Sitting here trying to imagine what it’s like sitting on top of a mule while looking out into empty air, riding down into the Canyon and then back out again. Thrilling in so, so many ways lol. My best friend just went there for her 50th wedding anniversary and took a helicopter ride over the Canyon. She told me pictures and words will never be enough to even describe it adequately. Thanks for sharing this wondrous place with all of us. As always, safe travels!
Right!? We mayyyy have recently done a mule ride at another park 🤫😅 and can confirm that it is very thrilling on those edges! Aww that sounds like a wonderful milestone wedding anniversary for your friend! 🥰❤️
As for the Canadian Rockies, there are no words to describe the view there. I have been lucky enough to have been there twice and I hope I get the chance to go there once more.
This is the most "in depth reporting" on the mules of Grand Canyon, great job (seriously). I was a merchandiser one summer in the '90's and delivered to the Canyon 3 days a week. The views never got old.
Oh you two! I LOVED this video! We were lucky enough to revisit the Grand Canyon not too long ago, and loved every minute. Your in-depth views are soooo helpful for those who have or have not been able to visit our National Parks. We LEARN so much from your travels, I can’t thank you enough for all the time and effort in producing your spectacular videos! Tim and I JUST returned two nights ago from a three week land and cruise vacation to Norway and the British Isles. One of our excursions was a train ride across Norway, from Oslo to Bergen (on the west coast, and beginning of the fiords). It is known to be “the most beautiful train ride in the world”, and I certainly agree…you know, because Norway’s latitude is so high, that there was a TON of snow along that train ride! We made a stop where there were a mass of skiers on 6 foot deep snow, in mid-MAY! It was incredible. Anyway, you were so lucky to have been able to actually camp in the Park’s campground. Very difficult to get reservations, however, we drove through that campground you stayed in, and came across so many elk, too! Beautiful animals. Anyway, as-always, thanks so much for sharing your lives and travels with me! I really missed you guys while traveling in Europe! Love you both, Virginia 💕
Love the Grand Canyon! Didn't realize you can take a train to see it! Would love to do the mule ride, but wow they get so close to the edge! I'm afraid my mule might decide he's tired of carrying heavy tourists and end it all! Grand Canyon is so beautiful!
I absolutely adored The Grand Canyon. We stayed at the El Tovar in 2020 and loved it. We watched your original video to help us plan that trip and then we couldn’t stop watching ALL your videos! 💖
Great video. I have never been and the day I was going to go last November the high was 28 degrees so I wiped out. Didn't know about the train so I will do that next fall. Actually drove a train once when I was young. Grandpa worked for the Great Northern so he took my Brother and myself to the round house. Very technical how to drive. We moved the lever from 0 to 1. RV Unplugged challenge would be to put an e bike together.
I love watching your videos. Im one on those people that trains for rim to rim to rim, over and back in 2 days. Just spent May 10 to 14th there. 2 nights in the National forest outside the park and one night at cottonwood camp. I love this park. I have visited and hike the the past 5 years. Love seeing the mulez on trail. Amazing place.❤❤❤
Wow, John that must be an incredible experience to go rim to rim and back again! Do you overnight at Phantom in each direction for a trip like that? 👍- Howard
Beautiful views. The canyon is gorgeous, but I have a severe phobia of heights,so I would have to look from afar, not to close. Stunning though. Loved the e-bikes,so cool!! I absolutely love trains though,so beautiful. So glad to see the puppies out and about. Take care.❤️🇨🇦
We've been to the Grand Canyon a couple of times, but it has been years. Once to the South Rim and Once to the North Rim. We need to get back there again. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
What a great review of your stay and adventure in the Grand Canyon, thanks for sharing. The information about the mules, very interesting. Fingers crossed that I get to go see in person.
Loved this one! I still have The Redwoods vid in my "to enjoy" playlist. The E-bike looked like a perfect way to go! And the mules - that would be my choice of how to "hike" back up - these mules sound amazing and love how they move them from position to position.
We've been to the Grand Canyon twice (South Rim) and once was by the train from Williams, AZ (pre-RV days). That was fun! And we had breakfast at El Tovar! Delicious! This year we plan to finally visit the North Rim!
You'll have to let us know about the North Rim! Every time we've been in the area it is closed from snow. 😮 Glad you got to enjoy both the train and El Tovar! 👍- Howard
I’ve been to the GC twice. Once when I was 16 and again about 6 years ago. It’s amazing to stand on the rim and look down and across. I was blown away both times. I would like to go down to the bottom. No way my would go down on a mule….nope 😂. I can’t wait to go back and boondock outside the park 👍🏼
Another spectacular video! Thank you! We traveled to GC by train out of Williams - it was great but now really wanting to camp at the GC and hang out with the elk.
Hi y’all! We’ve been to GC (north and south rim) but we didn’t go down into it. I cycle so I’m stoked about that bike route! Tnx for the tip! Hope to see ya out someday! Mark, Gail… and Diesel Dog 🐶!
Another great video guys. When my dad had cancer he wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, but sadly the cancer came in too fast and he never got the chance.
Watched u on rv unplugged -(dammit you were so stinking close to the win) n then decided to check out your channel, really enjoyed your tour here, so I subbed. Pretty cool u can program your gen, and had no idea those lectric bikes had a back seat lol. 🍻
Thanks and so glad you found us! RV Unplugged was an incredible experience, and appreciative of all the great friendships made from competing in the show. We're glad you're along for the journey! 👍- Howard
Now I want to take pics from the bottom but when we were there 19 years ago I only made it about 200 feet down the trail before my fear of heights, literally, petrified me. I'm trying to slowly work on that so we can make it at least partway down on our next trip. Thanks so much for the indepth info. I'd love to do the mule ride but that looks even more terrifying than walking. I had a hard time even watching it on the TV. 😳 -Troy (has zero fear of heights and kept walking out on the edge) & Aimee (who almost had a coronary just watching him from a safe distance back)
You can do it! Particularly with the Bright Angel Trail, there are so many points you can stop, enjoy the view and head back up. The trail is actually not very steep and mostly switchbacks for the first section below the rim. 👍- Howard

