I watched this yesterday and today when I was shopping a young girl 17 or 18 told me i looked very elegant. I had on a black relaxed fit blazer, relaxed wide leg gray jeans, and black boots. I belted the blazer and added a statement bag and black Versace sunglasses (the only thing that wasn't budget) The belt made all the difference!! It gave me waist definition. I also pushed up my sleeves and secured them with well hidden hair ties and put on a watch and bracelet. It took me 10 extra minutes to steam and style the blazer, but it made ALL the difference. Thank you! This video was so helpful ❤

One thing I would add - wearing black tops tends to create shadows and enhance face and neck wrinkles. Just happened upon your vid this morning and loved it! Your advice about looking at your profile and back before leaving the house. For years I never thought much about that UNTIL my husband started telling me that the back of my hair looks like a have a bald spot! It’s not a bald spot but a cowlick so that my hair separates shortly after I’ve brushed it. Even my hairdresser has one and said it’s a pain but gave me a few little tricks. Bra fitting is so important. I am a petite apple shape, so I have a tummy. I’m not overweight though. I took a colour and image class from house of colour. It was wonderful. My sister is so elegant and is 4 inches taller. I used to copy her. Now I know my style and the colours that suit me. It has rocketed my self esteem.
Thank you for the reminders. I think we are soul mates. I do almost all these things by nature. I love your comment about wear the clothes you dont want to declutter. We may need to wear those clothes differently. I actually am the same size as I was years ago so I dont need to have then altered but I feel I need to wear them in a touch more classic way.
You look beautiful in black! Black and white has always been my go to colors. I was recently color typed by someone reputable and to my surprise I am warm and radiant. I always considered myself cool because I am fair. Blonde hair blue eyes. Now I have found put those are not my colors.😮 But you all who can wear black keep rocking it!
Great video (heard a lot of background noise, but was still able to hear most everything you said). 😉 This was such wonderful, helpful info., presented in a very nice format, with the examples you provided of yourself wearing what you were describing. VERY HELPFUL to add that! I hadn’t really ever thought of the long top with long bottom, or shorter upper body clothing with a longer lower body piece. Longer blazer with a shorter pencil skirt. I’m so glad I found you on You Tube, because I needed to know the info. About balance. Thankfully I’m a stickler for always checking my profile and backside when getting dressed to leave the house; Something I used to watch my mother do, so I suppose I picked that habit up from her. She had a dynamite figure her entire adult life, and handsaw all of her formal evening wear, etc. her sewing talents I never picked up, but sure wish I had, as it seems an almost lost art these days. THANK YOU so much, for sharing all of this with the public, and for taking the time to do this video. I hope to see more of your content in the NEAR future! OH, and you look stunning! 👍👍👍♥️

I stopped wearing polyester in the 1970s. Sure, it was wrinkle-free, hung well, etc but I just hated it. I try as much as possible to stick to natural fibers because I just feel better in them.

I am 74 and every bit as gorgeous as I was at 24.....I don't obsess about age..I don't even thjnk about it. I dress in a very simple, classy style that suits me. But wear hats to match. I never wear black on top...very aging! I keep my Titian hair in great condition. Age is all in the mind! Walk with confidence! ❤🎉🎉
I resonate with the advice about balancing fitted with less Fitted things. and as I age and feel like solid colors look a little harsher on me, I'm having fun exploring the world of print. But I'm being extremely picky about it. I'm thinking that for me, though, the truly elegant way to wear a floral is in a wrap dress. That said, I've been carefully hunting/purchasing some gorgeous cotton Print fabrics in my most becoming colors, in a good scale, the right contrast, to make some lovely (and figure-forgiving) blouses for the summer to pair with white pants. Perfect for both resort travel, & our extremely hot climate. But I will not be revisiting the Capri trend. That was absolutely hideous on me during its heyday.😂
Hello and Welcome! Your thoughfulness will hold you in very good stead! The smaller the print, the easier it is to wear, I find. A wrap dress must be the most flattering dress shape ever invented! Thank you for watching, taking the time to share your thoughts and Subscribing! xx C

I only wear natural fiber clothing any more, cuz I thrift everything and have not many places to go with my awesome wardrobe. I need to work on that now lol!
Great video, but personally I would avoid any primary colour with black - that is, a strong red, blue or yellow, regardless of its ability to make a ‘pop’.

