In Sins 1, Akkan was always my first capital. In 2, I considered other ships, as they can clear gravity wells faster.
However, coming back into the Akkan (Progeny for Advent), as the free planet level and other early benefits are so powerful (trade / Unit Awakened).
The Akkan even saved my butt a few times early, as it power leveled to 6 from derelicts, and the Armistice gave me much needed breathing room to reorganize my fleet for defense.

@@LiveLaughRepeat Yeah Armistice is a very nice get out of jail free card! Difficult to get to lvl 6 without derelicts though.

Some would counter that a more powerful ship like a kol would be better while using a colony frigate. Though an akan has free colonize abilities.

Good job, bro! Looking forward for game stuff regarding Vasari and Advent. Thanks o/

@@unoriginalthoughts796 How can you set a rally point for cobalt frigate to attack targets one by one? Thanks

@@BlueArden_X By holding the Shift-key you can queue actions! You can queue ships to atk targets in succession or fly to another planet/position after killing them etc. Shift is usually the deafult key for this in RTS games.

nice micro tips for early control. I will be trying out using "follow" with the light frigates and increasing my colonizing speed with a second capital fleet with colony seed nanites.
I have tried going for commerce on my homeworld before mining but TEC is so metal starved that it heavily delays the first trade port. by doing minerals first you can put the trade port down almost as soon as the research is done.
also on my first planet to colonize, if it has two siege frigates I kill one then colonize right after while focusing the second because I am trying to get the planet to level 5 as soon as possible. this is in order to put a university on it to avoid building any orbital labs before getting modular architecture

Thanks! Yeah one downside of going commerece first is that it delays your first tradeport, and usually some upgrades on your astreoids. So it makes it somwhat awkward early. I used to go mining first because of this.
However, the first two mining upgrades on your homworld gives a bonus of 1 metal & crystal/sec, while the two first commerce upgrades gives 6.6 credits/sec. Overall the commerce is quite a bit higher value if you look at the pure numbers . That excess of credits also makes it much easier to to build your second capital ship. I'm not 100% sure whether this makes it worth it to start with commerce overall, but I'm gonna keep testing it.
And oh! I had not thought about that. Sounds like good value go for the universities instead. My only worry is that it would delay your early research. But should try it also.

@@unoriginalthoughts796 a player named KarasLegacy posted this on the discord:
"The simple test: I opened up with a mining first to max than commerce first, and ran it for 10 min. I then repeated the process with commerce first then mining.
      The RESULTS:
      Mining then Commerce: 11,296 / 2,129 / 1,911
      Commerce then Mining: 12,534 / 1,948 / 1,791
In summary: We gained 1,238 credits at the cost of 181 metal and 120 crystal. It costs 3 credits for 1 metal or 1 crystal, so a net profit of 332 credits overall.
Conclusion: If you know you will have markets to use (ala Vasari Alliance), than opening with commerce first can provide a net resource benefit overall."

Why no ships for fleet 2 with the kol?

    • @unoriginalthoughts796
      @unoriginalthoughts796  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@WinsingKompott Good point! You can and should send small ships with your Kol, in certain situations.
If the Kol needs to colonize planets with a lot of neutral militia, or there are just a large number of planets that the Kol needs to capture, it might be a good idea to send some extra ships with it.
I tend to default to sending all of my small ships with the Akkan because usually the Akkan will colonize towards the opponent. Once you encounter your opponent you want to have as many ships as possible to contest him. If there are several entries towards your opponent this point is negated, however.
It is also convenient from a practical perspective. Only building ships to one army group makes it easier to keep track of how many ships are in production. My feeble head can't keep track of too many things at once.
