Sara Bregaj why not. I’m trying to get in shape as I want a healthy body and healthy mind. I want to live a good long life and to do that a healthy body is important.
Cold shower is like we are doing very difficult things in our life, we feel butterflies in our stomachs, your mind says: "stop it man, this is very difficult for you", but if you keep going and go ahead and finish the challenge, your mind says, "Wow, I didn't think you were so strong" Stay hard.
8 days and going strong. Going in is the worst part of my day but the feeling afterwards is the best part of my day. That’s what keeps me coming back every day.
Ronald Casas i take a cold shower in the morning and a hot one at night. When I have to wash my hair I do it at night. I hope to be able to wash my hair under the cold water one day but I’m not ready yet! Haha
I have been taking cold showers for about 5 months now and I will say it has affected my mental strength GREATLY. It has pretty much erased the anxiety I used to struggle with daily and it's almost like I unlocked a new part of my brain that gives me the strength to handle situations I never thought I had the ability to. The first 5-10 seconds are still a pain to deal with but the shock is worth it and you always feel better after. I definitely recommend trying it if you struggle with anxiety.
It's actually called hyperventilation. When cold water hits you, that drastic change in tempreture causes you to go into panic mode. This results in heavy and rapid breathing, which could result in taking in too much oxygen, or fainting.
Swag 193 Hypothermia is when the body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature. It makes sense what he said, we’re not talking about hyperventilation.
@@pritish_khera it is pretty rough, but I don’t use too cold of water...made the mistake this morning to go with freezing cold water. It should be fine with cold weather though! Just gotta get in some warm comfy clothes after the shower
I’ve been taking cold showers for about a week now. Not gonna lie, they always suck. Honestly, if you had told me a month ago that I would even consider taking cold showers, I would have laughed in your face. But I get it now. It’s not about the cold showers. It’s about forcing myself to do things I don’t want to do. I want to be a better person but in order to grow, I’ve got to get used to putting myself in situations I don’t want to be in. As uncomfortable and ridiculous as it sounds, If I can’t force myself to do something as simple as take a cold shower, how can I expect myself to have the discipline to become the person I wanna be? It’s drastic but I wanna do it despite knowing I don’t have to.
aggsimalone I take lukewarm showers- cause we all know warm cleans better, but I finish off with a gradual(10 seconds) increase to cold on my hair and face. I’ve been doing it for 15 years and my skin has benefited from it for sure. I told my friend to do it and within two days his skin started clearing up, less bags on eyes on morning and much more benefits.
Cold showers are also better for water conservation. Because hot showers are so comfortable I end up wasting a little too much water. Love the vibes you send out Matt. They've helped me with my videos.
But yet, every summer, we jump in that cold pool. Starting with a hesitation, a flinch, but upon being in the cold pool for a few minutes, it feels good. We feel refreshed from the heat of the sun, and our body exerts heat from our heart rate rising from swimming. Then comes another, forgotten in the moment, flinch. Getting out of the pool, back into the heat, and only feeling the breeze that graces our skin raising goose bumps and shivers. Wild.
It has been happening like this for a long time. Even the stoics practiced "voluntary discomfort" in various ways, and this was over 2,000 years ago. Comfort is relative, but it's very real.
I'm usually not very interested in the "x days challenge" videos. But somehow I really enjoy watching yours. It's very interesting to know about your observations, struggles and reflections.
Chest is bigger then the existential void that everything I do in life goes towards. Slowly sucking away all my desires, till I’m left with a empty vessel only capable of, doing the basic human necessities.
Almost the same time i've been having!! Almost a year without a single hot bath and i'm loving it, sometimes it's f**king hard but I'm not giving up, i'll keep doing this till i can it's part of my life now, i'm not even like "oh shit it's the cold bath time" anymore, it's just bath (and i'm luck to live in Brazil in a very tropical weather state, so here's never thaat cold even with the winter currently going on...)
As a challenge I took cold showers for about 7 months. The most valuable thing I got from it was that I can do it, and not many CAN do it. Highly recommend it to those wanting to become more mentally tough.
You are mentally tough just for having an open mind, and listening to yourself without doubt that you are or aren’t doing something such as changing habits or taking cold water rather than hot. Not for the action, but for being able to clear your mind. Most people are bound in this illusion program they set up for themselves and always have agitated minds. Letting go is the greatest yet most challenging thing one can do. You have to literally let go of everything in your past to awaken into spirituality through the crown. ‘Let go of the persona you manifested and become the one who manifested the persona’. Get it?
Anyone can do it but most don't want to and won't do it. If someone can find a strong enough reason to do it then they will do it because anyone yes anyone can do it.
@@skywalker9770 thats usually what makes a strong mind. doing something you dont want to do. dont wanna work out? force yourself to workout. dont wanna take a cold shower? take a cold shower. people have been too accustomed in staying in there comfort zone. I too love staying in my comfort zone, but i know its bad for me.
That may be due to vasoconstriction, where your blood vessels constrict as a response to being exposed to fairly low temperatures. The parts you feel coldest are probably the ones that haven't had this fully applied. I am no medical professional and I am just guessing
@@Degaliuss I think it has to do with the way the water hits your skin while showering. Maybe it kinda numbs that part of your body. I say this because I feel the water gets "warm" when I shower and stay in the same position for a little bit but this doesn't happen when I get into a swiming pool with cold water for example.
When you mentioned "this is the least enjoyable moment of my day" it made me think about one of the best benefits of cold showers. By doing that uncomfortable thing 1st thing in the morning, you get a hard part of the day done, which leaves you feeling more confident for the rest of the day.