Thats the same as the Rockies in Canada RE Banff to Jasper, it's unbelievable

Great Job! I’ve been there numerous times and have done most things except the mule ride. Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks! Lots more parks to go this year! 👍- Howard

Fun episode. I was there in 2013, and it really is amazing.
Thanks Dave! It really is, I can admit that now 😂❤️

Great Narration! This is the most thorough review that I had ever seen about the Grand Canyon.
Very gooood video of the different ways to see and enjoy the Grand Canyon!!!
Great work you 2!!!

Can't to visit these parks. Thank you excited for next week.
Thanks so much, Mike! 👍- Howard
I think the mule ride is a must.
This was so cool to learn about everything!

We’d love to do the iconic mule ride into the Grand Canyon! That would be amazing!!! 💖
Agreed! It books up VERY quickly, but they do tend to have some spots open for the rim trail ride. 👍- Howard
Another spectacular video! Thank you! We traveled to GC by train out of Williams - it was great but now really wanting to camp at the GC and hang out with the elk.
We were just there last year. Stayed on forest service rd 302. lots of wild life. great video. Thanks Don
Spent 5 nights in Mather mid April, loved it
That's about when we were in Mather! If you saw our RV, that was us! It's a great campground, loved the large campsites. 👍 - Howard
Hi y’all! We’ve been to GC (north and south rim) but we didn’t go down into it. I cycle so I’m stoked about that bike route! Tnx for the tip!
Hope to see ya out someday! Mark, Gail… and Diesel Dog 🐶!
What a great video!!

Wonderful, as always! G
Thanks so much, Greg!
Great video!
Thanks, Don! 👍- Howard
One of my favorite National Parks! I wouldn’t ride on a mule on that trail though lol 😂❤❤
Haha, Kim you're not alone! Lots of people have commented that they'll leave the mule rides to someone else. 😂 - Howard
I was just there two weeks ago!
Thanks!
Thank YOU, Greg! It was great meeting you both a couple weeks ago. Hope our paths cross again in the future! 👍- Howard
You should see the North Rim! That is my favorite! Although it is a long drive to get there.
It's still on our list. 😍 We were over on that side not too long ago, but it's closed until at least June 2 because of snow 😲
This is one place I want to go to if I get the chance to go back to the USA. Been there 3 times but never had the chance to get there.
Now I want to take pics from the bottom but when we were there 19 years ago I only made it about 200 feet down the trail before my fear of heights, literally, petrified me. Thanks for this, great info and video for us visual types. You ladies didn’t look very comfortable on the back of those bikes!
Super random. What mics do you use?
Hi Courtney! Not random at all! Our mics and gear are on our Amazon Shop page. Thanks for watching! 👍- Howard www.amazon.com/shop/newstatenomads
just wow1
Stay healthy 😜🤓 !!!
Thanks so much! 👍- Howard
Viewer #1....woot!
Haha yay! 🥇🥰
Poor mules !
awww give the squirrel a piece of your snack, I carry peanuts on the shell to give them.
That makes them dependent on humans, and less likely to survive the off season. It can also make them pests.