I'm sorry this is from their atelier collection which is more pricey than the one I wore in the video. Looking forward to seeing you next Saturday! xx C
Enjoyed your vlog - rather European! And I am from UK. Although 'fashion evolves', style remains fixed. Which is why I stick to clothes with style - such as good quality fabric, well made, suit my body shape and skin tone - and may just add some small accessory that is fashionable. What drives me with clothes is the adverse impact that fast fashion has on the environment, and that includes jewelery and leather. Although I will not consider 'vegan leather' as that is 'just plastic'.
Thank you for sharing!! If I may, I'll share a bit. I spent almost 20 years living overseas mainly in Commonwealth countries. Yes to your comments. Yes specifically regarding fast fashion. Many of us avoid it (and polyester) as much as possible. Thank you for watching and for Subscribing! xx C
@@christiekramer1 I was born, and went to school in the a Commonwealth country. My father worked in forest conservation, and now in one country not one of those tropical forests remains - they are all felled and replanted with soya/palm oil crops. My work was in waste disposal, as waste is the pinnacle of the West's outward show of consumerism. I worked on landfill sites with engineers on recovery of reuseable.recyclable materials and toxic and harzardous waste. And the garment industry produces huge amounts of toxic and hazardous material in its waste. Much of the toxic waste ends up in water (dyes) and in many countries polluted water is the only drinking water available, One site (not in the UK) there was not one family in the area that had not had at least one family member die of avoidable diseases or had a child born with avoidable birth defects. It is not something that is spoken about when 'fashion' is talked about.
You look very elegant and classy, great hair and make-up, lovely slender figure and similar taste to mine so I'll be following your channel with interest, thank you
Covid pushed me to soft cup bras but yes yes yes the straps need to be the right length ❤ I find fitting invisible kickers at a reasonable price difficult and not a fan of thongs and watch out for see through pant that show cellulite in bright sun!!!!! ! Any brand suggestions please! Love the way you belted and opened that simple clock top ❤
Hi Denise! I am a big fan of Skims. It is affordable, to the extent female undergarments can be "affordable" lol, the brand is size inclusive and I love the pieces i own. Hope this helps xx C
Hi. My work uniform includes a black polo shirt. I don’t think it’s very flattering on me. What type of jewelry would you recommend for a polo? I’m not sure a chunky necklace would work.
Thank you for asking such a good question! How dressy do you want to be? What color is the bottom half? As I mentioned in the video, I'm an earrings girl. I would be inclined to reach for a simple gold or silver hoop or a simple pearl stud (especially if the bottom half is white). Either would add a lovely bit of spakle to your face. Should you not enjoy an earring, maybe a nice flat, not too wide (maybe 1/8 -1/4" )gold or silver chain would be nice? Hope this helps! Thank you for watching and for Subscribing! xx C
Like you I had to wear a black T shirt type top for work, very unflattering, so asked if they could get V neck 'fitted' t shirts for women - and they did! Hooray. I still felt rather scruffy in it so would accessorise with feminine jewellery, delicate jewellery not chunky as I felt the T shirt was 'chunky' enough. When we had events I used to wear a fake diamond tiara and boa with glittery earrings and that was fine with the T shirt and the customers (but then it was in a theatre!)

WOW, this is the most comfortable bra ever. try walmart, not expensive, not too padded and so comfortable.

Hi Pamela! I love to say evolve, I'm not "finished evolving" and neither are you! Thank goodness!. Thank you for your comment and for Subscribing! xx C
You are so lovely and articulate. I appreciate your views on style. Very suitable for the average woman who is just looking for some solid guidelines. ❤
Hello Dorothea! Thank you so much for your kind words. I am delighted you find the video to be suitable for you. Thank you too for taking the time to comment and for Subscribing! xx C
Hi Anne! Love a happy story that includes positivity! Thank you for sharing your story and for Subscribing! xx C
Hi Teresa! You can never have too many soul mates! Thank you for your kind words, for watching and for Subscribing! See you Saturdays, I hope. xx C
You look beautiful in black!
Black and white has always been my go to colors. I was recently color typed by someone reputable and to my surprise I am warm and radiant. I always considered myself cool because I am fair. Blonde hair blue eyes. Now I have found put those are not my colors.😮
But you all who can wear black keep rocking it!
Hi Kathy! Thank you for sharing! xx C
Great video (heard a lot of background noise, but was still able to hear most everything you said). 😉
This was such wonderful, helpful info., presented in a very nice format, with the examples you provided of yourself wearing what you were describing.
Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to write a comment. I appreciate your thoughtful response. Balance is such an integral piece of styling. I am glad you have found it to be helpful to you. I hope to "see" you each Saturday and thank you for Subscribing! xx C