My first 2 cold showers were TERRIBLE but during my 3rd shower, I realized something. There’s a state of mind that you have to enter and lock on to when you hop in the freezing shower. It’s basically ignoring any and every thought/feeling of panic that pops up in your mind while you’re in the shower (thoughts like “damn this is cold!”). I learned to become unemotional like a rock and pay the water no mind and the showers became super easy. After that moment of realization, I thought “Let me start using the rock state of mind (that I use in cold showers) in my day to day life” and ever since then, I’ve been wayyy calmer and not so emotional. Act like a rock! 🪨
I start warm and slowly go to cold, did the first time today. Might try beginning with cold sometime! edit: sometimes I go all cold, but most is 80% hot and then I finish with cold! when I turn off the shower and do a 2min meditation, it's pretty good =)
I use hot water...but sometimes mom won't allow to boil water (boil cuz the water heater broke)...so I bath in cold water and its actually okay...maybe I will start again...and I actually go straight into cold water...cuz 2nd way u can feel anxious or something b4 the water hits each part of the body so I just go straight in and let the water hit all at once so I won't be anxious for each part
I was gonna say, this this this this. I’ve consistently done cold showers since high school (I’m about to graduate college now). The flinch will always be there, the first ten-fifteen seconds will always be painful. Has it changed my life? I mean, I’ve been doing it for four years. I don’t think my personality changed much since high school. Still that awkward kid that turns annoying once you get to know him. Sometimes I’m productive, but other times I’m still lazy. I’ve done some interesting things though, like asking a straight guy out and getting flat out rejected, or taking two classes at an Ivy League school that was adjacent to mine. I’ve also texted people some really mean things when I felt angry at them. Those didn’t end well. Did I become more impulsive? What was I getting at? Oh, the cold showers thing. Nah, not too life changing. I guess my skin and hair look better, although I wouldn’t be able to tell. Idk, it makes the rest of the day feel better when you start off being extremely physically uncomfortable. Everything also feels warm after you leave it, which honestly feels great, too. I’ll let you know when I become president or something after doing these for another four years, lol.
jjsdl really enjoyed this more realistic response lol I highly doubt these supposed theories of “discomfort exposure,” on trivial things like cold showers. Ironically, if the person that starts taking cold showers also believes they have a limited willpower reserve, this action will probably add onto resistance to follow through with other habits they’re trying to ingrain throughout their day. I think if one were to make themselves uncomfortable, you’re better just waking up early and going for a run. Much more evidence on aerobic exercise and brain health.
jjsdl maybe its about the mindset. Every time i got out of the shower i felt fresh and like I’ve had the strength to get out of my comfort zone once again. Everything can be impacted positive on your brain if you define it like that. For the last 3 months I’ve never felt better in my life. It completely changed my perspective on things. Like i would be more productive with things and dodge procrastination as much as possible. If you are a reader and trying to decide if cold showers are really for you just do it. There is nothing to lose and always something to gain from doing something different.
Sometimes I make myself very excited or motivated to take cold showers and so I don't feel any discomfort (the adrenaline probably helps quite a bit), but on the days that I feel very unmotivated, I still have to concentrate on my breathing and after like 10 seconds, the shock goes away. I usually do it in around 40 Fahrenheit and my head starts hurting when I wash my shampoo off.
I tried this at 6:30am and it was a lot more dramatic than this guy, I was jumping around, tap dancing, I will stick with a medium shower, still wakes me up but doesn’t turn me into a drama Queen
@@samuel22368 I was doing cold showers about 2 months ago, it lasted for 3 weeks and towards the end I could shower normally without shivering or shaking, I stopped doing it because a warm shower is relaxing before work, I wake up 45 min extra just to stand in the shower, once I get home from work the only thing I enjoy is eating dinner and sleeping idk why I typed all this I’m high
SAAAAAME i always take a hot shower before going to school and i want to try it out but i live in the uk so my body gets cold after a really hot shower soo a cold shower wouldn't be the best idea
Ha, caught this 41 seconds after upload. Just wanna say dude, your video on getting up early had a HUGE impact on my life. Been getting up at 5.15 consistently now for a few months.
So at 4:42 I dared to pause and went straight under the shower like Matt suggested. I never swore at anyone the way I swore at Matt in the first 30 seconds under the freezing water. I called him things I didn't even think were in my vocabulary before the water temperature felt bearable haha. Now I feel so energetic and refreshed and really proud I did it. Thx Matt!
Your comparison between the cold showers and life is making me feel like something so small, taking the cold shower, can have a tremendous impact on my life as a whole. You take something so simple and relate it to other much more meaningful things and for that, I love your videos. Ps: "The Flinch" is totally real. It's that anxiety that is built inside of us as humans that arises when difficulty arises, but pushing through it can make anyone stronger. The cold shower is a beautiful example of this.
I just did this and felt AMAZING! I also thought I was hallucinating when it felt warmer. Some thing else I loved about it? The fact that it kept me absolutely present in the moment instead of worrying about the past or thinking about what I had to do for the day. Talk about being here now!💙
This is bringing back memories of having to take cold showers after swim practice before school, not because we wanted to, but because we had no hot water.
For me it brought back memories of growing up & the shower going cold midway through because someone in the house was also using hot water. Then you'd yell as loud as you could "DON'T USE THE WATER". It was great. We didn't have a lot of hot water.
I've been taking exclusively cold showers for something like 2.5 years. I like the warm tingling sensation when I leave the shower. I like that I am groggy up until the water hits me, then I gasp and it feels like I am suddenly infused with life. I like that starting my morning this way makes me approach my work day like a warrior going to battle.

