That short line "It´s just a shower" .. Just realised that you can basically apply this mentality to any change you want to do, wanna start jogging? its just 30 minutes of your time walking faster, wanna exercising? its just movement, and maybe this way things like these do not seem that difficult or lacking motivation anymore :D

I did 90 days of cold showers to train my mental toughness and here's what was my experience:
    1. This NEVER gets easy. Every time I got in the shower it stressed me out.
    2. It is much harder to complete a full cold shower when I am tired, stressed, or overall motivation is lower for some reason.
    3. After day 60 I started recognizing the feeling much more "deeply" inside me. That allowed me to observe better my reactions and to train my mind to react in a way that I want, not that it tells me it wants.
    4. I definitely felt a surge in motivation and self-esteem. Daily tedious tasks are much easier to complete. I use this additional awareness to mentally "slap" myself before finding excuses.
    5. Funny thing - I started missing the cold water after the 90 days. Now, every once in a while I still take cold showers. I started loving it... Wasn't expecting that to be honest.

Was inspired to take cold showers for 90 days and now it's become a lifestyle. 3 main benefits i've learned:
    1. I get an instant energy boost and feel great throughout the morning. my body regulates to the temperature of the room and I feel more relaxed.
    2. I expand my comfort zone making obstacles throughout the day easier to overcome. This is essential to self actualizing and fulfilling your potential in life.
    3. I now have a new "friendly" relationship with the cold.. cold outdoor temperatures that used to bother me is now comfortable for me. I see it as a way to continue growing and expanding my comfort zone.
.. there are way more benefits I've heard of such as fat loss, reduced inflammation, more testosterone for men but I haven't done too much research into those. just these 3 benefits alone are enough reason for me to make this a lifestyle.
... I'll prob take Wim Hof's course in the near future. Has anyone on here gone through his course?

All I do before cold showers is start doing the deep breathing that emulates our natural reaction to the cold. I do that as I imagine the cold on me… so my body basically gets prepared and when I put the shower on it doesn’t shock my system as much. I stay aware of my breathing during the shower and then after the shower I continue the breathing all the way through the shivering and basically breath INTO the feeling and it feels INSANELY GOOD. And after several minutes I’ve breathed through the cold and warm up in no time. It’s gives you an extra little high! 🤙🏼

I love cold showers and have them twice a day, the benefits are as you say, like a natural cup of coffee and is the perfect start to a day. Your body adjusts after the initial shock and the cold shower actually feels warm on your body after a few seconds, you just have to get your body covered for it tonot feel uncomfortable. I'd never go back to hot showers now too. Love it.

So, yes! The water is cold. but no, not comparable to canada at all. There were times when i skipped morning bath cuz it's too cold (especially during rainy season. or if you live in mountainous areas, oooh that would be FREEZING cold) which is not a good thing cuz we in tropical countries tends to sweat a lot and creates smelly odor, so we have to take a shower every morning.

Good stuff! I’ve been enjoying cold showers for years. Finding comfort/understanding in discomfort is key for growth and longevity. Realizing the benefits greatly out weight the discomfort helps to enhance perspective. A trick I used when first starting, was actually holding my breath. Simply put, not being able to breathe, is far more challenging/critical than the cold. When you reach the extreme point of needing air, your mind shifts focus to this, instead of the cold. The first breath taken after the hold will naturally be a deep one, likely followed by a few more. This will create a deep breathing pattern which will carry you thru the rest of the shower! 👍👍

@@nathanieldrew Oh wow! Haha nice! Awesome! I think you'll really enjoy it because well even though it's a big lifestyle change, you could try to see how you feel! Just make sure you know how to do Intermittent Fasting the right way! Lol and the Ketogenic Diet the right way, remember that Healthy Ketosis involves 7-10 cups of vegetables every single day, you need 4,700 mg of Potassium every single day and your Potassium to Sodium ratio should be 4-1, also on Keto don't forget to eat enough healthy fats, and get in your electrolytes through your vegetables and healthy salts like a high quality sea salt, Pink Himalayan Salt, etc. And also don't forget to get YOUR REST! Make sure you get 8-9 hours of sleep although 7 isn't too bad either, but don't aim for the 10-11 hours of sleep that will stress your body because it confuses your internal clock system and your brain, thus stressing out your brain and body! Okay man good luck! I think I'll try it sooner or later 😏

I did this as well and found that it full on improved my ability to deal with natural climates. In other words, anything other than room temperature, which was important to me as I really enjoy camping but don't like shivering all that much. You are totally right, your perspective changes when you normalize the feeling. After taking frequent cold showers, camping in the snow felt more refreshing than painful. It was still cold af, but my mind was able to interpret it like a scoop of ice cream rather than a dive into an ice bath.

I've decided watching you in the shower for 30 days is how I will improve my life. So far, so good!

It's funny. cold showers are much longer for me as I take a lot more time to adjust to the temperature, and once I do I find that they are a lot more pleasant than warm showers and I want to stay in longer.

If you are enjoying it you are doing it wrong and probably not getting the benifit. Its also possible your cold water ia not cold, but tepid.

@@GDKLockout oh it's cold, and what a sad way to go through life. With the attitude that something can only be good for you if it is not enjoyable.

@@pnatgrendy i was referring to the reaction to your nervous system. Not a philosophy for life.
Having spent 25 years surfing in the North atlantic (do not insert "only") the shock of the cold is still uncomfortable. When its not we call it warm.

@@GDKLockout oh, the shock is uncomfortable. Initially getting in is a pain. But once I'm in, and every bit of my body has adapted, I love it. Its the getting in that's the hard part.
