      It's not really a "performance" there being no audience. Plus it's just Joe being Joe which usually leaves me flat, notwithstanding his technical brilliance.

      Everyone has their opinions, I enjoy a lot of his earlier work. But no doubt it was a change in the right direction. Struggling to get by and dropped from Sony > to the Best selling blues behemoth he is today. You don’t get packed crowds and sell tonnes of records with bad music.
      But I think the fact his sound has changed so much keep it’s incredibly fresh. Blues rock, to paying homage to traditional blues and everything in between. I truly think the golden period was TBOJH > BOD and everything in between. However, his latest release, Time Clocks is honestly some of the best work he has released to date.
      Kevin Shirley has done a fantastic job producing all the records.
      To end the point though, when you’re touring 300 days a year, you have to change it up to avoid burnout.

      I saw him live when I had no idea who he was in the early 2000's. The ticket cost $12 at my local club. He kept me glued to my seat the whole time and I've been a fan ever since. Maybe he's just not your cup of tea? Who do you consider to be a guitar god? I'm pretty sure I could find similarities in their playing style from song to song as well.

    • @thumplife792
      @thumplife792 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This isn't a "feeling" song. Have you heard anything else from him? Saying he has no feeling is laughable when players like BB King praised the feeling in his playing. But, I'm sure you know more about blues feeling than BB, so maybe he was wrong.

    Alwys felt yuck about banamasa
    He's always playing 300000$ guitars and never feels relatable
    Meanwhile John mayer plays a signature that's 2k$ prs and has a SE model, he and his music feels more grounded and relatable
    Joe just seems.. not humble enough or relatable
    Keep chasing vintage guitars bro, nobody relates to that anymore

    • @MelodicDreamers
      @MelodicDreamers 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wow, what a response. So if someone plays expensive gear then they are unrelatable? Really? I guess Clapton, Landau, Ford, EJ and many others suck too. All I can say then is Don't listen to classics. Also, why does Joe not seem humble? Is it because he is putting on a show? No offense to Mayer, but he called himself an ego-maniac. Joe seems to love this stuff and seems really humble in every interview. If I were guessing both Mayer and Bonamassa would enjoy hanging out and playing together. It's usually fans that are petty.