I know the cold water has many perks. He can be better for skin and hair. It can wake you up in the morning. Some people say it changes your mood and makes you feel overall happier. But hey i just heard all this from people who do it. Not scientifically proven from what i know.
@@ImComix it kinda shock your body to working state , and that kinda it , since I'm having cold shower 99.99% of the time i didn't notice anything anymore .
Just took a cold shower at the shower intermission. One benefit I noticed is that LITERALLY EVERYTHING is warmer once you’re out of the shower. The opposite holds true when you take hot showers. Food for thought 💭 Thanks for the solid content Matt. 🧼
You're right about that, once you develop a habit, cold showers will make you feel all too warm and fuzzy, unlike hot showers, but I've got the flinch! I feel like I'll catch a cold.
You know what's crazy? Is that I have taken many cold showers for a long time, but recently I took 3 cold showers 2 in one day and then the third the next morning to help with stress, nervousness, and anxiety, and even though it did help with anxiety by making you not care anymore about things that used to annoy you which is good, but at the same time I noticed that I didn't care to do things like work hard on a paper or study, or do something like that, maybe the cold showers were starting to become a little too stressful for me and maybe I was taking them for too long, who knows, I am a great advocate of Cold Showers, but this is the first time I have ever felt that way, and only after taking 3 cold showers, before I didn't have those symptoms, I think I'll try again but make the time less, maybe I wasn't caring to do those things because they felt hard, maybe because of the stress of the cold shower too often, what do you guys think?
That's why I like to end my showers cold. :) It's actually very enjoyable to go from hot to cold and then when you leave the shower you are all warm and toasty.
As a person who has taken cold shower for almost my entire life there are a few things to remember. If you have a heart condition and you have never taken a cold shower dont directly jump into it like Matt suggest. It may look "cowardly" but you can have a heart attack and I am not joking. Your body will go to a thermal shock something that ppl experience even when the move from Air conditioned rooms to outdoors. The easiest way to do it is pouring water on your feet. Your feet is sort of a temperature regulator of your body once your body accepts it's cold water you can gradually take it up from there knees.. hands... Arms.. elbows.. shoulders and then torso. Trust me that the easiest way and not cowardly at all.
When I was in senior year in high school a girl from my generation died because she had a condition (not sure if cardiac or respiratory) and took a cold shower.
That's a good point. I couldn't find anything definite online about heart attacks & cold showers but I'd rather be safe (just put a disclaimer in the description). And I was just joking about the coward thing :)
@@mattdavella thanks for adding the warning! We know you have a good sense of humor but people sometimes have bad sense of judgement. Better safe than sorry. 👍
Took my first cold shower after watching this. Here are the results 15 minutes later: - I am still shivering - my nipples can cut diamonds - my balls have yet to descend from the inside of my body Thank you Matt 😂
Been taking cold showers for almost three months, it’s helped me to do something that I’ve always wanted to do and that is to walk into the cold Atlantic sea for a swim without any huffing and puffing. I now do this on a regular basis and I love it!!! Still cold showering too.
@Kathryn Mercier Right but your body adapts like you said and produces more. Also, everyone should be getting sufficient exercise. If you don't have to shower, you didn't work. (Or you like staying dirty either way). The only reason your comment has upvote is because you handed the lazy people an excuse and enabled them.
When you live in a hot city, a shower is mandatory or else you go to bed all sweaty and greasy, not comfortable at all. I actually don't know many people who don't shower every day, we almost all do!
You got that right, respect your honesty too. Seems like everything is a new find in 2019. Most of the trendy stuff, has been around forever. Us dinosaurs and others know that!
Totally agree man! These millenials are just fucking batshit stupid. It's all exciting and very easy to do something knowing you have options (the hot water tap), but the true test is adapting to a situation where that easy option doesn't exist and you are forced to accept it.
What would be the point? He'd probably get MORE clicks by trashing cold showers since he'd be going against the trend and pepper love to look for naysayers on TH-cam!

