Thanks for watching! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Normal people: Let's stay inside, the roads are slick from the snow storm
Topher: *grabs BRZ keys*
Just another drive for Topher
Good thing you haven’t forgot to never get in the car before you shake your shoes first thing before getting in 👍 19:52
Slush is the hardest thing for a tire manage. The aquaplane factor of water and slip of snow.
It's true, this was a challenge!
As someone who is moderately interested in a BRZ, and lives in Canada, this is a very interesting video
Power went out in my cabin due to a crazy snow storm, don’t have snow tires on the Miata so sitting by the fire watching this is the next best thing
I completely understand why people choose to live in warmer climates, but to me this is just another great representation of what makes the four seasons fun. Yeah, it took me 90 minutes to drive home last night, but the beauty and the vibe of it all hits just as strong as a warm summer’s day.
That comes through here in your driving and even your voice. Just as much fun to watch as you pushing a vehicle to its limits on dry pavement.
In the midwest youre still driving in a straight line or taking a 90° turn at an intersection. Even with snow it ain't all that fun
@@AlumarsX There are enough curves and great driving opportunities out there, but I hear you. Lifelong Michigander here and in Topher’s backyard.
@@AlumarsXsounds like you just live a boring ass area 😂 plenty of curvy bits and “touge” sections in my part of the Midwest
over near AA and up north we have very nice to drive curvy roads people not from here just don't know@@jefflass699
Hey Topher, your videos on your 2022 Brz helped me in deciding to purchase my own 22’ BRZ last month. It’s such a fun car to drive Thanks
Cool that the exhaust makes small pops and burbles with some slight exhaust mods! I’m all for some little overrun pops, as long as they happen naturally
Unpredictable pops are good pops!
@@TheTopherI recall you saying you don't like burble tunes, is that right?
@@Tomas-mu1kbburble tunes are corny, a natural pop out the engine is not a burble tune. You’re on TH-cam so you can just look up the difference between the 2 lol
@@yooooo6296 lol
I’ve got WS90s on mine and it did absolutely phenomenal. I stopped in the middle of several steep untouched hills and it crawled right up. I was very impressed.
Thank you for this. It reaffirmed my resolve to buy a gr86 despite my reservations of winter driving
Thanks for making this video and the previous one. Hopefully it’s an eye opener for a lot of people.
This has been the year of the “Safari build” and I’ve seen so many people put Wildpeak AT Trails on their performance car with a small lift and whatnot. They think those tires are as good as snow tires just because they look aggressive, but they don’t realize that their cars are even more dangerous in winter weather now that they’ve raised the center of gravity and installed some squishy all seasons on their cars that were engineered to use 255/35r19s on lightweight wheels.
I found my first gen FRS/86 with snow tires to handle excellent in snowy conditions. Downright fun
ive been using these tires for 3 years in the winter time. Rav4 awd. i inflate em to 30 psi. incredible traction
Watching from Synd3y in the summer. Cant comprehend driving in these conditions day to day
so cool topher loved this video
19:23👌
Nice review. I bought a set of these winter tires today. I thibk these tires shine best on ice, slush, frigid temperatures, based on fallken's videos about them. Looking forward to the next snow storm or ice storm here in Michigan. ❄️
this snow storm sucked man 20 hours of OT this week plowing but i guess itll be worth it when i get my check haha
Up in Washington it snowed a tiny bit but turned to slush and ice and I was driving exactly like this in my 2006 4.0 mustang
In washington this year I went to visit leavensworth for a couple days and on the way back towards seattle there was a huge blizzard, it was said it was the 4th in washington history. Made it right through the mountains with some snow chains and dw06 continentals 😂 couldn't even see 2ft in front of me through that shit.
I just love that a lightly modded BRZ can pull this stuff off 💀
I drive my unmodified 2022 GR 86 on 17' Blizzak WS90's in Canada. It's a party on wet snow.
Where u in Canada? Do u suggest it as daily car in Calgary? Even in heavy snow? Planning to get a brz
I live in Sterling Heights. It was pretty wicked last night!
it was!
Drove 4 hours in it last night. Unfortunately in my wife’s suv with no snow tires and not my car that has snow tires…
perfect weather for hot choclate

with the new tech theses days, any car can be driven in the snow, with proper tires & emergency snow tire chain's
As much as I love my VB WRX I don't know if I am having as much fun as you are. Not sure If I should have gotten the BRZ or if I should just move from southern AZ to Michigan.
hey, what tires you love the most for winter ? i only owned the blizzard ws80 & ws90 and i liked the ws80. want to see if there’s other good tires you recommend. thanks !
Did you do the pedal dance or just traction off for this video?
Hi. I live in Calgary. I daily drive 2013 Brz here. I changed from summer tires to kumho studded recently after my car tried to kill me on highway. I think studded are the best for rwd light sports car .
I would be stressed to all out hell. Seems you're having too much fun though 😁
5” of fresh snow in 37° shouldn’t be a problem for any car with rear wheel drive. It’s the ice that’s the problem. What’s underneath the 5” of snow? If THAT is frozen, then okay I am mildly impressed. I’ve driven a 400HP BMW M5 in fresh snow and not had problems.
As said before - it’s the ice ya gotta worry about. Still, I do love my ‘23 Subaru Outback Limited XT.
Mine feel into a ditch yesterday 😅 unscathed tho, black ice I feel
I want one of these and I live in mass I just want to see if it’s drivable in the snow
It’s so funny being in Michigan and almost crashing while driving the exact same roads on my winter-tired Honda Fit 😂
I don't have the guts to drive my '23 through the winter xD
Man I've run blizzaks on the frs for about 10 years this is the first season I've ever been actually snowed in and actually stuck to the point of not even worth trying. Omaha, ne 2024😅
Do you always turn tracktion and stability control off for snow? Just got a rwd with winter tires on, so dont know what is better
Yes, you should always control your own car in the snow especially with winter tires. The stability and traction control has almost made me crash on numerous occasions. This applies to pretty much any vehicle in the snow. I've owned FWD, RWD, and AWD, and I turn TC off on all of them when driving in snow.
do you stick with the 0w20 oil in this cold climate and do 5w30 in the summers?
Yeah, 0w20. I'd only do 5w30 if I were tracking it
Is this footage from a few days ago when it snowed? I ask because theres a pretty big snowstorm happening right now in the area.
this was last night!
Are you having any rtv silicone making there way to the oil pan?
lmao i take this road everyday
Okay I admit Topher has giant beach ball size 🥜 to floor it in slush and ice in this car. For most of my adult life I’ve driven an SUV with 4WD and snow tires (4Runner/Suburban) in inclement weather, but I can recall going out to play in the snow when my college boyfriend’s roommate asked “Who wants to do donuts in the Bi-Lo parking lot in my Mustang?” (This was in the’70s) 😂
F ice!
Track mode??? 🙄
Track mode is just a reduced assistance form of traction control. It provides less (but some) intervention in the event of wheel spin or oversteer.
No need to get all 🙄 about it. 😉
why wouldnt you?
Track mode works for sure. It’s just a setting that will catch you before things get too crazy. However, I’ve found that if I’m sliding around a lot, my brakes get hot in track mode. I usually leave everything in normal ON or turn it off for deep snow.
He wasn’t in track mode, though the cluster is identical. He had everything turned off if you look and see he has two symbols light up and no red track sign in the middle
