Just found your channel loving the videos .. I dont fly and my route to see my Mum in Cork, Ireland has been cut off 😢 so I'll be getting the train to Dublin then bus down to Cork .. your video helped 🙌🙌😍
Thanks for this. Our family fr.Asia is planning take train fr.London - Rome via Paris. We advised our daughter to bring just 1 luggage, but she now wants two, following you. Haha!
Such great St Pancras history and etymology! Thanks for putting that together. It gives my train travel so much more meaning to know about this kind of thing.
I'm amazed there are still so many flights from London to Paris, when the train is so obviously the best choice. Maybe they're mostly for connecting long-haul passengers?
Not surprising if you ask me. While the Eurostar is a more pleasant way between those cities a lot of people wont think about taking the train, be it because of unfamiliarity, higher prices or just not liking trains because of their own experiences. I dont know about what flights are between Paris and London but also keep in mind that Eurostar doesnt really compete with low-cost operators, their service level and quality is more akin to larger national operators such as British Airways or KLM. Also business travel! If money isnt an issue why bother going on a common train if you can get on business class on a large airliner. I suspect that something like business class like the Italian high speed trains have would be a great success.
Oeeh nicee the original London - Paris route. I'll be going to London for the first time with Eurostar (from Brussels with Interrail) which Im really looking forward to. Although sadly Ill likely have one of the new trains as well, the oldies don't seem to visit Belgium anymore.
Just planning my second rail journey around Europe. My first 40 years ago, my second will be Summer 2023. Thank you for the up to date information and background history. I did (briefly) consider a medium sized suitcase but then noticed the steps and reverted back to a carry on. Just curious if you have any tips for packing or practical travel items such as water bottles etc. Thank you for an excellent content, love your channel. 🌏💕
I think it’s a bit misleading to tell people the train is faster when it’s not. From London to Paris it will take you 2-3 hours. It’s about half that time on a plane. The train MAY be faster if you factor in commute time to the airport but that’s a big iff, based on things like traffic congestion, distance from hotel to airport etc. Overall though, the train is still imo a better recommendation for people who really want to maximize their time in Europe. Because it lets you really feel as if you’ve seen so much of the continent, even if you’re only staying in each city for a few days.
I have to compliment you, I really liked your video. It's really nice how you did it. I'd be happy to leave you a Like. Definitely check it out again 👍🏻 your surprise boy on TH-cam 🙂