Brooke B Hot showers, especially for long periods of time, are proven to be unhealthy since they dry out your skin and take away healthy bacteria. It can even weaken your immune system.
Why do I take cold showers? That's an interesting question and one I'd love to have a clear answer for. I don't know why I put myself through all of this, and trust me - I'm asking myself this question every time I'm about to do it. But logic is not why I do it. I can't logically justify this action of submerging myself in freezing cold water every single day, day by day. All I know is that the minute cold water hits my body the whole world goes quiet. There's nothing but me and water. Just a cold symphony of hateful water hitting my body in hopes taking control over me - and me trying to accept it. Be comfortable with it. It's a dance. Often I find myself laughing without a reason -- I guess that's just my unconcious way of trying to release the pain. See, all of my inner thoughts dissapear, and I feel nothing but the cold water. All that's going through my mind is "breath". Funnily enough, I feel this way even before I turn on the water. My heart's racing and I'm trying to find a way to justify not taking a cold shower. Maybe it has no benefits at all right? Or maybe life's too short and we shouldn't do things we don't enjoy, let there be warm showers. Right? I say no to these thoughts. Stupid thoughts that always make sense when you're scare... when you're trying to find an easy way out! Now step in the shower, turn it on and let the 5 minute journey begin. So let's say you did it. You said fuck you cold water, you can't possibly hurt me. I've been through worse. You feel like a fucking hero. Not only did you beat the cold water today, but you will do it tomorrow, and the day after that for the next couple of months. It won't become a habit that easily, don't get me wrong. But each day you will be stronger and stronger... stronger than the scary cold water you've been so afraid of. Soon you'll realize it's not about the cold showers at all. It never was. It's about taking action -- doing something you're afraid of every single day, day by day. It scares you? Good, now do it. Next time it won't be as scary and -- if you keep taking cold showers -- that business idea you had won't sound as stupid anymore. Try it. That cute girl you noticed on the street won't look like she's out to get you. Go get her. You've been through worse. I'm not saying your life will change in a week, nor will your health improve in a major way -- it probably won't. Your mindset will. You will start noticing the good things. The small things that makes us who we are. The small things you might miss if it wasn't for the cold showers...
i took cold showers cuz when i was in my home country there'd be no warm water and id just endure it. it isnt as hard as people really react it to be. It stings but it gets fine after
AWESOME. Love the entire concept of preparing yourself for the flinch in the real world. This reminded me of the Stoic philosophy of the obstacle being the way. There is so much reward in doing difficult things, rather than always looking for an easier way. Changes your entire outlook on life. Makes you tougher and more compassionate at the same time. I have survived and even thrived overseas in really difficult situations because I knew how to get my mind in the right place. You are a great example to others.
Ok, I just tried it. Turned on the cold AF water, jumped under it, my muscles tensed up, now my neck feels like it has been fused with bricks... Felt nice afterwards though, except you know, my neck.
The 'cowards way' still makes you stronger and provides the same benefits. Start hot then instead of easing in just switch to straight coldest setting. Its easier and hot showers have their own benefits as well especially when if you workout regularly. Best of both worlds and you only need to stay in that cold for 15-20 seconds.
Two things! I highly recommend getting Julien Smith’s book The Flinch: amazon.com/Flinch-Julien-Smith-ebook/dp/B00NLJHGOA Also have you seen Yes Theory’s recent film with Wim Hof? It’s amazing & you should watch it: th-cam.com/video/8cvhwquPqJ0/w-d-xo.html
I recently started taking ice cold showers as well. I dont take a warm one and then turn it to cold, i get in the shower and immediately turn it on as cold as it goes. It is amazing. The first 10 seconds suck but you push through it and then it is overwhelming awesome. The benefits ive seen are: it wakes me up immediately, heart rate drops significantly after the initial cold blast and “resets” your thought process (you’re body is only focused on survival when you’re under freezing cold water, so anything you were stressed about immediately goes away and gives you a clear head), gives you SO MUCH fucking energy in the morning and oh my god the warm feeling you get when you get out and the blood starts going back to your limbs is like a high. I recommend everyone to start taking them, its hell for 10-15 seconds but I guarantee you will be laughing like a maniac and smiling right after you get out. My skin has also never felt so smooth either and even on the first cold shower i took it immediately got rid of the dry skin on my face
My personal strat for cold showers is to let the cold water hit my feet legs and lower body for a few seconds then put my head and body under, works every time
@@Etrehumain123 Matt like the drama…he says #2 is to start with the head and then go to the rest of the body (also coward) but the back is the worst part because we have so many nerves there. I think starting at the feet would be easier. And who cares if someone thinks you’re a coward?😂 go for it!
It most definitely does not only last a second "the flinch and relax"! It takes me 2 solid minutes to relax into it... I've been taking cold showers for 4 months for 3 minutes a day. It really is a great help for depression and anxiety, I suffer with BPD and find it a great help 👍
I've been taking cold showers for a solid year now since i started my fitness journey and i've felt soo much improvement over the time, i definitely noticed i can endure winters alot better and it's improved me mentally and physically as well.

