- In this video we go over the topic of adding "cinematic" black bars to your videos. What do I mean when I'm saying that you shouldn't add black bars to your videos? Does that mean no shooting in 2.39:1? No.

Thanks for this, Carl! Very helpful, my friend, and makes sense. 👍🏾
You're welcome :)
Just bought a BMPCC original... Thanks for answering this question that I had on mind. Another quick question, Do you use any LUT for BMPCC color?
By the way, I have to say, your breakdown video of the relationship between ISO, exposure and dynamic range on the blackmagic REALLY (understatement) helped me on my latest shoot, I felt super condident, so thank you very much for that! So far your videos are very pinpoint accurate on the topics you explore
That's awesome, one hell of a review! Glad I could help you out :)
@@carlscinema7086 really big thank to you for bmpcc og lessons.
On my Fujifilm xt3 timelines i don't have the option for DCI Scope 2.39, any thoughts why?
Haven't used the Fuji cameras so I don't really know what the selection looks like on those :/
Westworld did this and seen it in a few music videos these days too. All I ever think is "noooooooo ... now you're cropping out the screen." All those years we would only buy anamorphic widescreen and avoided anything letterbox .... and now people are adding it back for "artistic effect." 🙃
Yah i already frame 2.35:1 IN camera :)
👌👌
I'm guilty your honor! But I swear I won't do it again!
I'll allow it. But I don't want to see you in this courtroom again.
@@carlscinema7086 Thank you your honor lol
Another mistake is taken out. Thank you.👍
Why you dont add the option to activate the subs on your videos... are you aware many people watch your content and they are not very familiar with English 100%?
For some reason the automated captions from TH-cam don't show up on all videos, some work, some don't :/
The 2.39:1 aspect ratio isn't necessary, look at a (real, not DIY) cinematic film; Zack Snyder's Justice League. It is in 4:3 apect ratio and it is a masterpiece. Learn to use all your sensor, whatever it's aspect ratio, and you will have less crop.
At the end of the day it's what you wanna show, if you wanna show wide spanning shots, it's different than a claustrophobic feel, same with anything really, whatever you need to tell your story
@@EvilDogFilmsOfficial That's true... the film "Scott Pilgrim" uses a ton of differents aspect ratios...
What Evil Dog Films said, choose an aspect ratio that fits the story and project. Last short I shot we decided to go for a DCI 1.88:1 aspect ratio, there's no right or wrong answers.
lmao zack snyder justice league yes peak cinema
Every Taylor Swift videos lmao. Horrible editing.
