Check Engine Light? Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit High Input - Code P0343

- The check engine light code P0343 indicates that there is a problem with the electrical circuit in the bank 1 camshaft position sensor. Other symptoms you may notice include a bucking or surging engine, engine stalls, or the engine not being able to start. In this video, Andy explains the purpose of the camshaft position sensor, and then shows you how to diagnose electrical problems with one. The information applies to camshaft position sensors from other banks also, if your vehicle has them.

Does the brown/white wire have power when keyed on as well? My red wire on my sensor pigtail is reading 10.36v but no power from the brown/white which is pin 73 on blue side of ecm. I did check for continuity and there is solid connection
I worked on a 2015 Hyundai Elantra that was a crank no start. Had a code for bad camshaft sensor. Checked the wiring and it was good so I replaced the sensor. Even with a new sensor, the computer wasn't reading where the camshaft was. I was stumped. Told my customer it has to be the computer but get a second opinion from the dealer. I told him to keep me updated
So if the cam sensor pickup a fault with your camshaft in my case camshaft is slightly bend, would it keep the fire of ignition also away? I replaced my damaged engine with an import one.

What if you have a sporadic count ? Like it'll jump up to 260 than to 5 than 0 than back up again. I'll cleae the code and than start the vehicle back up and it'll count properly . What could that be ?
Can this cause a p0300 multiple random misfire code?
The code throws randomly on & off & it had been throwing it for a while before it finally gave me the camshaft position sensor code...
Am worried it's actually something else since it has been throwing the p0300 misfire code for some time before it threw the camshaft sensor code.

There are many obd2 code readers. Prices high to low. How do I know what reader I need to diagnose this issue? It seems it might be cheaper to just replace the sensor (just in case) rather than spending money on an OBD2 code reader that may or may not have the capacity to diagnose this issue?

I'm confused, when your testing are you testing all 3 wires at the same time or just 2 at at a time? with a muti meter you say test between the pink and the black wire... and the red wire? Then with the test light you say to test between the pink and black wire.... and the red wire?
That's all fine and good but what if it's not the sensor and you dont get the right volts in the wires. Could you please do a video that covers the what if it's not a simple fix?

I have replaced a camshaft sensor, now i get a p052b code any help? Its on a 2015 rogue
I keep getting the code P0365 that's showing pending on my scanner. When I start the car the engine light stays on until I clear it but the code P0365 Shows pending still. I have change all four of my camshaft position sensors. I didn't know which one is bank 1 and why I'm still getting a code.
What was that yellow wire connected to or was it connected to nothing ?

But why did you not check between the signal wire and the positive wire? You haven't checked if the signal wire is ok.....
Can this cause a p0011 code? I have this code and I've changed everything the solenoids cam phasers timing and engine oil cooler and the p0011 code keeps coming back about there days after getting reset and my car is not run to well but still drive able
Having same problem with my 6.2 Chevy motor. replaced everything wires good. Heard with the LS motors might have change our whole camshaft and VVT solenoid.

I replaced my sensor and light didn't go off, runs good but takes a few seconds to start, when I used my volt meter between red and black/pink it didn't read anything, but when I went between red and brown I had 10.5 V. Also when used my test light between red and black/pink it didn't flicker or anything. What could it be?