aggsimalone I take lukewarm showers- cause we all know warm cleans better, but I finish off with a gradual(10 seconds) increase to cold on my hair and face. I’ve been doing it for 15 years and my skin has benefited from it for sure. I told my friend to do it and within two days his skin started clearing up, less bags on eyes on morning and much more benefits.
no way?!
Ong?
Huh so your acne is gone...I’m gonna try that because I have acne too in the shoulders
Cold showers are also better for water conservation. Because hot showers are so comfortable I end up wasting a little too much water.

Wild.

You don't get ill? Lucky 😂
Get it?
After a while you get use to it and it's no longer a challenge.
I have found that sometimes the water gets “warm” at times but when water hits another part of my body it’s cold again
Yeah I feel this specially on the chest.
@@reymagnusneeto5207 It definitely isn't only due to numbness

I like your thinking, (the rock) it saves a lot of stressing. I am two days into the cold showers to try and make me sleep better.

As someone who has done this for just over 14 months everyday, I can attest that neither the flinch, nor the discomfort will disappear.
thank you. how cold water do u use iw ant to do this and i only use the cold shower part but jesus christ its so cold
I’ll let you know when I become president or something after doing these for another four years, lol.
jjsdl really enjoyed this more realistic response lol
I highly doubt these supposed theories of “discomfort exposure,” on trivial things like cold showers.
The best thing about cold showers is that you come out refreshed and minty cool. It is a good feeling. :)

Thanks for the solid content Matt. 🧼
You're right about that, once you develop a habit, cold showers will make you feel all too warm and fuzzy, unlike hot showers, but I've got the flinch! I feel like I'll catch a cold.
Makes you think about other things that might work like that. Temporary, quick comfort while sacrificing a more lasting comfort.
No cuz I only take cold water kid
There should be a health warning included in the description. Or, re-post in ALL CAPS! This is serious.
When I was in senior year in high school a girl from my generation died because she had a condition (not sure if cardiac or respiratory) and took a cold shower.

