Thanks very much. I went to Lexus and replaced the gas cap because it would not tighten as it should be. The dashboard lights issue was still there with the car. Then, I went to Volvoline to have my oil change. I asked the guys to disconnect the battery terminal for few seconds. It was frustrating, the VSC TRACK OFF LIGHT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT were still showing. Last thing I did, was to go to Lowe's and bought a wrench. I was determined, and prayed that God please help me to fix my car dashboard's X'mas lights. Then, with the help of Lowe's parking light in the midst of darkness-- this evening, I used the wrench to unscrew the negative side of the battery. Wow, it was a 1-2-3 experience: turned on the ignition. The dashboard warning lights for the VSC TRACK OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE DISAPPEARED! Praise Lord Jesus; He saved me from the weight of tons of worry off my back.
Thanks, worked like a charm. However, I had to re-sync the power windows and power lift as well as reset the climate controls and clock. Wasn't a problem, just a reminder to do those things since the power was off.

This only turns it off as a reset and then it will eventually come on again. The permanent fix is re adjust the cam position to top dead Centre. It’s not off by much. A slight adjustment does it. It’s just an annoying process.
My lights came on after a roll of carpet fell off a truck in front of me and I hit it. Not sure what a cam is. Would it’s misalignment be related to that carpet I hit?
@@ekligge It’s possible. If you can reset it and it stays off then great you’ve fixed it. If it’s reset and then comes back on after driving for a bit then it’s the cam that needs to readjusting. Not an urgent fix, car is still ok to drive.
How do I re adjust the cam position to top dead centre? It just keeps coming back on after reset. I'm being told to get a tune up , and other stuff. Don't trust these other answers. Also told my P0300/P0301/P0305 sensors off and my P0016 camshaft is something?
Listen folks...I, did this this past Wednesday, July 31st 2024 on my 2009 Lexus RX350. It DID work. Then, on Saturday, August 3rd 2024, the lights came back on. Remember, when you disconnect the battery cable for a few minutes like they say, and reconnect that cable, you have to reset your clock and your radio. So it must be something wrong in the system in your car. Try it and you WILL SEE what I am talking about. And they are on as I post this comment. Good day.
Gas cap was tight. 10+ minute "rest" was all it needed. Thanks. (Side note, this will most likely delete both driver seat "memories", so, and particularly if you use both "memory positions", memorize (I do it twice our of abundant caution) the one that is "on" when you disconnect the negative terminal, then reposition to the other position and "memorize" it. )
@@paqz9276 The reasoning behind that "disconnect the ground first and connect the ground last" is that every vehicle is an isolated ground environment. A vehicle can only distribute the impact of switching on a current where the contact happens. Since current flows from positive to negative the contact on the battery will bring the full force of the batteries current to the positive terminal if there is a short circuit and the negative terminal is connected first and the positive second. Batteries are designed so they don't explode when this happens, but they will get deformed and give of the sulfuric acid gas. Lithium batteries will catch fire and it's hard to put them out. In a building of any kind, electrical ground goes to a ground rod that is buried in the earth and the impact of a short circuit goes into the ground. So the current dissipates. So in construction, you are absolutely right. Ground bar gets connected and tested and every circuit get's checked for a short before it gets turned on.

Hi I have an issue. My battery keeps dying on my Lexus rx330 2006 and I unplugged the short fuse and it seems to have fix the issue. Do you know what's wrong with it? Thanks in advance!
Let me give u one advice, and when you disconnect the battery in a vehicle to reset and connect it back u should wait until the the ring bell in the vehicle stop Ring, then u start the vehicle, that allows the computer to re-learn all the sensors in u vehicle,I have 27 ,ears of experience and is a common mistake that people do when start the car
Thanks for the video. IMHO it's best to connect Red 1st, then Ground. If you connect ground 1st, the entire car is grounded and if you touch the ratchet to any metal - you will arc power from the positive terminal. Now ask me how I know....
One hour later, the light comes back on.
Or when you start to think the light is gone for good..

Not the gas cap. Mine sets off Check Engine, VSC and the pesky trac light. Reset and it comes back on in 100 miles. What could it be.

Be sure to replace the timing belt ASAP with that many miles. This is an interference engine so a broken timing belt could be disastrous.
If car is running fine.. Ignore the light. Mine came on and off for the last 6 years.
Timing belt must be replaced at each 60 k if it snaps will take your pants off .
