- Moving To Malaysia | Quit Our Jobs | Sold Everything | Travel Couple | Debt Free | Travel The World: WE MOVED TO MALAYSIA!! We finally left New Orleans and the road trip was long and cold. We were late for our flight in Houston but so was the entire airport, due to the weather. We eventually boarded and arrived in the Marita Airport in Japan, that's when we found out our luggage was left in Houston. We finally made it to our new home in Batu Ferringhi, Penang Malaysia. We enrolled Daniel into School our second week there and also saw the Black Panther movie. Unfortunately, Tenaj had a scooter accident, so we made a visit to Gleneagles Hospital for a follow-up. We also go scooter shopping and buy two scooters, no more renting! We also take you shpopping to Tesco and Daniel gets a new pair of glasses. We finally end our 3 weeks in Penang bringing Daniel to a clinic, which was quick and inexpensive.

you need to start wearing jacket back to front. lol....
That's actually dangerous if the jacket clipped something or other vehicles. You might get clipped, fall and rolled under the wheels of other vehicles. Even though it is a norm to see people wearing jackets that way, do not follow and do that.

I used to get that bug rash when I was in Penang years ago...you might want to avoid being near to and let alone touching a tomcat bug when you notice one...they crawl and some even fly....it is a toxic bug that is very popular in Penang and Kedah....they often spray the toxic when people are near..the rashes often leave a terrible scar on a skin that takes years to dissapear and could cause a fever....wash with lots of water on the contact area if you happen to touch one...
Syed Chain wow, thanks for the heads up. We had to google more info on the Tomcat bug. Now we’re apprehensive about smashing any ant like bugs we come in contact with. We read that once you smash them they release a toxin similar to a cobra. Very harmful.

I think the bug is called "charlie", do google it, commonly nearby rice paddy field. Pls don't puncture those blisters otherwise it will spread. The best is to put toothpaste as it will sooth it. Btw, stay safe n enjoy!.

Insect bite is a thing here in Malaysia. that's why please have insect repellent on the go or insect repellent in a can or electrics kind for your home... Enjoy your stay here in Malaysia..

Already done. if you guys have more time, do check out our east coast states. they have a lot of beautiful beaches like Perhentian Island, Tioman island and our Borneo states like Sabah and Sarawak.

I have to get to Malaysia some time in the next year! Two things. I’m so curious about the medical system there. Is it considered universal healthcare? Is that why it’s so cheap?

Renata Hilson you should definitely visit soon. I believe the healthcare here operates on a two tier system having both universal and co-existing private healthcare.

Glad to tell you, Healthcare here is number 1 worldwide because of the cost and armenities. If u r Malaysian, u only pay RM1.00 (usd0.38) per visit include the medicine. Btw, hopefully u r enjoys here. :) no more accident ya.

@@TenajTino back in the 80s, I lived in Korea for a few years and did my visa runs to Japan, Taiwan, Philippines. now retired and I've always wanted to go back. Have to break up with my girl though. But I need to do something different, I've contacted some people who do volunteer work in VN, Laos, Cambodia and Philippines in the villages that dont have much medical access. So, I'll do that also part time. I did it when I was in Korea too. nobody could believe I spoke Korean, and it would take them a minute to realize we were both talking in Korean, then they would laugh like crazy. I learned a lot of my pronunciation from the kids, they were so eager to help me. I'll never forget it.....

That bug name charlie, google it charlie bug malaysia, it a common bug around malaysia especially around paddy field because the bug love humidity. Its not dangerous, it just leave scar on area affected.

Vincent Chin you sure did. However, keep in mind that my visit to the hospital was only a check up. I figured we didn’t get a bill because the ortho doctor didn’t have to run any test (X-ray, ultrasound)

Vincent Chin lol health care is expensive in the US.. Even if you use ambulance prepare a few hundred bucks to thousands cause they charge the patient per km if I'm not mistake
In malaysia public hospitals u only pay RM1 only (usd0.40 cents) . If hospitalised maybe extra charge. Healthcare is free. Proud to be Malaysian
My sister had orthopedic treatment in Malaysia, it was a lot cheaper and great hospitality. I remembered there's a doc who cooked a vegan fried rice for her lol feels nice.
