Talk about old memories...i worked 32 yrs for a trucking firm and built many of these 237 macks out of nitro wv...dependable units...Mr Cochran was the owner of the company and a very good man to his employees...
I know this video has been around for 2 months already, but I wanted to mention what a great job on getting her out of the brushes and giving her a little exercise after a long rest. I don't care about people's negative thoughts about it...I think she's a beauty and hope someone can put her back on the freeway on her own power where she can make her own magic again . Gold kist logo should be saved. Adds historical character to the truck.
Hey Mr Wiley. I am from Kentucky and worked on a farm around alot of machenry and tobacco barns if you use that either on the wasp and bee's it works better than wasp spray. And the others won't be back. 😊😊😊
I don’t disagree with you but this either they sell now. Some wasp are immune to. Lol. 😂. Seriously i use either. Its actually cheaper. You just got ti get closer to the danger zone Thanks for sharing
Hey Wily, that lizard is an anole, very common in the south. My father worked at Mack trucks Allentown for 35 years, retired in 1973. I grew up around Macks. He was in charge of road testing team. Back in the day when they actually road tested every truck off the line, before dynamometers. He would bring a new Mack home on occasion for his lunch break. every kid in the neighborhood would be running to my father for a ride. The most popular trucks when I was a kid, B series, R and U and later F series. I used to drive at the time a new 1973 Mack F series firetruck V8, Maxidyne, 5 speed for Emmaus Volunteer Fire Dept, outside of Allentown, PA. what a blast to drive. Those were the days! Love your videos!
Great job guys 👍 That truck is worthy of a restoration, it runs great! Jacob is your right hand man Wiley, he’s a fine young man indeed. Well done to you both 😊
Love the videos and i know your busy but I like seeing you and Hank work on things together. I've been watching you both for a long time and it's like a tv show you get use to the cast and then the people change 😞 Hopefully you two can work together again soon. 🔧🛠️🙏
Gold Kist was indeed established as a chicken farm started by the Cotton Producers Assn in the Depression Era, but this logo is from their Gold Kist Peanut Co. which they acquired in 1964
Great job Wiley and Jacob bringing that beast back to life Keep up the great work my friends looking forward to seeing your next adventure Until then May Gods Blessings be with you all always
@@CookinCasey That's cool. My father has been driving truck since I was little. He's mainly a short distance driver doing fuel delivery. But his trucks were mostly Internationals so no air start on those. :)
First semi I drove was a "R" model with air assist steering, if you had a tight spot to get backed into it turned into "Armstrong" steering. Don't miss those days!
Love me an ol' Bulldog. Kinda curious about that old Econoline hidin' in the background to. 1976! When that old Mack was coming off the assembly line, I was too.😂
Thanks for another great video wily and Jacob. It was interesting and enjoyable. That is a nice old Mack truck yet. Runs real nice. Engine sounds good. With some TLC and fixing could be a nice truck again. Don’t know if it’s worth $5,000 but is a starting price anyway. Bet you will get that one sold soon. Thanks Wiley. Good video. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
I don’t know much about semi tractors. I can tell you if it’s old or new but that’s because I have eyeballs. I can however hand you a 9-16 socket or an adjustable wrench. I can run a chainsaw and pruner’s and say yes sir! Lol wishing I was there to help! You the man!😁
Nice truck that will be a easy sell Wily you and Jacob done a good job on getting the truck going that was awesome how it just fired right up good video
I operate one of these back in 79 hauling peanuts, It was a 77 1978 Mack Five speed with a stack out back, very week pulling trucks, The old gas Chevrolet 10 wheel trucks would out pull these,
Yes sir! I believe you are correct. I'm thinking that would be the old ENDT-675 (672 cu.in 237 hp) Turbocharged 6 cylinder engine. Enjoy the video's immensely you two, keep up the good work!
I saw a comment before I signed in someone saying 'I hope someone will buy it.' I immediately thought of Matt from Diesel Creek, he buys everything old and makes them new again.
It would be great to find one of those in that condition. Anything within 12,000 miles of here ends up in a breakers yard. They pay stupid prices for tractors and wreck them for parts in a manner that puts every part on a shelf for those type of parts. All inventoried. Any junk gets sent to the smelter. Pretty concentrated matter earning a living in this region and once you begin making a crust at something it's foolhardy to stop doing it. It all relies on connections with the right people to make anything self employed, function. Always liked the R series. Drove an FC 8x4 Mack for a while. They're a basket of a thing but it's fun to do for a while. Started like you parked it yesterday .
Yall need a 20 volt dewalt chainsaw, they aren’t that expensive Wiley! And I also bought the 20 volt dewalt hedge trimmer to, would help yall clean up around these old trucks my friend! Keep you from tripping over those little overgrown trees and weeds! Jacob is learning how to check everything for you Wiley, that’s what you call good help dad! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Never heard that body style called a "command cab" before but it's nice to know. Always thought they looked odd but cool none the less. Nice work fellas! 🔧🔩
They sold a few of these in Great Britain. In right hand drive format, which with the offset cab pretty much put the driver in the middle of the truck.
Good video thanks to you and Jacob, why don’t the people who own these trucks sell them after they’re finished using them rather than just parking them up for years

There's nothing like the sound of an ole mack truck running. I absolutely love it.
Me too. And old 2 stroke Detroit idling
It's so wonderful how respectful your son is. Good job willy

I know I’d damn sure take an old Mack in a heartbeat! It would take some dough to make her nice but what a good time they are.
@@deborahchesser7375I’d do the same if I had the opportunity to get a truck like this (I’d also go for a ford truck in the same size)
