Interesting to think about. My experience has been completely different, this is easily my favorite fighter in the game and probably my best-performing plane. The flight model makes me think about positioning more than the 29 or F-16 without being too deficient, and the amount of ordinance makes the plane extremely forgiving to use. As a platform for R-27ERs, I prefer the 29SMT, but from a pure performance perspective I just love the Su-27.
Not a different variant. In fact the F-15A is the lightest of the F-15s, and you won’t see a higher thrust F-15 until the F-15E which isn’t a dogfighter and is really heavy. To answer your question OP the F-15 most certainly cannot accelerate into Mach in a 90 degree vertical from takeoff, absolutely not. It’s rumored the F-22 might be able to but that’s just conjecture. This is because thrust decreases rapidly with altitude, and most jets don’t have a 1:1 T/W ratio above 10,000ft, let alone 20,000 or higher.
@@jacobbaumgardner3406 my guess is he’s talking about when the stripped an f15 of all its extra weight and did tests on it one of those being flying straight up in which it broke Mach 1 but it’s still in question because no plane can go that fast and maintain it
For example the SMT can change from a slow very wide search to a very quick (so instant update), narrow search. Su27 doesn't get those. Its stuck with something like 1 search every 1.5 seconds.
As the other comments have already pointed out I should have called it the radar search area or search pattern. I was thinking scope as in larger or smaller. Gaijin calls it search mode. Regardless, I was referring to how large of an area in front of you the radar scans. Personally I like to have a smaller search area because with WT spotting I don't need to use the radar to find targets just out and about. I like having more control to aim the radar at specific targets.
I love French aircraft. The Mirage 2000-5F is my most deadly plane. I just can't get the Mirage 4000 to work nearly as well. I might not be doing a video on the Mirage 4000 because of how much I struggled in that plane.
@@brendanharvey3583 gripen can't kill you unless you engage with it. The su27 has the power to kill without engaging, which is the main American tactic. The F-15 and other US aircraft except the tomcat need to engage to get kills.
What I don't get is how the r-27er is so accurate when irl it hit only 10% of the time. Plus the r27 was made to compete with the aim-120, which the us line doesn't have. As far as missiles go, Russia is getting massive bias.
@@levoderso7469 the closest thing the American line has to the r27 is the aim54C, which is hopelessly inaccurate, and the irl equivalent is the aim120 which we don't have. I don't know why I'm spelling this out for you, it's a missile which is years ahead of what usa has
No. The R27 both regular R and ER were in service before the Aim120 was in service. They are all mid to late 80s missiles. The US didn't use any new radar missiles until the Aim 120, so in-game, Aim-7F is the best missile for a USAF jet (Navy had Aim-7Ps) it's just that the Aim7s don't feel as good as it used to for some reason.
where were you when early aim7s had 100% hit rate in game ? they still do but irl they failed so bad in vieatnam. u cherry pick what u want and call russian bias lmao. keep coping. also r27 was not made to compete with aim120. it was r77 which came out in 1994 just 3 years after aim120. u can say that the r27er should have come together with aim120/r77 , but the issue is that u can completely avoid any radar guided missile if u fly at 20m , its not the same for ir missiles but thats where nato jets get a LOT more flares than russian jets.

I think something else that’s an issue with almost every Soviet aircraft is the rwr
Yeah. Russian RWRs aren't great but like I said, they yell at you when somebody fires a missile and that's enough for me.
The 29SMT’s RWR is decent.
And the heavily nerfed flight model😂
I'm just goin for the Su-27 bc it's the closest thing we got to Su-30SM. I rly want the Su-30SM in War Thunder.
The F15A in game is missing over 20% of the thrust it has IRL. Can go supersonic in a straight up 90 degrees vertical climb from the runway.
damn… is it a different variant?
@@TRtraybloxeeynope, this exact one that’s in game.
No

the su-27's major flaw is alongside the rest of 12.3s that aren't american, is starting with IRCCM.
In different sources single engine of su27 should produce up to 12.5k static thrust. But in game only 11.6k.
Can you clarify what you mean with changing the radar scope ? I can change the Radar scope without problems from 10km all the way up to 100 km

the RWR on russian jets are overpowered compared to real life, they only have a warning with a signal strength, type and -90-90 degree indicators
a 1.25kd is kinda ass in the su 27
