- In today's video Greeno, Mrs Greeno and Little'un head down to Cornwall.
We're visiting the Eden Project, and need a lunch. The restaurant has some great vegetarian and vegan options, so we give them a try.
But can meat-free munching be both healthy AND tasty ?

Hey folks - hope you all had a great weekend! Let me know what you thought of the food we ordered - is it something you'd try ??
And have you ever been to the Eden Project ? It's a really interesting day out !!
All of that looked excellent to be fair, Eden Project are meant to be opening up in Morecambe at some point. It'll bring a lot of tourism/jobs to the area. The cheesy pasta must've tasted great. Little'un didn't look impressed by that poppadom lol. Another great video Greeno.
I'll try anything once but I'd still be hungry after what you had.
@@robsmith6281 ha ha, it was actually enough to date my appetite during the day... Although I didn't need much arm twisting when Little'un wanted a Dominos later on ha ha!
@@ianmurphy9955 that'll be a great addition to the North West! Little'un didn't leave a scrap of that pasta 🤣
So refreshing to watch a channel that isn't just about chasing the views or £££ signs and with someone who actually builds up a rapport with subs.
That’s very kind of you to say so! I’d rather have an authentic channel than just try to lure people in with a load of clickbait! Build a nice community and if the subs and £ come from that then I won’t say no, but it’s not the be all and end all 🙂
Top video Greeno! I thought the food looked ok, the salad would have been the one I would have chosen I think. Looking forward to the other videos this week also ….Smithy
Cheers Smithy. I was pleasantly surprised by the food, and the salad was even more surprisingly the star of the show!
Looking forward to the Rick Stein video this week Greeno
Blimey he’s brave lol
Gar, Jason in Dublin here. Did you get my email address I sent you?
Hi Gary how's the ankle now?
Yep, coming up Friday Gary... The big question, did I order the scampi 🤣
Ha ha, got to give it a go!
Greeno,so close to 5000 whoohoo 😊 Cornwall is on my bucket list. Veggie Curry would have been my choice, too 😊
Yep, making good progress with the channel now :-) Cornwall is great (but I still think Dorset is better ha ha!). They had really tasty options in that cafe, proving that vegetarian and vegan food can indeed be interesting!
I shall relish (😆) this as I'm a Vegetarian /sometimes Vegan. I'll comment later ! We really enjoyed the Eden project, it filled a day for us....not just the plants, there is so much else to see & learn - hope you enjoyed being there.
It was a fab day out, even Little’un enjoyed it!
@@GreenoEats Great stuff 👍
The food looked lovely. Nice to see a food reviewer ordering and eating veggie food.
This all looked very palatable and healthy but being an omnivore I can't deny myself the indulgence and inclusion of meat , it's all about a balanced diet.
Good prices for deep south and I'm sure well worthy of a visit 👍
The balance came later in the day when I didn’t need much arm twisting when Little’un was angling for a Dominos!
@@GreenoEats 🤣
The food looked lovely and a good day out to boot!
Absolutely, we had a great day out 🙂
That looks great! I would be happy eating those foods esp Thai dish.
They were all delicious, and well priced I think!
I am not a vegetarian, but that all looked really nice. The colours of the salad were great, and the pasta with the garlic bread looked tasty. I love curry as well, so I also would be disappointed by it not being hot enough. Poor popadum, a spice one would have been nice, but overall, it looked pretty good. Thank you again for another great video.
Thanks for the kind words! I am far from a vegetarian myself, but I do believe that they are probably health and environmental benefits of introducing a little more plant based stuff and a little less meat and dairy into my diet. If it's as tasty as that salad was then I would have no problem in doing so 🙂
@@GreenoEats Yes, I agree, I rarely eat red meat, but I am addicted to chicken😆. I doubt I would be able to give that up, but the salad looked great, it's giving me some ideas to make salad a little more interesting. That looked like a lovely place as well.
I'm definitely not a Veggie, but I have to say that food was well presented and everything looked very tasty. I would have no complaints if I was served that.
Absolutely, not something I would necessarily order normally, but certainly wasn’t disappointed, especially with that salad (which is something I should probably eat more of ha ha!)
Interesting video mate, great to see you're open minded about vegan/vegetarian food just like I am and as I always say, you don't know until you try.
I'll never be convinced to become a veggie or vegan, but it's good to get a bit of it into your diet, for health and environmental reasons I guess!!
@@GreenoEats same, I'll never become vegan/vegetarian but I like to eat some of it if only for a bit of variety 😊
Great review Greeno, I'm going to the Eden project on Wednesday, The food looked great and very reasonably priced with it being a tourist attraction!
It was really tasty, well priced and surprisingly filling too. I hope you enjoy your trip!!
@@GreenoEats Cheers!
The salad looked lovely
It was so pretty, almost seemed a shame to eat it!
That food looks right up my street and good value 😊
I am by no means a vegetarian or vegan, but I have to say I really enjoyed th food at the Eden Project, especially the salad !
Well I have never been to the Eden Project. It looks very, very busy though. The salad looked really colourful and tasty. My brother lives in Wales and last year in July I visited him and my sister in law. My brother has been vegetarian for 25 years and my sister in law has been Vegan since she went to a Kibbutz when she was 18, 40 years ago!! Anyway they took me to Hay on Wye and we had the most beautiful, colourful, fresh, tasty salad ever. I should have taken a photograph of it to remind me what was on the plate. Sadly it has closed but that week Russell Brand was doing some sort of entertainment and the place was buzzing. Over the years I am more confident in making meals for my brother and sister in law. Thirty years ago it was a sad salad and olives and bread and nuts. Perhaps you could do a colourful salad on one of your videos. 👍
It was busy, but then it was during the school half term, I am sure outside of school hols it would be quieter. Certainly as the range of ingredients our store stock have increased it’s become easier to cater for veggies or vegans, and it doesn’t hurt to eat like that time to time.
