Yes, POS Malaysia place can do lots of things beside the usual sent letter, postage & packages. You can pay many type of bills, renew insurance, vehicle road tax etc. .
Tipping is not our culture (even a street side vendor will return a 10 cent change if there is any). You still can do tipping if you go eat at some high end fancy restaurant or hotel restaurant.

Malaysia is ONLY good of the exchange rate is in your favor. US $1=RM $4 so you do the math. Ask the locals how much a Toyota Camry, Iphone or any electronics cost there. Buying a vehicle is like paying a house mortgage. Thats right, 4 to 5 times more expensive and you cannot offset that cost because locals don't earn 4 times more so the buying power isnt great at all. I think most Malaysians are already numb to these prices. It was wwwaaayyy cheaper when I was growing up there back in the 70s. A bowl of noodles costs about RM $1.50 and you would be full if you spend RM$5 for dinner. And the king of fruits i.e. durian was dirt cheap also. Nowadays due to commercialization, 1kg can cost up to >RM $50. These days everything costs money. I was shocked we had to pay for public parking pretty much everywhere unlike 30 years ago. The only thing I miss about Malaysia is the food and family. Hate the hot and humid weather! Greetings from a Malaysian living in Dallas, TX.