@@cyphvirtu how cold would the water have to be to be unhealthy?
Why do I take cold showers? That's an interesting question and one I'd love to have a clear answer for. I don't know why I put myself through all of this, and trust me - I'm asking myself this question
every time I'm about to do it.
But logic is not why I do it. I can't logically justify this action of submerging myself in freezing cold water every single day, day by day.
All I know is that the minute cold water hits my body the whole world goes quiet.
There's nothing but
me and water.
Funnily enough, I feel
this way even before I turn on the water.
Not only did you beat the cold water today, but you will do it
tomorrow, and the day after that for the next couple of months. It won't become a habit that easily, don't get me wrong. But each day you will be stronger and stronger... stronger than the scary cold water you've
been so afraid of.
Soon you'll realize it's not about the cold showers at all. It never was.
It's about taking action -- doing something you're afraid of every single day, day by day. It scares you? Good, now do it. Next time it won't be as scary and -- if you keep
taking cold showers -- that business idea you had won't sound as stupid anymore.

You just sparked something in my mind
Imma Start doing this

Alright, where's the steam then?
Would be such a surprise
@@cristiancorjan4587 warm water wouldn't create steam

Ok, I just tried it. Turned on the cold AF water, jumped under it, my muscles tensed up, now my neck feels like it has been fused with bricks... Felt nice afterwards though, except you know, my neck.
When showering cold one should try to relax and breath calmly.
@@jimihenrik11 Yeah ez pz lemon squeezy
Dennisbaily why did you make the water that cold?
Dennisbaily 😂 a flinch hurt your neck Bro, you need more than a cold shower to help
I thought for a second you will be spending 30 days in a cold shower
Brain haha same

Me too
Only for a second
Your username is brain so it’s kinda ironic😂😂 not hate tho because I thought the same thing for a second
I took hot showers for 30 days
Brave 😂
Stunning
Scorching hot!
Hot showers are SO cold right now!
Are cold showers good if you workout?
@@benaw4603 THEYRE the best showers if you workout. All athletes take ice baths after games and workouts

Hot showers are better for recovery
One of the best “30 day challenge” videos I’ve seen. Threaded the science and info into your own personal story. Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Two things! I highly recommend getting Julien Smith’s book The Flinch: amazon.com/Flinch-Julien-Smith-ebook/dp/B00NLJHGOA
Also have you seen Yes Theory’s recent film with Wim Hof? It’s amazing & you should watch it: th-cam.com/video/8cvhwquPqJ0/w-d-xo.html
Matt D'Avella you da best man
Keep up the good work
I HAVE TO TRY ONE MONTH 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Bet I’m gonna get this book :)
Great film by yes theory! 👍🏼 Looking forward to this trend toward longer form content!
Would love to see more of such 30 day challenge
TwoBarBills same its super fucking great
Ok

My personal strat for cold showers is to let the cold water hit my feet legs and lower body for a few seconds then put my head and body under, works every time
Works better to submit to the cold slowly rather than rush into it. That’s the idea you’re referring to right?
But he said that's the coward way
@@Etrehumain123 Matt like the drama…he says #2 is to start with the head and then go to the rest of the body (also coward) but the back is the worst part because we have so many nerves there.
I think starting at the feet would be easier. And who cares if someone thinks you’re a coward?😂 go for it!

I've heard that those biceps aren't minimalistic.
Would be awesome!
It most definitely does not only last a second "the flinch and relax"! It takes me 2 solid minutes to relax into it... I've been taking cold showers for 4 months for 3 minutes a day.
It really is a great help for depression and anxiety, I suffer with BPD and find it a great help 👍

@Elena P. Everyday i take strict cold showers, even after work and before the gym i'll usually take a cold shower and head out.

Joel Coll don’t get it, cold showers are the future
Exactly
It's February...he chose 28 days instead.

*Who else could barely breathe in the cold shower?*
The Offical Mega Oof I think that’s a panic attack
Yup
Cold showers instantly slow your body down. Including breathing so its not a surprise. XD
It could be because your shower is enclosed.