All looked very nice and quite reasonably priced considering where you are.
Yes, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see an extra couple of quid on those prices… we were quite surprised by the overall quality too 🙂
I remember going and having a Cornish Pasty but it seemed rather dry and expensive- mind you no cheap food is available in a tourist trap like the Eden Project. The food you show kind of looked ok,edible but always with Vegan food i reckon i might have left a bit hungry.
I think the food was reasonably well priced, considering the captive audience they have, no meal costing more than a tenner. Plenty of carbs on the salad, so it was actually surprisingly filling too. Certainly as a lighter lunch option anyway.
That looks really nice that salad is a lot better than that ploughman's you had the other day that's what I called a salad. Fresh as well
Yeah, there was a really interesting variety of tastes and textures on the salad, it really was delicious!
@@GreenoEats it did look good fresh salad is amazing
That looked good pal but I'd have a meat option I need protein.
They had sausage and mash in this outlet, plus various others around the site offering pasties, pizzas etc with meaty options
8 of 10 my guess and hope that you still enjoyed.
Absolutely enjoyed!
I thought these dishes looked really good much better than a typical tourist attraction.....
I went there a v.long time ago now, 2002 and then the food was more basic, pasties, sandwiches....it looks like they have developed it a lot...
Rick Stein has certainly brought in a lot more custom to Padstow, and it's developed accordingly. Quite a bustling little place now. As I expressed, I thought both meals weren't bad, but could (and perhaps should in the case of Rick Stein) been better.
Lovely vid, Greeno! But I would not queue for 30 minutes to order what is essentially cow chow!
It was really busy, not much option but to queue!
Last time we tried , we gave up. So found we could get a coffee ok. No seating left. That was years ago now. Never been back.
We were there in half term, so naturally it was very busy. But when you have a hungry kid with you sometimes you have to suck it up and face the long queue for food!
I’m not a salad guy but I’d scoff that. Ic scoff everything except the curry. 👍
I think you can tell by my *ahem* bulk, salad is not always my first choice 🤣 But that one I would happily eat again 🙂
Well I’m 22 stone buddy and 61 yrs of age so you’re only a skinny niper! 🤣😂🤣
10 quid for a salad😅 Cornwall ripping holiday maker's off again
£67 for entry for 2 people when we went recently, luckily we got in for free with blue light card
@@shellvlogs132 67 quid! Wow, that's obscene. Judging by how many people were there it seems people have money to burn.
I reckon if you go to any tourist venue you’ll struggle to find meals for less than a tenner that have just been microwaved or deep fried. I think this was decent value myself.
It is expensive to get in, for the 3 of us it would have been £88, we were able to convert Tesco vouchers though to pay the entry.
They have a deal with Tesco Clubcard, we converted Tesco vouchers to pay our entry. Otherwise it would have been £88 for the 3 of us!
Garlic bread? garlic and bread?
Ha ha, classic that!
That's more like real food. As much as you tried, you cannot live on sausage rolls, can you?
All about balance I guess. I have to say that salad was one of the tastiest plates of food I have had in a while!
How angry was the bloke sat behind you?!!! Clearly his missus has forced him into having some "family time" instead of his usual day in the pub with the lads...!
Well we’ve all had days like that mate 🤣
Have been to The Eden Project ..... fascinating but food was, at best, poor
I've tried to get excited about this meal but I can't. The macaroni cheese looked good (easy to make) and it would have been nice to put it with something, but I don't think that was possible. The salad stuff, sorry, looked just absolute basics with virtually no cooking finesse. Curry didn't look exciting at all - and anaemic to boot.
Herein lies the problem ..... vegetarian / vegan places are closing left, right and centre - no wonder really because it's just boring
Sorry mate, great video, but I just couldn't eat this ..... unless they did a total Indian version, which undoubtable would be fantastic.
They had a veg balti on the menu, but Mrs Greeno prefers Thai curries 😉 I was of a similar opinion to yourself, that I expected it to be boring, but that salad really wasn't. Lots of interesting flavours, it really was a tasty plate of food!
Puts me off going if they don’t have proper food … did they not have meat options
They did, even in this part they had sausage and mash, various other food outlets around the site selling pasties, pizza, pasta of all kinds
Have you had a growler
What's a growler ?
@@GreenoEats pork pie
Yorkshire slang
@@craiggough3272 ah ok, I do love a pork pie!
All I will say is where's the meat? If you came expecting Vegan fare, all to the good. But i would have expected at least one meat option.
I know that vegetarian food can be tasty, but I would choose meat over veggies any day of the week.
There was a sausage and mash option in the restaurant, and all of the different food places around had meat options in pasties, pizzas, pastas etc. But in a place focused on plants we thought it interesting to try the plant options, and have to say didn’t miss the meat in the dishes at all.
Who needs veggies when meat tastes way better????
Well yes, I am not ever likely to become a veggie or vegan, but at least this proves that once in a while having something vegan doesn’t have to be boring or disappointing, it was tasty!
Really interesting, The Eden Project. Not really interested in vegan food because it has no "personality" to it.
It was an interesting day out certainly. We enjoyed the food, clearly some effort had been out in to extracting as much flavour as possible from the veggies!
What a boring vid.
Sorry, you didn't enjoy it, hopefully you'll find something you like better on the channel or elsewhere 🙂
Looks really tasty, be even better with a nice piece of chicken or beef.......
Ha ha, hard to argue with that 🤣
