So excited to have found you! I've been fishing all my life when I get the time and opportunity. Not a lot of bank fishing available where I live in NH, but I love to fish in my kayak. Our problem here is milfoil, hardly ever find clear water except in the big rivers and lakes, and I spend most of my fishing time in ponds and little rivers, therefore I do love fishing with frogs, lol. I've never even tried a spinner, but I have my dad's 50+ year old tackle box, and now I'm going to try his just to check it out (and fish with him in my heart, as always). This has been such an excellent learning video for me - you're the first I've found with so much incredibly useful information and explanation. As a knowledge junkie (which is why I watch TH-cam in the first place) I am now your instant subscriber, and look forward to listening to you ALOT! Happy feeshing, to both of us! Abigail, in the middle of beautiful New Hampshire

Love this series of videos, ive watched every season for 2 years (3 top 5 spring videos). I’d love a video on WHAT NOT to fish during certain seasons, for example I usually wait until late spring/early summer to start topwater and frog due to water temps or in the summer and fall will red still be a good color etc. I’d also love to see a video about which reel speed gear ratios fit which lures best, 6:1 (or slower) ratios for reaction lures like chatter or spinner baits? , 8+:1 for buzzbaits or frogs etc?

  • @patrickl7212
    @patrickl7212 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Your list is similar to mine. One excellent lure for me that I just started trying last fall and into this spring is the "Rapala Rippin' Rap". You can fish it like a lipless or let it fall to the bottom and as the name suggest rip it. I've caught some good ones using that lure. I use a moderate action rod with 20lb test braid to a 12lb test fluoro leader. Thanks DEBO.

  • @MrBig06Daddy

The jerk bait and chatter bait have been the hot baits here in TX. And the rattle trap. This week I think it has really decided that spring is here to stay. The temps had been 70s one day and 30 the next. Thanks for your insight. 🎣

  • @cjscarborough83

Good picks Debo! It really seems to depend on the year on what gets bit for me. Also I’m going to try out the A-rig this spring to see if the bronze backs with eat it. The jerk bait and the Ned are starters. Gotta give the single swimmer propers and the underspin too. Thanks feeshin friend!

Great video. I’ve already caught two on a flat sided crank in 38-44 degree water and I love jerkbaits. The remaining lures minus the Ned rig I’ve picked them up to try. Also, I picked up a spinnerbait, rat-l-trap, chatterbait, crank baits, and jig skirts in red to try it out. Only bought one of each in red. Well see ..... the Ned rig just doesn’t work for me. I fish from the bank and the ponds I fish in are all leafy and have that green slime. The Ned rig disappears into the leaves.

Another great video to kick off the 2022 season! Have you considered using a BFS instead of a spinning combo for your Ned presentations? I did it last season and left the spinning gear behind after I did. I just find baitcasters to be more accurate when casting and feel like I have much more overall control on distance as well.

I need to work more lures up here in WI. I am off the Root River and have used lots of setups and no bites. I work one for the day and the next switch it up. I mainly toss spinners since the current is a bit brisk. For Spring I use lots of red flashy lures with 2/0 and 3/0 hooks but this year I have been getting skunked.

Still have 10lb mono until I get better. The bed rig😱, I loose everytime, in RI everything is grass so I gave up, say weedless but not for me lol. Maybe a video on Ned rig in grass ECT..?? Ty tc

I wanna say craws spawn or at least start moving around even the water gets up to 50 55°, so that's when I start throwing craws. In fact that's what I caught my pb on last year, a big bite baits swimming craw.

Last year I tried the co polymers and the hybrid fluorocarbon lines. Particularly the yo zuri. It drove me absolutely nuts. On my spinning reels it would just jump off the reel and tangle or just make a mess. On my casting setup i has a similar problem. The line was so hard/crunchy feeling it just didn't want to come off the spool neatly... I noticed you seem to really like that stuff, any ideas why I had so much trouble? Maybe I needed to come down to a lighter line? Found this video really helpful by the way. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make these. Presentation is perfect in my opinion. I don't get bored and actually finish the entire video which I rarely do with most other channels I watch.

Question...would you use a Fury 705CB rod for jerkbaits? Or something with a little more backbone (maybe a 7'3 MH Fast)? I am going to give jerkbaits a go this year as soon as the ponds and rivers open up (getting close!), want to give myself the best chance of landing them. Thanks for the very timely video!!

Best advice I wish I’d been given is pull out about 30-40 feet of line then put tape across the spool. Now when you backlash it’s only a small amount of line and it’s easy to untangle ( or cut out if needed ) Your thumb is your friend !! Good luck

Ive just started getting into lures, mainly been fishing for cats. The chatters and others seem really light and I can barely get them cast like 20 ft out. That normal?

Just caught 3 today and they only wanted a chartreuse lizard with the tail dyed red, wouldn't bite anything else not even live bait!

I used to catch tons of fish on spinnerbaits when I was younger but I can't get bit on one to save my life now! But they do bite chatterbaits...It's very strange...Maybe I need to try some different colors or blade types

They have a new xfinity combo they done away with that one :( and I’d go wacky rig over ned rig for my top 5 goin chatter bait instead of spinner bait and probably some kinda creature bait or soft jerk bait over the hard jerkbait
