Good advice Mike. Art from Ohio
I won't spend much time commenting on your work habits. But you really need to clean things up before disassembling any hydraulic system. One spec of dirt down those holes and your tractor can turn to scrap.
Love your videos!

Nice show! If I knew when it was, I would have went. There sure were a lot of garden tractors there I'd love to have!
The first 5 digits are the model, the other 5 digits are the serial. This is the 421st machine made.
Toro really only went by model/serial way back then. From what I could tell this is a early 60s model. Maybe a 62.
Sorry I missed this show lots of cool stuff I'll mark it down for next year thanks
I like older equipment it is so easy to work on them
The 432 was our first Gravely. Great machine
I got my 16G last week. Its got 367 hours on it. Mint condition paint. One owner. Never been in rain. I paid dearly for it. But it was a retirement present to myself. Im a little worried about parts for it thogh. Do you know where parts are available?
One of the old Tri-plex mowers!
Yes, nice collection. I wonder if that was used for golf courses, back in the day ?
there is a commercial of golf legend arnold palmer riding on one it could possibly be his
Maybe when he loses his toes he will wear shoes, steel toes in particular.😂
Great job bringing it back to life
Seeing you running power equipment with bare feet just makes me shiver.
You cold??
I remember when I was a youngster these being used to mow the golf course near my home.
reel mowers cut grass not like a rotary mower that chops and hacks it reel cutting is healthier for your lawn period had a California trimmer 20 high cut with Honda loved it then carpul tunnel set in but I'll always love reel mowers until I die would love to find one of these love it take great care of it
How about wearing shoes next time you do a video
It’s his video fool, he can wear whatever he wants to!
Nothing cuts like the old mowers. I would be using this to mow my lawn for sure.
My uncle rsn 1 of those as a maintenance man back in the 1960s at a apartment complex he worked for..
that is a nice collection of mowers in the background

nice tractor you should have the culter about a foot lower it will plow easer
Remember you have to buy a john deere brand carburetor and fuel pump and points if you want them to last them chinese ones won't last. It's pricey but it's worth it
@@deanfarr3249 actually unfortunately that's not true. The John Deere brand ones are made in China now too
Damn. I guess I should probably just have the original one on my 216 rebuilt then
@@deanfarr3249 yup, rebuilding them is easy
I had a gravely it almost looked like that but was the convertible and had the older style engine and transmission were all one unit and it had 2 heads for diff hp . Also I miss the magneto of the coil it had that clack sound at idle lol I ran it at 12 years old plowing snow and mowing yards

Mike, I have a 1968 Gravely 450 and the transmission has finally stopped working. Do you have any videos on the teardown and rebuild of a Swiftmatic 8 transmission. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
@@MillsGodwin-b7e I don't, I'm not gonna rebuild one bit I do have 1 I'm gonna take apart
Good job on the video. Many thanks. I have a shop manual and could not find the information on the tensioner for the mower drive belt. Seriously. It is on a memory stick but none of the key words would take me to that part. Spring, tension, adjust, none of them showed it to me, but your video made it clear what I was dealing with. I could see the spring but wasn't sure if I was going to have a disaster if I adjusted it. It is rusty. and I needed to release the tension so I could put the belt back on. Your video showed me it is a simple thing. Thanks. Over the last six years I have slowly acquired seven 200 series garden tractors so I need to know all the little tricks in order to get them serviceable.

My dad bought a 432 brand new in 1972 . That beast could mow some grsss. Then in 76 i think he got an 816s. After all that he got a tiller for them and front end mulcher. A sickle bar a plow and some kind of hole digger that mounted on the front end. Those tractors served us well. In about 2010 he sold out house and sold ALL the Gravely equipment for a thousand bucks. I was mad. I wanted that stuff i grew up with. But now i found a mint 8163 with under 400 hours. Its mint . It comes tomorrow

Hello I think you’re the right person to ask I am in need of a brush mower deck model 108 for a l8 gravely walk behind
@danielradcliff7081 I just sold this tractor. I think I have another brush hog but it's a different model
I bought one of these New back many years ago from left over inventory at out local city auction for $200. At that time it listed for $5500. I still have it along with quite a few attachments. I have put about a million hours on it and it has always been a beast. I highly recommend it and would gladly buy another one if mine ever burns to the ground or gets stolen. It just keeps on running and running.
Glad i found you. Im a huge fan of Gravely tractors. I grew 20:24 up with a 433 and 816s. And my first Gravely is coming Friday. Its a 8163 in mint condition. I hope to learn more about them from your channel
