Google or wolfram
Soo 1st ask the questions to these AI tools and then take your phone and check whether the answer said by these are correct or not !! VERY COOL 😎👍
Joanna likes her Rayban glasses though hehe 😏😎
Kinda sucks that network issues prevented certain features from working... I think the R1 would fair better, if that wasn't giving them trouble when you were testing. I've seen it work far better.
Amazing technology but this will work better on a smartphone!
❤❤❤
That Rabbit A1 reminds me of a Pokédex lol
The Ray-Ban Meta glasses would not be veery useful for those of us who have to wear transition eye wear. I would love to have a good translation feature while traveling!
You can put whatever lenses you want into the glasses. Mine have progressive lenses.
Guessing domestic short hair for a cat is a pretty good default. I would assume there the most common cat in America.
I'd like to think that these gadgets are secretly funded by Apple just to show us how Siri is not so dumb to set a timer😂
Manhattan Mandarin, what an amazing place to learn Chinese in NYC!!!! 😉
rabbit one is just a wrapper
If Apple fixed Siri, the Apple Watch could become a tremendous AI wearable assistant. Until then, I’ll continue to use my phone
I would not name anything Rabbit.
At least with the glasses you can wear them and it would still be useful.
I just don't see why I should get one of these instead of using my phone. It should've been just a mobile app
A few days ago, she was unhappy when she was kid, now she was playing with kitty, really...really...hi Jo👋👋👋
Lovely mandarin teacher and waitress. They are so funny .
In a blink of an eye Apple could make Siri better than all these toys. But you know it's not gonna happen.
Well you get what you pay for !
0 user experience on R1 and humane...

Rayneo X2 are the best
I love your videos!
I believe non of these devices will survive. Phones are already stronger. Companies will just buy them out and add it into a new phone as a feature. The glasses tho has a chance
So Siri, but worse?
😅😂
I like the incredibly passive aggressive voice the humane has, reminds me of my ex wife’s mother
If you wait for five minutes to go to the bathroom, you have to buy new clothes and underwear too…..😉😉😉🤐
IT'S TIME TO GOOGLE TO REVISIT THE GOOGLE GLASSES!
Rabbit r1
厕所在哪里😂😂😂😂
Basically these Ai devices can do 🌭 not 🌭
Meta has all the labeled pictures in the world and you @wsj expect it to perform worse than unknown brands ? Recognizing a pet was not a fair product test if you put any gafam in the basket against brand new competitors.
no ear rings
As if we need more e-Waste. Star Trek pin this is not.
The Asian woman is hilarious 😂
Rabbit for the win
Why do we want an AI gadget at all?
Garbage
someday AI would actually understand the nuances , context and illogical nature of language rather than calculating billions of possibilities before approximating the closes answer it doesn’t even understand
Let me skip these😂
It's really sad and annoying how these 'AI' first companies are putting out all these trash just to be in the spotlight first to gain attention. do not buy this
Probably some indian staff answering questions
That pin sounds like its about to jump of a building 😅 how can you give it such a depressing voice?? Nobody at that company thought about that?
Total garbage products……
BS
Bonzibuddy forever.
