I have a really nice 212 I bought recently that runs and drives great but it squeals for a second on startup. My guess is worn belts or non John Deere belts? I've read that the non John Deere belts don't have the correct v angle and/or aren't quite the right length.
@@mikestarcher Yeah that might be my dumb fault. Been starting it with the parking brake set, but theres still a little room to push the pedal down. All the safeties were bypassed when I bought it.
I'm thinking it's one of the belts It does it even with the clutch all the way in. I think if it were the engine making that terrible noise it wouldn't be running as great as it is.
Is this a actual tractor or riding mower? Im looking at a 1976 john deer 210 person is asking 1400 im not sure if thats a good deal or not. Im a women new to having to purchase a tractor. I have 10 acres to cut.
Sorry just seen this, didn’t know if u would be able to help me with mine? The guy who works with mine says it could be a wrist pin on piston or a valve is bent. Now he had my buy a motor which is incomplete so I told him to swap pieces from original to the one I got. Anyways he doesn’t have the time to do it as he’s always working. You seem very dependable with this type of work. If you would like to which is not a big deal if u can’t I would bring it to you and pick it up pay you accordingly and as long as you’re able to get it down within a month or 2 as that’s how long he’s had it I’ll be just fine
just bought a 210. We are gonna use it for a pulling tractor for my Son.

That's true. Try pressing the clutch while starting it next time

@@outspokengenius safeties bypassed is a good thing. They don't usually work very well

Where do you recommend for getting replacement parts?

Can you make a video on how to set the carb and adjust appropriately? That would be a big help for some viewers
I will try 2 get to it ya
@@mikestarcher thanks Mike 👍 I got a 1986 212 and I am going through it and want to fine tune it, get it running to its highest RPM, etc.
I just purchased a 1985 210 for $200, I need to get all the belts on it. So excited to find this jewel.
