I’ve never had a cat bite me hard enough to break the skin. Never heard of the serious issues you speak of.

Adding onto the bites, I had a stray ferret brought to me about a year ago to look after whilst trying to find the owner, anyways it seemed fine at first being handled, it had a few ticks on it so I gave it a bath in a natural flea and tick repellent and removed as many ticks as I could, just before I was finished bathing it, my finger got to too close to its mouth because it turned around and latched on😂😭 it took me about 30-40 seconds of scruffing it and staying as possibly still as I could to get it to release. Anyways I ended up being on strong antibiotics for a week because my entire finger and half my hand swelled up🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m pretty sure it hit my bone or something too because my finger felt super strange for a few months after. Lesson learnt anyway, never trust a stray ferret 😂

i refuse to buy a Ferret because of their short lifespan. I already feel for my 14 y.o cat because he lost a tooth recently. Although i suspected this happened during a fight with my other cats it's also clearly related to his age.
About cat bites, honestly, just wash well, clean with some alcohol and you probably will be fine. typing this with two "holes" and scratches on my right hand. Some cats can bite really hard while playing.
