Ignore that. Do this. Clean maf sensor. If that don't work replace gas cap. If that don't work replace O2 sensor. Don't let anyone tell you it's the cat. My $ is on dirty MAF sensor. It's right off your air intake. Unscrew, clean sensor thoroughly, put back. Also very cheap if it don't clean replace. It's much cheaper than 02 sensors.
Thanks, worked like a charm. However, I had to re-sync the power windows and power lift as well as reset the climate controls and clock. Wasn't a problem, just a reminder to do those things since the power was off.
@@paqz9276 The reasoning behind that "disconnect the ground first and connect the ground last" is that every vehicle is an isolated ground environment. A vehicle can only distribute the impact of switching on a current where the contact happens. Since current flows from positive to negative the contact on the battery will bring the full force of the batteries current to the positive terminal if there is a short circuit and the negative terminal is connected first and the positive second. Batteries are designed so they don't explode when this happens, but they will get deformed and give of the sulfuric acid gas. Lithium batteries will catch fire and it's hard to put them out. In a building of any kind, electrical ground goes to a ground rod that is buried in the earth and the impact of a short circuit goes into the ground. So the current dissipates. So in construction, you are absolutely right. Ground bar gets connected and tested and every circuit get's checked for a short before it gets turned on.
This only turns it off as a reset and then it will eventually come on again. The permanent fix is re adjust the cam position to top dead Centre. It’s not off by much. A slight adjustment does it. It’s just an annoying process.
My lights came on after a roll of carpet fell off a truck in front of me and I hit it. Not sure what a cam is. Would it’s misalignment be related to that carpet I hit?
@@ekligge It’s possible. If you can reset it and it stays off then great you’ve fixed it. If it’s reset and then comes back on after driving for a bit then it’s the cam that needs to readjusting. Not an urgent fix, car is still ok to drive.
How do I re adjust the cam position to top dead centre? It just keeps coming back on after reset. I'm being told to get a tune up , and other stuff. Don't trust these other answers. Also told my P0300/P0301/P0305 sensors off and my P0016 camshaft is something?
my 06 rx 330 is showing engine light vsc and trac off i have no clue . took it to see why engine is on said it was codes p0430 and c1223 c1224 u0123 u0124 uo126 also saying to replace cat bank 2 and replace steering angle sensor do you think thisis a simple fix or does something major wrong thank you

I am not a mechanic just a hobbyist could A scan tool\ OBDwiz\ OBDII reader clear the code or provide the code and point to the issue triggering the VCS light.. maybe a speed sensor is failing?
I unhooked battery cables and hooked them back on lights went out was making a sound and idling rough got to looking and it was out of coolant put in coolant and back to normal I'm wondering if that's what made the lights come on to begin with
you have to reset the idle rpm to normal, by turning car on, hand break, put it in drive and wait till it adjust back to 600-800 rpm, theres videos for it on youtube
@Alex T yes I did but unfortunately I had to have timing belt waterpump coil and sparkplugs replaced costs 1298.80 and last week a new lexus starter costs 492.48 geez
Hi I have an issue. My battery keeps dying on my Lexus rx330 2006 and I unplugged the short fuse and it seems to have fix the issue. Do you know what's wrong with it? Thanks in advance!
lights came on: check engine, VSC Off (flashing) and the wet road zigzag (solid). I disconnected and reconnected the battery and WALLAH! THE LIGHTS WENT OUT!
Mine did this morning and I unhooked battery cables and lights went out but was making a sound and idling rough got to looking and it was out of coolant put in the coolant and back to normal I'm wondering if that's what made the lights come on to begin with
One hour later, the light comes back on.
Or when you start to think the light is gone for good..
😂😂😂😂😂 oh yahoo
Thanks buddy you helped me with exactly what I needed
Usual a loose gas cap will cause the issue … glad you were able to figure it out ! Great energy in the video
Thank you for sharing your wisdom with others! U really helped me!😊
Bless you my friend! Gas cap worked for me.

You’re welcome
Thanks a lot. It worked on LS also.
Thanks! My wife’s was the loose gas cap just as you said, needed to listen for the click!

Wasn’t the gas cap, it was slushy roads on way to and from work. Thank you, it rest. Much appreciate your video.
Rest. lol.
My lights happened last night. Conditions were just as you described. Will try this first in the morning. Thanks.
Awesome! Thank you!!
some guys from Europe told me not to worry about it. It's a computer glitch, not a faulty catalytic converter...
You should always disconnect the ground first and connect the ground last!
You obviously are not a electrician

Thank you for the awesome video and save me money🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
So really.. thanks you
how about erasing the code by obd 2 but mine i erased it turned off the lights but for 1 to 2 days the lights cameback
You should always connect the ground second!
Clean the air flow sensor
No sweat
But will or did it come back one

Would you be willing to show a video on how to adjust this? Point to show what the cam is?
Wait a couple days. Lights come right back on.
That means you have a real issue. I’d bring it somewhere to have it checked out. Ours didn’t come back on for over a year
Think you boro
Nice the only problem is that the light still comes on after a while ? It's okay I like the jack leg video's on you tube Entertaining ?
I tried this it worked but after a day or 2 it comes on again
Yep same
mine keep coming back after driving for a while, and now i gotta reset low idle rpm back to normal smh

Same here did you ever figure it out

Be sure to replace the timing belt ASAP with that many miles. This is an interference engine so a broken timing belt could be disastrous.
If car is running fine.. Ignore the light. Mine came on and off for the last 6 years.
Good🎉

It’s probably possible. It’s the first time it’s come on. It’s a common problem with this coming on higher mileage Lexus

You might have a draw that is draining the battery. You’ll need to find out what is still on when the car is off.
I did, but in the next two or three days will turn it on again
It might. If it does you have an actual problem

The video is right. The temp dropped below 40 in New York City in November and it started drizzling. I got in my car and three

And it pops up again in 2 days lol
Wow I have lean something again
It will come back again when u walk and press break
It will come back sir this is not fixed
I hate to tell you’ll that light coming back on down the street 😂😂😂
It stayed off for 6 months. I do know it comes right back on for some people.
It worked but came back on 2 weeks later.
You most likely have a real issue.
@@BringItMuscleCars- thank you for the quick response. Going to check the code after work. Probably bad O2 sensor.
After some Time it will still come out
Yeah I did that the lights went off. Next time I started it they came back on
That means you have a real issue. You might want to take it somewhere

How you do for it?
replace your O2 sensor
🙄What a waste of time. Dude, it takes 5 seconds to say “If your VSC light is on, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then reconnect”.
Don’t hook up the ground first hook up the positive first
Worked like a charm! Thank you very much!!
It was just over a year before it came back on.
Wow I have lean something again
