I think they actually edited the scene when it originally aired to have Gurd’s head still attached to his body. What you’re seeing in this video is the Ocean audio over the uncut footage, because there’s no way to find the Ocean footage outside the Rock the Dragon Edition Blu-Rays.

I feel that “next dimension” only works when the villains say it, and not when casually said. When the villains say it, it’s clear that they want to kill people but they are putting flair into it. Nappa makes strange comparisons so it shows how eager he is to kill. Vegeta sounds just as threatening as he is when he says he will kill them or any other more natural euphemism for killing. Finally, Frieza sounds like the person who would just kill people so he would just put them in another dimension. It also helps that the afterlife can be thought of as another dimension, especially in the original Japanese. Meanwhile, when anyone else says it, it just sounds like they live their lives far away and they want to see their friends again, barring the narrator which just sounds censored.
Sorry man but it sounds stupid and childish. Death is a natural process of life and it's something that happens VERY often in dragon ball so trying to cover it with "another dimension" is bullshit.

They also said Goku was in the Other World, which actually the name of the place where the dead go in Dragon Ball. Technically, considering the way the afterlife works in DBZ, the dimension thing is true, if you think about it...
The afterlife is actually the same dimension, considering even the living can reach it (apparantly, even ki signals can be felt from there, otherwise Goku wouldn't have been able to IT to King Kai).
So, they'd have to say "I will send you to the exact same dimension you're currently in!" to be correct.

While the Nicktoons edit of Kai also got rid of the word death or kill, at least they did stuff like say he was "gone" or "no longer with us". They also said Goku was in the Other World, which actually the name of the place where the dead go in Dragon Ball. In other words, Funimation worked around it, not pretend it was something else like Saban did.

You know technically they're right; the show demonstrates that the Afterlife in Dragon Ball's metaphysical cosmology is Another Dimension. It's an accurate translation for death (even the Oblivion Dimension that everyone thinks you go to when you die here in RL).
