They hardly make any cutscenes at all any more. I read somewhere that they opted for more in-game-graphic cutscenes instead, because the modern games require SO many resources, staff and money that making an effort to create such beautiful CGI cutscenes doesn't pay off any more. Sqex is first and foremost a company after all. Look at the super-low amount of CGI-cutscenes that FFXIIILR and FFXV had, it confirms what I've read. That one CGI movie "The Spirits Within" had almost ruined Square Soft financially, because of the expensive development CGI cutscenes require. I am super-sad about the direction video games are heading to, and my heart hurts a lot. I have accepeted it but I don't like it.
@Master Tonberry I am afraid, yes. I love the FF cgi cutscenes so much, I rewatch them over and over. Especially the ones from X and the XIII games. But it seems like we'll only get like 2-3 cutscenes in future games: the opening and ending (just like XIV, Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts) and maybe 1 or two very significant scenes (for example XV Luna Death Scene or XIII-2 Lightning becoming Etro scene). Even games that bring them a crazy amount of money like XIV or XV could not convince Square to give us more than just Opening cgi Cutscenes for the expansions Heavensward and Stormblood. For the XV Episodes, we didn't even get one single cgi cutscene.

A detail I’ve always found so cute and funny is Kimahri carrying Lulu when they’re all skating down the anchors. I wondered for the longest time of how Lulu just *appeared* down there but later I realized that Kimahri was being a true gentlemen and carrying her down. Tbh though I’d love to see queen Lulu try to skate on the anchors haha. This is such a fucking great scene.
Omg I've never noticed that! It use to bug me that you don't see Lulu grinding down the rail but it turns out she was there the whole time lol. I thought they didn't add her because it looked too ridiculous grinding down the rope in her belt dress.
It has something to do with how Lulu was animated. Apparently making sure the belts on the front of her dress looked the same every time was complicated enough that to save time they didn't bother animating her feet, hence why Kimahri is carrying her.
A refined lady like Lulu, you just know she has to be wearing high heels based on her running animation, practically impossible to slide on a metal cable with it. Back in Luca, when Yuna got kidnapped and you had to jump on the Al Bhed salvage ship, the screen fades to black just before Lulu had a chance to jump, then when the screen comes back you only see her in a landed animation, implying that she jumped but you couldn't see it first hand. It was pretty clear that the devs didn't want Lulu to do anything overly physical, that's what Rikku is for, they needed at least one girl that's ladylike

After years I realize just how risky this move was for Yuna. According to the rules of summoning, if another summoner is utilizing a faythe and their respective aeon at the time , that particular aeon can’t be called. Yuna had not yet acquired Bahamut so if Valefor was being used by Donna or another summoner at the time, Yuna would have been of out of luck.

I'm literally playing the game rn, I just saw the underwater date. The underwater date was one of the most beautiful scenes I've seen in a videogame, but this scene is probably my favourite scene in the game so far 💯
the cg cutscenes are incredible, they do sucu a great job at capturing the scale and beauty of the environments and you can really tell how the characters are feeling from the subtle facial animations

The strongest part of this game was its insanely good story and characters. Every single playable character was amazing and unique in their own way. Not a single one I disliked. Also it doesn’t hurt that the leveling system and battling are really fun too. It’s just one of the best games ever created, and it has aged wonderfully. Yuna is an S-tier Final Fantasy girl.

If I pushed a taxidermied cat on your lips, you wouldn't be considered a necrophiliac would you? Besides, half the people in the story turn out to be dead. It doesn't seem very taboo in Spira. Death is also something else in Spira than in the real world. In our world, dead things rot, turn nasty and harmful to be around. The dead are also inanimate. What turns most people off to corpses is probably the unreal sensation of seeing a human, not behaving like live humans do, and partly the disgusting parts of decomposing. In Spira, both things don't seem to happen. There is no physical disgust, nor emotional reaction. People are basically the same. Though, for Spirans, perhaps making love to a fiend that used to be your lover, is the equivalent of necrophilia. Ironically, you (and most players) probably find the Yuna and Tidus scenes romantic, but he's a dream/ghost, whatever. But that seems to be fine :P
I remember this scene going at a completely different audio/video sync on PS3, before this silly Remaster. Those little, missing details are what KILL scenes like this for me. After the Precession of Yuna and Seymour, once the Bevelle party knew Evrae had been killed and they prepped for the Guardian's assault, the entire sequence of events after that was off by about 4-5 seconds. Drives me nuts when producers RUSH like that and forget the DETAILS many of us remember very well!!

I've finished this game so many times so can somebody tell me why i've only just figured this out.
Seymour only wants Yuna to marry him so that Yuna would choose him as her final aeon like Lady Yunalesca chose her husband and thus Seymour will become the new sin so he can destroy Spira.
yeah, he only really mentiins that right before his 2nd boss battle so it's understandable

i can see them doing it like with FF7 remake, and the demand is definitely there, considering this ushered in the ps2 era and was huge upon release. I can't imagine it would be to difficult to translate over to a remake, it's pretty linear already

lol yeah, it does a really good job at making you squirm at how slimy the whole wedding and kiss feels, Tidus being so angry is all of us. Thankfully we get the scene with Tidus and Yuna not so long after :)

"necrophilia" in the most literal sense means to LOVE (making love to) the dead, getting off on it. Yuna clearly isn't into it, she's just playing along.

Besides, half the people in the story turn out to be dead. It doesn't seem very taboo in Spira.
Death is also something else in Spira than in the real world. In our world, dead things rot, turn nasty and harmful to be around. The dead are also inanimate.
What turns most people off to corpses is probably the unreal sensation of seeing a human, not behaving like live humans do, and partly the disgusting parts of decomposing.
In Spira, both things don't seem to happen. There is no physical disgust, nor emotional reaction. People are basically the same.
Though, for Spirans, perhaps making love to a fiend that used to be your lover, is the equivalent of necrophilia.
Ironically, you (and most players) probably find the Yuna and Tidus scenes romantic, but he's a dream/ghost, whatever. But that seems to be fine :P
Necrophilia is about corpses anyway, with is not the case here...

I remember this scene going at a completely different audio/video sync on PS3, before this silly Remaster. Those little, missing details are what KILL scenes like this for me. After the Precession of Yuna and Seymour, once the Bevelle party knew Evrae had been killed and they prepped for the Guardian's assault, the entire sequence of events after that was off by about 4-5 seconds. Drives me nuts when producers RUSH like that and forget the DETAILS many of us remember very well!!

By looking at her clenched fist at 5:49, I'm pretty sure it's a sign that Yuna doesn't want to marry Seymour. Equally important, her clenched fist at that part reminds me of Arthur's clenched fist meme (that is basically shown in the episode of Arthur called Arthur's Big Hit). LOL 😂😆🤣
Tuna doesn't eat to marry Seymour she's was only ping it for two reasons
1. To get him to turn himself in to yevon for killing his father (lord jyscal)
2. To send him to the farplane as he's already dead
