  • Hi!
As part of my Sculpting 101 series we start big with this first chapter where we will see how to start a action figure head sculpt and define the major shapes.
In second chapter we will go over secondary shapes and fine detail.
I hope you enjoy this video, any comment, critique, question please let me know in the comments.
    Thank you!

I came to you to learn a bit a sewing and you have taught me that and sculpting too. Thanks for making it less intimidating!

Thank you so much for your constant support Don!! Being able to reach and maybe push someone else to start doing customs is so rewarding! So thank you for letting me know the effort is useful and not a waste of time and energy ☺️

Wow! I'm trying to start sculpting and I come across these "crazy" ideas for making face sculpting easier. One of those ideas was kinda similar to the one you showed in the video, can't be more exited to know how well it works! Thank you for sharing this.

Could you please explain how you made the mold of the V toys head?Did you use putty and just press the head into it on both sides? I’ve been looking for a method like yourself to recreate and sculpt heads, and i have not found success with silicone and resin.

First of all I mold the neck plug (the ball socket for the articulation), then without removing the silicone, I mold the face just pressing it there and cover until the end of the ears, but only covering the front, not the back of the ears. I also make sure I cover part of the bottom mold. The back of the ears will be molded in the third stage when we use silicone again for the back of the head.
The idea is that each one of these three pieces only match together in one position. Check any two part mold video to see and understand the concept. You can contact me on Facebook and ask any question there too.
I will queue a molding video for the channel nonetheless 😊
