This is the first channel I have watched where the builder actually installs the chipset drivers. None before have installed them. I find them to be performance enhancing software in all of the builds I have completed.
My PC used to shutdown without any warning. It wasn't temperature related. I tried EVERYTHING! It went away after firmware update on the ssd. Until that point I didn't even realised that ssds have a firmware. But beware that updates are not always healthy. Always read carefully what you're installing. You can make things a lot worst while panicking looking for a solution. Bios updates for example can leave you PC dead, so do think 10 times through before you pull the trigger.
"my pc used to shutdown without warning. it wasnt temperature related" then proceeds to NOT say what caused or fixed ur shutdown problem. ?????????????????????????????????????????????
@@oksu132 what the He'll are you talking about? I said it was a ssd firmware issue. The PC stopped restarting after the update of the firmware of the ssd! How did you not read that?
Looking at one that was getting hot today, and the problem I think is the placement of the M2 on the motherboard, right next to the cpu heatsink on one side, and the video card on the other. I think we're better off getting a sata ssd, and at least it can be placed in drive bay.
I have two NVME's fitted, both with heatsinks. I wouldn't actually ever fit one without a heatsink. One is my C drive and the other my D, idling at 36 and 33c with a maximum of 47 and 45c. I also always fit a chassis fan to blow over them, glue it into a position in the case if necessary....I can't stand heat in my system. Even that PCH of 75c in your video Britec, would be far too much for me, mine never goes above 50, even when gaming....again, I have a chassis fan blowing over it. Great video, I never see anyone covering this issue, NVME's are great but they should never go above 60c in my opinion, not if you value your data.
Will keep this in mind since will get a M.2 next month for the first time and is a cheap one that might drive with problems similar to this (WD SN570 1tb)
You was looking at the wrong temps when you went back to check it's the temp underneath the one you was looking at. I've got the same drive it's known for running hot. After the fix you didn't show the temp for the drive so I'm guessing the fix didn't work as I know it doesn't.
My bad. I made a mistake my drive is the p1. For some reason it doesn't work for my drive but looks like it did work for the p5. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Crucial P5 NVMe. I downloaded their Micron driver, enabled Momentum Cache in their Executive suite. . The increase in performance was amazing with max temp at 50 C. (I have a Online UPS so ok with battery backup). I also removed the sticker/decal on the chipset side for better contact with the heat sink.
I had a Crucial p5 die on me suddenly, it no longer showed in BIOS, I am awaiting it's replacement. I did get it to work in a USB to nvme adapter and it ran so hot I put a CPU cooler on top of the chip while I transferred data to another drive.
What is the normal operating temperature for a solid state drive-in Fahrenheit the only one I know in Celsius off the top of my head is 100゚C equals 212゚F which is hot enough to boil water

I sell used computers but I will not be selling a computer with this drive in it. I will probably use it for experimental purposes, in a Windows base streaming media box. Even though it only has 12 power on hours I'm not sure how old the drive actually is for warranty purposes. I know some drives have bearer warranties. I couldn't find any information about warranty on the Samsung web page still looking. But this may have been a Dell OEM supplied drive that came in the computer, therefore when the computers warranty expires the drives warranty May expire
