Been screwing with this all day and had just come to the conclusion that the hole in the pedal where the plunger goes in was a design flaw and I needed to plug the hole so the plunger could depress. You confirmed this for me; huge thanks! Christmas tree idea seems like a good fix. I was going to tape an index card behind it and then fill the hole with JB weld. I like your fix better . . . except it's only a 2001 and 21 years young. Wonder if the plastic tree will last another 10 years ....it is a toyota after all thanks.
good video! how the heck do you get up in there? my switch on my 2002 Corolla is hard to see, I guess you have to put your back on the floormat and try to reach up in there. I don't think I can do mine.
difficult to video, but where the switch is can be seen and disconnect it (the old) and remove it and then thread in the new one and then connect it ....
You were so kind to me before when it came to my brake light switch I have another question I think my fuel pump is shot do you know the average cost to get that installed and fixed by a mechanic I just need to know how much you think it would be money is tight and I got a budget it and somebody's telling me it's over $1,000😮
As long as the switch isn't broken like mine was you can get away with just replacing the stopper, you may need to adjust the switch in or out because the stopper may be thinker or thinner than what the factory one was.
