Your video helped me a lot. I changed mine yesterday and I hate it :D Since my car is in a underground garage where I don't have internet, I had to do a break to go to my flat and re-watch your video again 😂
I don’t understand people spent millions of dollars to design this car but 0 thought went into the cabin air box location that guy needs to get the boot
Thanks for the video. Just to add some information, you don't need to pull the carpet back to slide the filter housing cover and filter out on the right hand drive model.
I just carried this out and it is anything but a 30 minute job. When replacing the filter under the glove box and putting the door back on there is a real trick to getting it positioned so the rubber gasket falls in the grooved track. You will notice how it is resistant when pulling it off to remove the old filter. While holding it lower then the grooved track push hard to the left to get it under the track and hopefully it will go in at that end and align for the right side end to drop in. I noticed that yours wasn't properly in (the left end is very difficult to position) and you clipped it in positioned improperly allowing an air leak. Also, the plastic tray under the glove box has a plastic hook on it and is a bear to get position and takes a lot of wiggling. That large plastic tray comes out a lot easier than it goes back in
I should add that to get the proper leverage on the filter door I put the seat at the far rear setting and my back was on the door sill with my head looking up at the filter door and the ability to use both hands. I'm 84 and even impressed myself.
**FYI FOR THE CABIN AIR FILTER** You need to move the panel to the right A LOT. In the center right-ish, there is a strange plastic bar that hooks way up. That hook goes to the left. So you need to move the panel way right to un-hook it. It's a really odd figure. If you're unsure what plastic bar I'm talking about, it's the one where half of the rectangle at the bottom is cut open while the other half has the plastic bar that goes up. In this video, it has already been cut off. I ended up cutting off this plastic bar with a dremel so I'm not 100% sure if it can be un-hooked. If not, just cut the plastic bar off because you really don't need it for remounting... This plastic bar is impossible to figure out what is above and what direction to move the panel (unless you just try moving in every direction lol), so hope this helps. I saw some comments about this hook but no one mentioned which direction to move the panel.
@@eyadm147 th-cam.com/video/ir84FRqr6bI/w-d-xo.html you should watch this video, it shows how to do it without ridiculous force. Huge thumbs down for this video for putting me on the wrong track for so long
there is also something like a hook, it often gets stuck and is not easy to get out, theres a hole in the middle of the panel where you can feel the hook and "unhook" it then its easier for you to get out😊
In the video, the hook part of the panel is broken off.....this makes it much easier to get the panel out. The plastic hook is a terrible design feature and it is not clear why it really needs to be there. Having it there makes what should be a very simple task into a very difficult one. I suspect that many of them will be broken as in this video.
Exactly! I changed mine today and it was a pain! Because in the video there was no hook.. And I used to much force! It totally broke. But after reinstallment it seems to be of minor importance. The panel sits on top of the quiet rigid floormat in the back end. I think it might be a airchannel from the ac system that surrounds the hook..
Hello mate.i got mercedes a class 170 ,2005..my car blow air but dont give warm air..what i can do?all works before to i go in holliday, when i comeback give low warm air,but now it stop give warn air inside the cabin..
Every 2 years or 30K kilometers is the recommended cycle. I think it depends on how dusty and dirty the city you live in is and how much time you spend in your car.

Nice video, but most stupid design by Mec, i hav drove many cars none of them like that, as AC Filter is a routine thing need to change regulaly, stupid Mec and no more for me again!
After saw your videos, I decided to go to mercedes service centre.

Ah but remember the primary goal of Mercedes Benz. “Take it to the dealer and pay $225 an hour”

I'm totally going to fuck this up😂😂😭
haha lol
Putting the rubber housing seal back on after putting in the filter was a damn difficult job. I would reconsider doing it again.

Nice video!
How did you pull the panel out? It looked so easy in your clip but I haven't been able to pull it out..
I assume you're talking about the first panel, yeah it's a PITA. You have to pull it towards the seat and down

I did it......wow😮
I can't believe it, it was so hard
Why exactly?
Do you have a video on the 2019 E63s W213 engine air filter removal?
I don't but that's a good video idea for my next one!
Eyad M please do!
Do you change the oil your self? I heard that you can't use standard wraps?
What s happen if we never replace this filter?
Your cabin air is so much dirty
@@m2sce OK but no problem for air conditioned?
Cabin filter is so difficult to change. I don’t know why they did like this

Is your car overheating? Sounds like a bad thermostat. Be careful with that..
@@eyadm147 no,is not overheating..all works perfectly,just heating dont..work cold air,but not hot air
Why would mercedes make the interior filter so difficult to access? 😡😡😡😡😡
These filters are replaced as part of Maintenance B, which should happen ever 2 years or 20k miles
Thank you !!!
Please tell me how many kilometers do you need to change the air filter
Thank you

I pulled way to hard and broken the plastic PC from under dash what a terrible design unreal
👍👏👏👏
Easy!?!?!?!?
Merci
Very complicated and stupid design