I’m 83 but no reason to dress like an old lady! Talbot’s is great for helping you choose the best clothes.
So true! Hi Karen! Thank you for watching, leaving us a comment and for Subscribing! xx C
Next in the UK is awful for oversized clothes I stopped going in there because I find it depressing that women are now being encouraged to hide their bodies under too much loose fabric it looks frumpy
Hi Michelle! Agree! Thank you for watching and Subscribing! xx C
Christie, I just found you and I'm loving you! I will return often for your measured adivce. I wish you'd share what you're wearing today! you look fabulous.
Hi Kati! So glad you enjoyed the video. I try to share what I am wearing whenever possible, unfortunately this black blazer from COS is sold out. They have a similar one , in the atelier line (so it is more costly than mine). Here is the link www.cos.com/en_usd/women/womenswear/blazers/product.the-draped-waist-blazer-black.1191733001.html

I stopped wearing polyester in the 1970s. Sure, it was wrinkle-free, hung well, etc but I just hated it. I try as much as possible to stick to natural fibers because I just feel better in them.
You are way ahead of so many of us!! Thank you for watching, taking the time to comment and for Subscribing! xx C
Thanks for that informative link to the article about polyester. I sort of “knew” this but not the true extent…
HI Heather@ Glad you found it to be informative. Thanks for watching and for Subscribing! xx C

Spot on. Bra and panties are always the ultimate number priority. Especially for important events. Before trying on wedding dresses or going away outfits, get fitted with a new bra. Always remember. Encourage it in your female family members and close friends.

Hi Angelique! Love your attitude! Thank you for watching and Subscribing! xx C
Thank you for watching, taking the time to share your thoughts and Subscribing! xx C
Such a practical send useful article! More, please 🎉
Hi Sandy! Welcome! Delighted you enjoyed the video and the article. Thank you for watching and for Subscribing! xx C

Belts❤. I have a bit of a pear shape. Belts and looser trousers in the right area.❤
Hello! Yes love a belt and pleats that fold inward are especially flattering.
We can all benefit from the right pleats! xxC
Great video, but personally I would avoid any primary colour with black - that is, a strong red, blue or yellow, regardless of its ability to make a ‘pop’.
Hi Janice! Thank you so much for watching, taking the time to comment and for Subscribing! Black plus a color is a "tomato" tomato" subject. It's lovely that you know what you love and go for it! xx C
This is my 1st time watching. And I subscribed.
I love your belt and black top. Are they available?
Or a couple of pieces you have had a while?
Thank you
Hi Joetta! Thank you so much for watching and Subscribing! The blazer was from COS and is sold out, I'm afraid. There is a similar one I will find you a link for this www.cos.com/en_usd/women/womenswear/blazers/product.the-draped-waist-blazer-black.1191733001.html.

Much of the toxic waste ends up in water (dyes) and in many countries polluted water is the only drinking water available,
One site (not in the UK) there was not one family in the area that had not had at least one family member die of avoidable diseases or had a child born with avoidable birth defects.
It is not something that is spoken about when 'fashion' is talked about.
@@flower-ss2jt Thank you for sharing. xx C

Thank you for watching and for Subscribing! xx C
@@christiekramer1 thank you for your help. ☺️
anytime! xx
When we had events I used to wear a fake diamond tiara and boa with glittery earrings and that was fine with the T shirt and the customers (but then it was in a theatre!)

speaking of bras......my breasts are sagging. I have such a hard time finding one that fits. HINT..try a nursing bra. Most have no hinges in the back, step in, bend over and allow breasts to drop in, lift straps. WOW, this is the most comfortable bra ever. try walmart, not expensive, not too padded and so comfortable.
